As someone who likes to keep up with the popular trends among the jet set, I've noticed that adopting orphans from third world countries seems to be quite the fad among the rich these days!
How long will it be before one of our favorite millionaire playboy/playgirl super-heroes latches on to this trend, and adopts their very own kid from Somalia or some `such land to serve as their very own teen sidekick?

Red Tornado adopted Traya who was an orphan from a DC Universe Middle Eastern Country, long before Angelina Jolie heard of Africa. Granted, Traya never became a sidekick.

Kato!
Was he an orphan? Eh, who cares, it's fun to scream 'Kato!'
(The Green Hornet's Kato, not Inspector Clouseau's Kato. Assuming they aren't the same person.)
I'd want my 'third-world sidekick' to come from Gorilla City. (Atlantis or Themyscria being distant second choices.)

Martian Manhunter would be a prime candidate for a sidekick from a developing nation (I don't think we have a "Third World" since the Soviet Union and the Second World fell). For all we know, he has foster children in his various identities...
