Your link goes to your own PC, and that, unfortunately, won't make it available over the broader Internet.
Try setting up a free account for yourself at ImageShack, then uploading the picture with your browser. The site will then provide you with an IMG-tagged code to allow you to display it here. (If it's wider than 300 pixels or so, use THUMB instead of IMG.)

Actually, in order to display an image here, you need to upload it somewhere on the Internet.
We have an Album feature that you may use for such purposes. When you log into it please delete the password it gives you completely and replace it with your own.
[EDIT: Or try what Grey says. ]

Dope! I have an account at DeviantArt; will that suffice? Forgive a time-challenged neanderthal, but all I'll have to do then is place it's address on the required URL, right?

DeviantArt has recently been balking at what you're trying above, "hot linking," where you place an IMG or THUMB code here at LW.net to display it, and it's called up remotely from there. You can try it, but DA hot links haven't worked recently at other message boards.
You can, o'course, just provide the link openly to your piece at DeviantArt (use the URL tag, or put it in the open), and people here can click on it to see it there.
