As I've posted elsewhere, I'm not following the Blackest Night main event. However, I pick up the crossovers for the books that I have on my pull list.
Adventure Comics #7 is the best of the Blackest Night issues that I've read so far. Tony Bedard is one of those writers that DC has learned to lean on for bridge issues between creative teams. That appears to be his function here on Adventure #7, and he fills the role well. We get a nice recap of Superboy's origin and career.
Bedard did a good job of explaining "the Blackest Night thing". I read all three issues of Blackest Night: Wonder Woman, and was honestly a bit confused about what exactly happened to Wonder Woman. That wasn't a problem here. Bedard clearly stated that Nekron kept Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and other heroes (to include Conner) from dying a permanent death. This made them sleeper agents, explaining their transformations. Whew, that simple, straightforward explanation helped save me a few brain cells.
I'm a fan of the Cassie and Conner relationship. It was handled well here. Bedard also continued to build on the relationship between Suberboy and Krypto. The whole story tied nicely into events from Legion of Three Worlds. Solid pencils by Travis Moore. My only complaint is that it was a pretty quick and light read for $3.99.

To support Johns and the Blackest Night event, that same explanation was also given in the BN series (which you stated you were not buying). So the problem must have been with the WW mini. I really am enjoying BN for its straightforward writing compared to Final Crisis...
But I skipped the Adventure books without the Legion in it. Just to make a point. Doesn't sound like this issue is important to the Legion after all.

And Krypto was a member of the Legion of Super-pets (although that might have been an alternate version of Krypto or no longer in continuity, but still...)

Good issue overall ... I'm not loving Blackest Night as a whole, but I did enjoy how the event was used in this issue to explore the deep connection between Conner and Cassie ... Travis Moore did a nice job with Conner and Krypto, especially on the last page, but I miss Manapul ...

This is the first artist I've seen that actually makes me kind of like Cassie's uniform. I know the story's meant to make the reader feel the trust and fear and need to contact/communicate between Connor and Cassie, but for me it's not the moments when those characters conflict or align that resonates, it's not Superboy's finally accessing freezebreath, it's all Krypto. The Black Lantern ring records "Will. Love. Rage. And no Fear at all."
Anybody who's had a dog will most likely recognize those 'emotional spectrum' sensings as true. Not sure how Krypto figured out how to 'dig' in just the right spot, though. I love Krypto as a super*dog* with a recognizeable canine intelligence, I cringe a bit whenever he strays into more human-type reasoning.
Then again, I've had a dog or two that would sometimes do decidedly un-animal like things.
Such actions should be kept to a minimum, though.
What a team Superboy, Wonder Girl and Krypto make! Keep them together in TEEN TITANS or wherever any one of this trio will regularly be appearing.
