The Eleventh War, The Dreamer and the Princess
The Nebulae News was privately run by Mortimer Thracker Heur and his Twelve World Web Entertainment and Medie Group and it was known that he had a personal agenda when it came to reporting any story involving the Meta teams or Militia of the UP. The slightest wiff of troubles and his liberal soft-headed bleeding heart morality had a fit! Consequently he was not renowned for being one of my greatest fans and his reporting of the so called Greatest Trial the Galaxy Never Saw, as it has been called since, was not exactly fair, let alone Willing to Embrace the New Galactic Milleau, as their slogan once read.
The headline in one edition read "Sack Dak!!" and the first 6 screens were full of an editorial asking, pleading with and even ordering Kord Das to get rid of me before the public lost what shred of faith they had left in his Dream.
How we laughed the next week after Mortimer Thracker Heur and the sixteen members of the Board of Twelve World Web Entertainment and Media Group were arressted and subsequently jailed for intentionally trying to encite a riot.
I declined to give evidence in that trial.
It was noted that the Novae News, Space Truths and all the other Pap vultures started showing us all a wee bit more respect after that.
As I approached the courtroom for my own trial it didn't take Hyper Senses to feel the Cool Down Fields on the thousands of Beings who lined the streets and galleria of Green Town. I was tempted to fly off from the Military Guard around me, even in their Battle Armours Gravity Nets they wouldn't stand a chance of catching up with me.
I played by the stupid rules and allowed the full Escort , though as I got within a mile of the Court House I was surprised to see several members of the Carggg People's Planetary Protectorate in the crowds. They made no secret of who they were and the crowd parted before them as the walked parallel to me, only a few metres from the Army's escort, up towards the awaiting blizzard of Eyespys and Telltales. The sight that awaited us as we entered the Square of Liberty has been greatly reported since.
It was awesome.
The sight of that many Beings in one space, only several hundred metres accross, was truly electricifying! There were representatives from all the major planets. The banners that they projected into the air around the square ranged from the "Sack Dak!!!" to the "Blackstar back to kick nass!".
As I walked slowly accross the street, allowing myself to be filmed from every angle by the truly amazing amount of Eyespys a Naltori Soothsayer in long blue robes nodded at me and mouthed "well done!" as I passed. The Gil'Dish Pan were present in their opaqued orbs. There were a few of the Wandering Stars watching solemnly, but none that I recognised as a Thane of the Princess. Two of the Sol Defence League were trying to give interviews as I approached but both were smallfry today and they soon found themselves bereft of the attention they wanted. Two Green Lanterns stood on the edge of the roof of the Court House and saluted me as I approached. The Thanagarian Ambassador was obviously talking to one about such important issues that he looked genuinely pleased when the crowds roar stopped any chance of having to listen to any more.The Leviathon known as Atlas was stood close to the grand steps assisting the Sol Police force to keep the crowds back from my route. In the air amongst the flotilla of Eyespys and Police there hung three Kenroshi and perhaps my favourite memory of the day was that several hundred metres above them were my old friend's Silver Crow and Shaman's Daughter of the Starhaven Freetraders.
And of course there were several thousand other Beings from as many worlds as I could name.
It was going well until the Daxamite Army decided to fly down to join us.

The Cool Down Field became a Clamp Down Field and the Green Lantern of Sector 3416, a Durlan called Widdid Spood halted the approaching phalanx of flying Daxamites with a projected thought shaped through his emerald ring into a giant "STOP!" sign and Telepathwayed querie about their intentions.
Sacchev laughed to himself as the hair trigger nervous guardsmen about him barely held their rank.
He wasn't laughing two hours and twenty minutes later when the Xanthu Adjudicator had finished questioning him. Or three hours later when the Coluan Adjudicator had finished with him. Or at any point that day until in early evening Commander Cruiser announced that Mega had come out of the Genetherapy tank without any need for further corrective DNA surgery. Sister Paragon was the first to visit the recovering Imskian warrior.
The golden Tamaran Princess spent the whole day stood eight feet from Sacchev, never meeting his eye for more than a brief second but always radiating a feeling of support. The Tharnian representative, an eager looking Gorilla called Glorion Grundy whispered her many questioned and clutched to his chest a small stone carved like a beetle. It took most of the day for the revelation to strike Sacchev that the newest member was actually recording this day with the item in his hand. Dak wondered if he knew the penalty for such a flagrant breach of the courts ruling that this was to remain behind closed doors and as the Coluan called for a break in the proceedings for an evening meal he thouight it probably best if he didn't tell Glorion anything as anyone might overhear.
Throughout the whole day Kord Das stood in his ceremonial robes and said nothing.

Enjoying the read, Harbi. Too many possibilities to choose with where you're going with it - but it's bound to be good wherever you go. You have a very bad / good habit of leaving us with a bit of a cliffhanger. Keeps us coming back, I suppose.

This morning the speculation on whether or not Dak Sacchev would be recalled before the Grand Tribunal has been answered by the announcement that he would again be walking from the Greentown UP shop to the Court Room at 8-30am local time.
I can report that the crowds had barely dispersed from the day before when the announcement was made and within an hour the local Police force had official stated that any Being trying to approach within a miles radius of the city would be Clamped Down.
It is widely acknowledged that the Police force are just as worried by the thought of the crowd breaking out into a riot as the thought of Black Star hurting the crowd.
One local law abiding citizen was quoted saying he is worried as there is no protection for the Townsfolk if Sacchev decides he wants to "eat another Planet". We at the Novae News are happy to report that to alleviate the crowds fears Sparkzz and Kid Mental of the Sol Defence League, Gimallon of the Imskian Leviathons and several of the Carggg PPP have volunteered to march alongside the Black Star to keep the public safe in case he does turn rogue.

As Dak Sacchev just marched past to the defiant roar of the crowds he was accompanied by Triple Cubed and Triple Storm of the Carggg PPP, Kid Mental and Sparkzz of the Sol Defence League, a Green Lantern from Gil'Dishpan, Gimallon of the Leviathons, three Kenroshi and a platoon of the Solar Black Straw Battalion. Surely even the rightly named Black Star - as he's hardly the brightest of Stellar objects - must have felt the level of repulsion, anger and fear that all right minded Beings feel towards him. The only Being present who seemed to be happy during the walk was the golden Princess who walked barefoot beside Sacchev along the entire march chatting and smiling with him as if he hadn't a care in the world.

Within a Light Year of Sol Prime there are 7 Green Lanterns, the Daxamite Southern Arm Fleet, The Sol Defence Leagues Star One and Mimicron, 34 Kenroshi Starsailors, over a hundred of the Starhaven Freetraders, members of the Wandering Stars and Triple Heavy of the Carggg PPP running practice drills and defence manouvres in case of a Grand Invaders strike. The old saying of "better to be safe than sorry" was heeded by the United Sol Council as never before.
In the process of holding this drill a Slave ferry full of Titanian children was discovered lurking in the Oort Cloud just past Charon/ War World.
Within an hour several un-licenced transport barges were found within the Jovian satellites.
Twenty minutes later and at least three dozen Oberdraw plantation 'stroids were discovered with the Asteroid Belt.
All in all it wasn't a good day to be a bad guy within Sol space.
On Mars there was a flurry of excitement when the 4D mobile H'dritki were spotted, the Wandering Stars and the Talokean Tribesfolk entertained the crowds with a show of their martial skills and later stopped an arsonist at the controversial World Reclamation Spew Point.
On Earth the sudden focus on the Meta human community's actions brings voices of support to Dak sacchev from virtually every corner ofthe world.
Venus' reputation as the Hedonistic Capital of the Solar System was checked out by Triple Wolf and Triple Horse of the Carggg PPP and a unit of Daxamite Soldiers. All are seen in the Seven Sins Polar Dome. There are only twenty two arrests that whole day.
On Media Tent One in orbit around the earth Rocket Joe and Lady Reptilla cut short there AmbaholMonth catalogue preview saying that they were needed elsewhere.
There were several other events that were never given as much attention by the all pervassive media but were of equal importance.
On Mon Olympus there was a special conference given by the Tribesfolk of the Talokean Resistance - the only planetary organisation to withstand an attack by the grand Invaders in the years since they first arrived in the Einsteinian Realities.
The Titanet was allowed access to the Sol Def Com Plan in an unprecedented move to track several wanted interstellar fellons. The Starhaven Freetraders were seen in conference with Titan's Deputy Listening Minister.
On the edge of Uranus' atmosphere a Green Dragon claiming to have a message for the Unseen Gorilla is given an escort to Earth by a Green Lantern and one of the Kenroshi.

Chapter 14.
The Eleventh War, The Dreamer and the Princess.
The walk to the court room that second day was the greatest Victory March I have even been on.
And we didn't even realise that the war hadn't even begun!
I was joined by the Princess, several of the carggg PPP, a ' Lantern and several wannabe Metas who wanted their faces on the News screensaround the System.
I only really remember the Princess. We talked as if we were on a picnic. Of course I knew that she can influence emotions with her aura but would like to think that it was a genuine feeling of happiness and confidence that I felt when I left her to walk by myself up the courtroom steps.
We had spoken about our lives, the similarities like how we were both brought up in the shadows of our legendary parents, hers was the Living God Auron, mine Lady Midnight and General Angus Heights of the Mars defence League, the predecessor to the currently rather limp Sol Defence League.
She told me about her anguish at being shot into the 35th Century by the Psion Clone Lords until she met the few survivors of the Creeping Dram epidemic and how that had given her a motivation and drive she had never reallly felt before. She said she had finally found "a reason".
Looking into her clear face I thought I had found mine.
I told her how I had retired to the Rimbor Oort cloud and set up a Sh'batali Green House 'Stroid with only the passing Freetrader or Kenroshi for company. She assured me that it was the Galaxy's loss that I had hid away like that.
I knew I had found my "reason".

Mega's Journal, syndicated by the Orbit, Planet Size News for Everyday Folk.
The carnival atmosphere on the street during the ten days of the Greatest Trial the Galaxy Never Saw was something that I had never even in my wildest dreams imagined. One aged local told me that the last time Scotland had celebrated for so long was after the legendary World Cup Win of 2014! Of course I had no idea what the dear old woman was talking about and my mind was more on keeping her hair off her face as she vomitted with gay abandon over the side of the Righteous Canal while I smiled and tried to hold a normal conversation for the attendant Eyespys.
On Imsk if that amount of Beings came together, even without the alcohol - that was illegal in otself on Imsk - they would be spending time in a sens-tank while their dependants paid their release fines.
I loved every mad minute of it.
If ever there was a life different from the monotony of Strivasava Iv this was it. Though it was unfortunate that the climate was just as damp.
We knew that the Princess had taken quite a shine to Dak and it was affirming to us all that he seemed to reciprocate. Of course we all respected Dak, he grew to become one of my greatest friends, though I do believe in the back of everyone's minds we were overly aware that here was a Being who could destroy a Planet!
On the march to the Courtroom with Dak on that infamous second appearance the many shouts of support and the well wishes I received, along with the H'tridki Hive Warriors popping in and out of time keeping their Queen's promise of an Honour Guard for me left me nearly in tears!
Again, on Imsk that would never have been allowed to happen, the crowds shouting at a Law Official, or the sentimental response!
I was so sprockin' glad to get away from Imsk that I had almost forgotten about the beautiful friend I had in Gimallon. He was there that day and it then that he agreed to be my Father Giver if ever Commander Cruiser made an honest woman of me.

In the end it wasn't my answers that the many Adjudicators were really interested in.
I was the meat for the Media's frenzied hunger. I was the Judas Goat to draw the many observors away from the real reason for this event. I was only another pawn for Kord Das to manipulate into place.
The court official seemed genuinely relieved when I finally stepped down from the Witness Circle and the Kanroshi Ambassador gave her speech about the centuries that it would take to rebuild theStream of Life but as all kenroshi "share as One the Truth around them" the race would ultimately become again what it once was.
What it was only two weeks ago?
Kord Das was finally called to give witness. He had stood in the Naltori Seer Robes throughout the proceedings, only occassionally whispering along Telepathways to the floating Kenroshi Ambassador. He had never once looked like he had had any doubts. Even when the Oan had arrived to bear witness to this hearing Das had held his chin up and never flinched from making eye contact or speaking clearly when contesting points of law.
Although we all knew that this testimony would finally settle the allegations we were fighting we had no idea that it would quite literally change the way the Universe viewed itself.
The first question about the lead up to the Dreahhgart Invasion and subsequent Massacre was surprisingly answered with "I did not see that".
The many Adjudicators seemed stunned.
I think we all felt a little less confident at that point.
The second question about Naltori Farseeing skills garnered litttle more insight intro what he had Foreseen. This led to a raft of questions on this often undervalued Psi skill and their practical applications.
It wasn't until the Xanthuan Adjudicator rather scornfully commented that Das had predicted "a Legend to match any of the incarnations of the Legion's of Myth" that he finally looked to be in control of the proceedings.
