DC has posted the cover for Adventure #525 featuring Dragonwing. It's really cool. I wish I knew how to post the link, maybe one of you could do it for me. The cover also shows Mandalla, Westerner and a flying Urk. And best of all it shows Night Girl and Power Boy battling a rampaging elephant at the Legion Academy! Can't wait for this issue to come out!

And what is Shadow Lad doing there? I thought he left the Academy, got married to Lady Memory, and is now the official Talokian Planetary Champion.
I also wonder if we'll ever find out the backstory of who and what Urk and the Flying Box are.

Didn't that stuff happen in a timeline that no longer exists? Or what that part of the 'Magic Wars' stuff, of which I know less than nothing...

A part of me almost doesn't want to know. They are kinda fun background elements.
At this point, the truth is almost inevitably going to be less fun than the crazy speculation.
Anywho, gosh, I love Dragonwings' cape-holo-dragon-thingie. I could see most artists shying away from drawing something so complicated as a costume element.

The Shadow Lad storyline took place before the Magic Wars and was featured in Tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes which ran along side of the regular series.
As for Urk and "Box" we should take a poll and give the results to Paul Levitz.

You may be thinking of a different story. Lady Memory tried to kill Shadow Kid in that Tales story and by the end she and Persuader were defeated and it never definitively says if he's staying or not. There wasn't any marriage.

Yes, it probably won't happen at all since his marriage to Memory was predicated on Lar dying and Shady going into deep and protracted mourning in a Talokian nunnery and refusing to function as the Champion.
Pretty cover is right! Phil and Andy were born to draw the Legion.

I think Matter Eater Lad should adopt Urk as his pet, just like Chameleon Boy adopted a small alien with the same powers as him as his pet. Then he could join the super pets!

so that means that the Adv Comics #526 would have either Chemical Kid or Variable Kid on the cover....then #527...hmmm... hmm well I hope so! thats optimisticism in me.

That is a gorgeous flipping cover! I hope DC is smart enough to keep Phil on Adventure for a very long time...

Too bad those lovely shots of the Legion Academy at the top of each of Phil's covers are being ommited from the final covers.

I really like this cover design system that Phil is using on this book. It's really eye-catching and stands out on the stands.

Me too. It's a great homage to Adventure #300 w/o being a direct riff. OH!! I just realized that those shots of the Legion Academy at the top on each of the issues are all the same, except at different times of the day/night. Cool!!
