In October, the dream of a United Planets may be dissolving into hopelessness when an all-out brawl breaks out between the Legion and the agents of Terror Firma. It all happens in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES 11, written by Mark Waid with art by Barry Kitson & Mick Gray.

Best fight scene yet.

It the pale-skinned, blue-haired, female alien coming in between Brin and Saturn Girl someone we should know?

Reminded me a 'missing' character who hasn't been seen in a year or so when I first saw the cover.

THE GOOD
- Terror Firma (plot advancement at last?)
- Micro Lad vs. Elysion. Beautiful!
- Brin is back!
- Butt-kicking Phantom Girl looks swell
- A new mystery character (white-haired girl)
- No Cos or Brainy. Yay!
- Barry's artwork, of course

THE BAD
- Ultra Boy ... again
- Saturn Girl resorting to physical combat (her mind powers are really being downplayed in this series)
- Still no Violet. Grrrr.

THE UGLY
- That snake had better be Chameleon

I know this is my hobby-horse but the colours seem a lot more dynamic here than they usually do. They're worlds apart from the cover 2 issues before it. Me like!

This is the first time when I've ever thought to myself, "Phantom Girl -- what a babe!" I'm particularly impressed by the beauty queen hair, even in the midst of battle. That's what makes this Legion so great - insanely beautiful art. Well done Barry.

Maybe it is Projectra casting an illusion to frighten the blue skinned girl. If so, it's Barry's little joke/homage to a previous incarnation of Jeckie. Just like that time Abnet and Lanning had Sneckie appear as a blonde human woman.

the woman in question is a foe. if I recall correctly, she can mask her friends from pyschic probing.

as for the snake in the picture, well the it seems to have the same color as Cham.

The cover was drawn by Barry Kitson, right? My god, it's good! In fact, I think that it's the best cover yet!

By the way, does the wording of the explanatory text make anybody else besides me think that some sort of truce or alliance between Terror Firma and at least a faction of the Legion may be coming very soon?
