And I bet the stocks of Electro-Stylus, Inc., are way down because of it.

yet electro-style is surging.

I'd love to have a dupli-writing stylus!

A dupli-writing stylus in every hand! [Karate Kid]

Think of all the autographs I can get signed once I'm famous!

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

The existence of pens that allowed one to simultaneously sign multiple autographs is so important to 30th century society, that it is pointed out on two separate occasions during the Adventure era!

That's more Adventure era appearances than the Planetary Chance Machine!

Laser Stylus!

It's because, due the massive appeal of Reality Shows, by the Legion's time nearly EVERYone is famous!

It became very popular to get your favorite Legionnaire's scent trace, at one point.

Posted by Outdoor Miner on :

Given that nobody seems to read in the future, the value of autographs probably plummeted.

Posted by MLLASH on :

Notice the decline in the Legionnaires' sales popularity co-incides with the decline in their autograph-signing. Life imitates art.

The Polecat was so desperate for attention, he would give his away for free!

Imagine if they brought in my ultimate comic book idol, Alex Robinson, to take over writing and drawing the Legion. There'd be a fantastic 12-issue epic totally centered on criminals trafficking in counterfeit Legionnaire memorabilia.

Hmph! No one will convince me that my Umbra 3000s weren't genuinely worn by Matter-Eater Lad!

Tenzil ate the dupli-stylus, saying he needed more iron in his diet.

I hope Paul Levitz reads this thread!!

It may be the only thing that can save Electro-Stylus, Inc., and thus my investment portfolio!

Paul Levitz reads books. I heard it on that podcast earlier this week. What an iconoclast! And he looked so normal when I saw him in one of those JLU disc "extras" last year, too. Tsk.

I bet Shrinking Violet used to dot her i's with little hearts.( before all that kidnapping & sense-deprivation business. )

Posted by cleome on :

She kept the hearts later on, rhino. Only they had arrows through them. Really big arrows.

The 7-year old and I tried to get Timber Wolf's autograph at C2E2 today, but...well, you see what happened.

You MET Yildiray and Paul!?!
Please "Tellus" about it!!

Posted by doublechinner on :

Yes, I met them!!!!! <Fan boy squeeee!> It was very brief -- it was the end of their time at the counter. I had to practically shove Mark Waid and some other nobody (Phil Hester?) to get them to stop hogging Paul Levitz. Yes, Mark Waid is a convention guest hog! I always knew it.

Yildiray is a charming fellow. He seemed pleased (I think) that I asked him how to pronounce his name correctly (something I had been obsessing about). It's Yil-di-RYE CHEE-nar, as best I can tell. He did the sketch of Timber Wolf at the 7-year old's request. There was a fellow behind me with kids, too, and I'm pretty sure he was Turkish. Both guys faces lit up when they started talking.

Mr. Levitz acted delighted to meet us. My son managed to put him in his place with the comment "I didn't know the Legion was in a comic book!" We talked for awhile about comics to read with kids. He recommended Lee & Kirby, and I told him I was hunting for an old trade with the original Galactus saga in it. His eyes lit up and he agreed that was a good one. We then debated whether the "ultimate nullifier" or the teeny doohickey, as I called it, was a good way to end the story. He's eager for fan feedback on his new Legion stories, saying "I'm easy to find."

As you can tell, I did nada to pump them for story hints and spoilers. I was totally overcome a la Chris Farley Show, and enjoying the chance to meet Paul after all these years. He looks very excited and happy.

How exciting, doublechinner. Watch out, Mark Waid...

I'm so thrilled for you, doublechinner!!
Thanks for sharing details!!

Did you get a 'scent-trace' for your collection doublechinner?

Posted by doublechinner on :

Hah! I think that would be illegal in Illinois.

Posted by MLLASH on :

That's so cool, DC! It would make my millennium is Mr. Levitz were to post on LWorld.

Posted by Crymsun on :

I invited him to the board on his facebook page. Hopefully he'll stop by soon!

Posted by MLLASH on :

Awesome!!

Posted by Crymsun on :

Paul responded by saying...

"Thanks--I've visited a few times, but will certainly stop by to see what you guys are saying after #1 comes out."

Woo-hooo!!

Jeepers H. Tutu! That would be awesome indeed!

And he's visited before! I always knew he was lurking!

That's Yildiray Cinar on the left. This was originally posted on facebook, and was posted by Cinar. It's from C2E2

Awesome!

Crymsun, can you also ask Yildiray (on Facebook) to join here and maybe sneak us a preview or two?

Posted by Crymsun on :

Sure!! I'll let ya know what he says.

Posted by Janarrah1 on :

Does anyone have a list of the Legion roster that will be in Paul's Legion?

Posted by Nightcrawler on :

Unless someone else joins between then and now -

Cosmic Boy
Saturn Girl
Lightning Lad
Duplicate Damsel
Phantom Girl
Chameleon Boy
Colossal Boy
Brainiac 5
Superman
Ultra Boy
Star Boy/Man (I'm going to assume his time on Earth-22 aged him more than the rest of the Legionnaires)
Shrinking Violet
Sun Boy
Bouncing Boy
Mon-El
Matter-Eater Lad
Element Lad
Lightning Lass
Dream Gurl
Sensor Girl
Shadow Lass
Timber Wolf
Wildfire
Tyroc (Among the missing that should show up along with Dream Girl)
Dawnstar
Blok
Invisible Kid
Black Witch
Polar Boy
Tellus
Quislet
Night Girl
Chameleon Girl
XS
Gates
Earth-Man

That's 36 Legionnaires. Is that the biggest line-up we've seen?

Posted by Crymsun on :

I'd assume that not all of those Legionnaires will be full time.

Bouncing Boy and Duplicate Damsel will probably go back to teaching at the Academy.

Black Witch and Blok are living on Sorcerer's World... Indefinite Leave of Absence?

I'm guessing Tyroc and Matter-Eater Lad won't be full time.

And.. I hope... the Earth Man thing is only temporary.

So.. if my guesses are right, that leaves us with 29 active Legionnaires... over the limit Earth allows, which is 25.

Posted by Crymsun on :

But i guess if Rokk, Imra and Garth go back into retirement, that would make 26... 25 if Lydda leaves with Rokk.

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Do we know if Star Man's going to remain in the JSA?

Posted by Crymsun on :

Oh wow.. hadn't thought of that! He hasn't been in their book for quite a while, so I doubt it.
