I mentioned this in chat the other night, and figured I would go ahead and start it.

This thread is for sketches of LMBP or Legion World personalities. Have you drawn a pic of someone here? Post it! Do you have an idea for one? Do it and post it!

Enjoy!

The first one I have is a pic I drew of Cobalt Kid, which was colored by the wonderful Loser Lad!

Next up is our resident speedster, Beagle Boy! This was actually the second pic I did of him. The first had a costume that I designed, but this one features a costume that I think someone else designed, but I don't recall who.

Next up is Poverty Lad, and his gender-challenged alter ego, Princess Poverty [Wink]

Shift Kid is a former alter ego used by Dev-Em. He was a Durlan/Daxamite, I think.

Next up is the beloved Shadowplay in Candlelight, who was both a founder of the LMBP and one of the only truly female members we had in the early years (the rest of our women were actually men [Wink] )

Mllash went through a period where he possessed retcon powers (I think this was just prior to the first appearance of the lovable Lash Tot).

Next up is Galadhran, one of our first Aussie members, who has recently come out of lurker mode to post again.

Call her Thriftshop Debutante or Leap Year Lass, she'll always be Lester's Number One Fan!

He was still Icey at the time, but he now goes by the name Frostfyre!

One of the LMBP's most celebrated members, he is Lardlad!

And last for now is a couple of royal twins that you may have heard of somewhere (probably the tabloids).

A wonderful idea, Cru! Thanks for posting those delightful drawings!

I'd love to see the portraits freekinos drew of LMBers (miss you, freeky!) and the awesome LMB "Trading Cards" Dean did years ago posted here. Anyone have those saved?

Posted by Pov on :

Hie thee to the LMBP Outpost Galleria , Lash! I believe most of the images you mentioned are posted there in the artists' individual sections.

And even some of mine... [Big Grin]

How incredible, Spellbinder! It's always a treat to see your work! What a great gallery idea.

It's nice to have some 'faces' to match with several of the aliases posters use here.

Thanks for the link, Pov. Great stuff there!

Great costumes, Cru! Is that Space Tart with Cobie?

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Not unless she's dyed her hair.

Though my understanding is that Space Tart is hardly the only attractive young female to be seen hanging off Cobalt Kid's arms over the years. [Magnetic Kid II] [Wink]

While browsing my home computer, I ran across a few more...

First up is Raging Bull, who caused many hearts to flutter during his time with us.

Posted by Spellbinder on :

Then there was our "Other Matt", a guy called Omega Man.

Posted by Spellbinder on :

Then was Stu/StuRat/UTS, or as he was known at the time, Iron Rat.

Posted by Spellbinder on :

And finally, there was a little group photo that I did, featuring Beagle Boy (in the original costume I created for him), (myself in one of my old costumes), Iron Rat, Shadowplay in Candlelight (in my take on her original costume), Maxx (my brother's beau), my brother Crusader, and finally the beloved Seahorse.

Ah, Raging Bull.

Hey, Eryk-- there's Exhibit B for the case supporting your latently homosexual "Good Ol' Boys" theory! [Wink]

Posted by MLLASH on :

Or NOT so latently! [Big Grin]

Wow what a great set of drawings in the galleria. i've seen most of them before of course but some one should post them here in all their glory.

Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :

Lovely work, Princess! Just lovely!

Posted by Cobalt Kid on :

Cru, I love seeing your artwork, and I love all these pictures! Great idea for a thread! I've seen most of these before, but there are always some that are new to me--I've never seen the Raging Bull or Galahadran ones! Kewl! And I love that pic of me [Smile]

For those interested, there are a host of pics scattered through the Outpost and Yahoo Group websites. Several LMBers are featured, and they should be checked out [Big Grin] .

FC, Space Tart has blue skin and blue hair (which is sometimes dyed), so that's not her. Over the years, there have been a host of other female girlfriends for Cobalt Kid, including Princess No-Protection, a Carggite Gymnast (who also dated Loser Lad), Debauchery Damsel, Jailbait Lass, and a bunch of other ones with similar names. This could be any of them, or someone else entirely [Big Grin]

One of the best pics of Space Tart is by Dean Lee, which features her and Hummer Lass preparing for a night on the town. It's in the Yahoo Group somewhere (link in my sig). It's also after an established cat-fight between the two resulted in an ongoing grudge that led the way for the two to eventually become friends (and maybe even lovers for a time IIRC).

Here's what Spacey looks like (although I think the hair in this one is dyed black):

Here's a few more of those kind of manipulations, even though they aren't drawings. I don't have the art skills that Cru, Dean and others have impressed me with over the years [Big Grin] :

Cobalt Kid:

 -

Giant Squid, the Legion World reporter who was killed by the Royal Inquisitor:

Invisible Brainiac:

Poverty Lad (whose Martian, so anything goes [Big Grin] ):

I knew THAT... [Love]

I made this based on some really nice Legion anime drawings a loooooooong time ago but Grey mentioned it recently so I thought I'd share it with everybody here at LW.

Just so you know, you can't hyperlink from Yahoo. Try getting some free storage space at someplace like http://mywebpage.netscape.com

Darn it! I've been trying like crazy to find a decent pic host. Time to trawl throuogh that thread of Greybird's to see if I can find something useful.

There's the link if you'd rather try that instead.

Ok, I tried out that service. See if it works for me this time:

They might show up a little bigger than I meant for them to but I'm out of time for manipulating stuff today. I'll get back to this and fiddle with it in a few days.

Cool!
Now for the Impulse pic.

LOVE those animated-LMB pics, YK!

Posted by Yellow Kid on :

Thanks Lash. Those were one of my earliest graphics "projects" and a lot of fun to do. I've learned a heck of a lot about 'how-to' since doing those.
...and so has everybody else, Dean's stuff just blows me away these days...

Posted by Yellow Kid on :

Now I'm going to tryout this service and see what happens -

Sweet ass sweet!

Now I have motivation to finish off the high res original with a real background.

YK, I love those animated pics! I haven't seen them in ages, and forgot how great they look!

Dean, that drawing is a knock-out! Like Arthur said a few posts earlier, your stuff blows me away!

Yellow Kid, great animation.

Dean, WOW! -

Hmmmm... I had forgotten THAT one as well.

Remember that little interaction he had with Danny Blaine before my inaugural ball?

I think Danny swooned like three or four times! [Eek!]

I hope he didn't end up with inaugural blue balls...
