Okay, let's see if we can credit some of the designs/scenes/ideas from the series to their original sources in the books...

For example, Brainiac 5's skinny body and longer hair are homeages to Coipel's version.

The HQ is a modernized version of the orginal upside down rocket ship.

The scene where the Legionnaires are all flying up to the big L symbol in the sky is an homeage to Alex Ross' Legion painting. A classic Legion image is to show them all flying in the same direction, usually pointed up and to our right. That was acknowlegded sort of, in the intro.

The scene where the Legionnaires' fists are raised to the sky is an homeage to Barry's similar scene in the current series.

Phantom Girl's design seems to be reminiscant of a Tim Burton design. Maybe from the Beetlejuice cartoon series?

Any other thoughts like this?

I agree Tinya looks a bit like Lydia from Beetlejuice. Her hairclips are from the Cockrum costume. Also didn't some colorists put black lipstick in her purse in the past? I seem to remember this.

The pictures in the Superman museum looked like stylized versions of Curt Swan panels.

Superman flying at the screen in the opening credits looks just like the cover to The Legion #27 cover.

Though just because something looks similar, doesn't mean it's an intentional homage, it could be just an iconic image - for example, you've got a lot of people in the Legion, so you can show them either flying to the left, the right, or up.

I looked for one that might be Swan-like, but most looked more like Wayne Boring to me, especially the one where Superman is fighting a dragon-monster thing. The flying leap with one leg up, so that all you can see of it is from the kneecap down, is a classic Boring pose.

I think the Superman picture where he's breaking off the the chains around his chest is a rendering of the cover to first issue of the post-Weisinger Bronze Age run.
