Okay, I really liked this issue. The story was really interesting, with the sci-fi elements, and aside from some suspisiously-Sprouse-looking eyeballs, the art was as beautiful as any I've seen on this title so far. I'll post more in-depth thoughts later, but I just HAD to be the first one to post about...
THE KISS!!!
The KISS!!!
THE KISS!!!
Brainiac 5 kissed Invisible Kid!!!
Let the speculations, ramifications, cheers, and gripes run WILD!!!

Grrr. My shop had just gotten their shipment but didn't know if they'd get the books out today. Two people didn't show up so only the manager was there trying to enter all the books in the computer (which has to be done before any sales) and take care of the school skipping kids playing computer games.

I am going to pick up my books as soon as I leave work. My curiosity is certainly piqued.
My concern is that Brainy has not hitherto shown the slightest inclination. I supposed Andromeda was just his beard?

Hmm... I suppose once he gets over the whole "infatuation with women who look like his mother" thingie, anything goes...
Still, I'm not certain this might not be some sort of time anomaly effect...
The funny thing is, as I was reading the issue, I was really wondering who the chick was he's cuddling with in the rubble of the Time Institute...

"Wow" is right. This one seriously challenges my powers of Super Gadflyiness. Two drawbacks that immmediately come to mind.
1) Kid Q doesn't sleep naked.
2) The villian/cause for all the problems is extremely obvious.
Spoilers . . . . The Universe is Pregnant. . Oh come on it makes sense.
Extreme temporal swings. Everyone getting cuddly with each other. (Tasmia-Kid Q, Kid Q-Coz, Lyle-Brainy. A little one showing up on the scans of the Milky Way. (HMMM, THAT'S FREUDIAN) Each issue begins with something dark and icky being spewed.
Well now that that is spoiled, I hope you all are still able to enjoy.

Well, I've had time to read through this ish a time or two more, and once again, I really liked it. Both story and art moved well. This issue didn't feel as thin as some other recent ones to me, even though some subplots weren't addressed.
Jarth and Cub are still hanging, though given how focused and generally good this issue was, I don't think that's a bad thing.
I liked the picture of James on Jazmin's nightstand. Little touches like that are golden, and what this book needs. The fight scene at the time institute was dynamic and beautiful. We also got a great, classic Querl line there. Finally, Vi actually gets to do something, even if it IS only to get hurt in a fight. It was also very nice that Superboy was NOT part of the final away team. More about him later.
Okay, I have to admit, I liked Kid Q's pink panties. Heck, they covered up more of her nether regions than her suit does. And they were cute. If any legionnaire needs to go on "What not to wear," though, it's Kid Q.
I commented on the last issue that I ilked seeing Querl and Lyle going on a science mission together... but at the time, I was expecting it to be about time and physics, not chemistry and biology!
Now, about Kon-El... he was less irritating than usual, mainly because he just kind of hung out for a couple of pages. Unfortunately, us continuity-hounds may have to get used to Valorists being Supermanites now. Or something. I don't know, this religious subplot still rubs me raw. Anyway, he was used well in this ish, and I think that bodes well for the arc. And that cover was beautiful. It made quite a diff seeing it on the stands out with everything else. Definitely an attention-grabber.
It's interesting seeing the parallels to the Great Darkness here (Invisible Kid going through the boom tube, Servants popping in and out) and I'm very curious to see how this one gets played out.
What was that green ball from the Time Institute that everyone kept on touching?
Finally, we didn't see any of the current subplots pop up (but we DID get a nice juicy new one!) I don't think this is a bad thing, as I can see the whole Jarth and Cub things really bogging down what seems to be gearing up to be a fast, fun ride.
Oh, and I really liked the sci-fi elements thrown in in this one. Dark matter and shrinking universes make me think I'm reading the Legion of yesteryear. And that's a compliment.

One more thing... Supermanred3003 over on the new DCMB pointed this out...
Brainiac 5 said that the "temporal anomalies seem to be radiating out from some kind of time event 10 years in our past."
Could this time event be Zero Hour? I'm starting to wonder more and more if those people who thought the hooded figure last ish was the Time Trapper were right on the money.

Me Too! and the little green guy waiving behind Trudy. DnA really crammed in a lot of story by using the reporter. Wow, they actually mentioned that people get killed. Actually, kind of new.

When I saw this cover in the solicites, I also wasn't impressed. Not just becasue I do not like Clone-El. It did peak out from the others on the stand. I guess that's why artists are artists, and, well, I'm not.

Magic 8 Ball?
Well, it fits in with the story.

A PUZZLE
Last issue we're shown Jarth lamenting about how five weeks later, Superboy's still a hot topic in the press, and cults have been coming out of the woodworks because of his appearance.
This week, he appears at the Time Institute (wearing the new outfit for the first time), and we're treated to a news story which treats his appearance as a "dramatic development", and talks about the reaction it provokes.
I take it this is a time blip?
