Do you see ANY similarities between these two characters? Other than the fact that Timber Wolf has no adamantium claws?!
NOTE: Wolverine is a member of the New Avengers,so do you think Timber Wolf should be a member of the Justice League?

Dave had created the character of Wolverine.
Seen here to the right of his sister, Belladonna, as a member of the (recently named) Strangers, a group of villains that were to plague the Legion if Dave hadn't been lured to Marvel away from the Legion.
According to Dave when he went to Marvel, he had discussed many of the characters he had already created including Wolverine with many of the staff, Roy Thomas & Len Wein among them. Shortly thereafter Roy had Len create the Wolverine we all know for an issue of the INCREDIBLE HULK.

Wow thanks Gary, that's cool. You can see a lot of elements that later went into the Shiar empire/guard and the Starjammers in that.

The art at that time was pure dynamite! Its hard to believe that was done that long ago...There is a subtle reminder of Lilandra in the Belladonna character - no doubt the precursor to the later Shi'ar Empire graphics.

And that proto Wolverine ended up at Marvel as fang.
Maybe DC should buy these characters from Dave today and have them as a new villain team for this Legion. (well Tyr already is in DC)

That great illustration just confirms what we all already know - Dave Cockrum is a great artist and was way ahead of his time!
