Okay, so it's a kiddie book just like the 'toon is a kiddie-toon.

What do I care, I love 'em both.

TEEN TITANS GO! #s 1 & 2 were well worth my money, I'm glad I picked 'em up. I'd missed Todd N's art since YOUNG JUSTICE ended... I love the visual gags that run accross the bottom of the pages, too.

So far, the book does a better job at balancing Robin with the rest of his teammates than the 'toon does.

Teen Titans-- LET'S GO!

i had looked at these 2 issues, but decided not to get them !! but i had thought about it, just for TODD's art !!

so LASH if you give your approval .... i'll "GO!" check it out !!

Matthew.

I didn't like it that much. Love the cartoon but felt the comic was "trying too hard" to be funny. Just not my cuppa.

Posted by MLLASH on :

Matthew, I think you'll enjoy them. Let me know regardless.

I'm gonna add the book to my pull, I think.

I'm surprised at how much I like the Teen Titans cartoon. I thought it was blasphemy at first, but when I actually saw it, I came out of my self-centered shell and realized that it was for kids, not adults who grew up on the Titans twenty years ago. When those kids get older, more of them will know the Titans from the cartoon than from any version of the comic. Isn't that weird?

As for the comic book version of the cartoon... well, the cartoon is free....

Lash, if you like Todd N's stuff, check out WILDGUARD! It's currently on issue #4 and the art is vintage Todd!

I've only seen one or two episodes of the TT cartoon and liked it well enough. I'm also enjoying the book, although I don't know if it'll go on my regular pull list. I'll probably just end up buying the individual issues that I like.

There are a lot of little things that I find appealing about the book, such as the visual gags on the bottom of the page. Plus, the looks on the TTs' faces on the last page of issue #2 were priceless. [Big Grin]

Anyone know where I can find .wav files of the TT theme?

Posted by STU on :

[grumpy old man] In the old days, we didn't have any fancy-schmancy ".wav files." We had to record our themes on a plastic cassette tape and we liked it that way, goldurn it! [/grumpy old man]

I kinda like the toon series, altho' it took me awhile to get used to it. I would prob'ly pick up the comic of Lash's recommendation.

I don't know where to download the theme song, but Puffy AmiYumi's entire album is actually quite good.

Posted by ActorLad on :

I like the toon despite the differences from the original comics. I still need to pick up Teen Titan's Go though.

Posted by Pov on :

Pick it up, any issue drawn by Todd Nauck in particular. The series and comic have been good fun. Last week's episode with Robin forced into taking Killer Moth's daughter to her prom was a hoot!

Posted by Pex the Unalive on :

I highly recommend both the toon and the comic. If it weren't for the toon, I wouldn't be reading the new "DC continuity" TT book right now, since it got me hooked on the Titans [Big Grin]

Posted by Cobalt Kid on :

Well I don't read the book yet, but maybe I'll pick up the latest issue (if Robin asks Killer Moth's daughter to the Prom, how can I resist?).

But I have seen the cartoon. Here is my initial reaction: Beast Boy? Ick! Cyborg? Ugh! Theme song? Aw, that sucks! Raven? WHOA!!! Hold the Phone! I like this series!

I think the way they write Raven on the cartoon is hysterical, and I love it! While I hated everything else at first, Raven was funny enough to make me want to watch it, and got me to enjoy it! Her deadpan humor is set perfectly against everyone else's wackiness. After being drawn in by Raven, I've come to enjoy Robin (easily) and then Starfire (a bit harder), and Vic too. It's silly, but it grows on you, especially after Raven drew me in.

I'll get back to you guys on the comic [Smile]

Posted by Pex the Unalive on :

Um, Cobalt, the Killer Moth/Prom story was from this past Saturday's episode of the cartoon, not the latest comic... [Wink]

Did anybody see this weekend episode?

Lil' Spoiler:
The evil Starfire Chrysalis eater in human form looked A LOT like White Witch! She was pale, dressed all in white, and had those googly eye wisp thingies. In fact I thought it was gonna be some kinda crossover until the character started trying to eat Starfire...

Posted by ActorLad on :

I thought the exact same thing.

Posted by Monkey Eater Lad on :

I think the episode with Speedy and Aqualad and a couple of other TTs is coming up pretty soon. I would if they'll make Speedy more like the original or more like Impulse?

Posted by ActorLad on :

Don't you mean Kid Flash more like Impulse? Speedy was the Green Arrows former sidekick. His name is Roy Harper aka Arsenal. He's currently a member of the Outsiders.

Posted by MLLASH on :

I still think the 'toon is just a tad too Robin-centric, my sole complaint, if it could really be called a complaint.

Fortunately, the comic continues to balance them out more.

Posted by Pex the Unalive on :

He means Speedy. Speedy was in the trailer for next week's episode. Although he had the "Arsenal" look, so I hope they don't call him Speedy. Sounds kinda dumb for such a serious look...

Man, I hope Terra doesn't wind up betraying the team as she did in the comics. Well, I expect her to, but I mean, at the end of the day, I hope she stays a Titan. The toon version of Terra is way cool! [Big Grin]

Posted by ActorLad on :

I saw the new trailer but it doesn't make sense to me why MEL would think Speedy would be anything like Impulse.

Posted by Monkey Eater Lad on :

Yeah, I meant Kid Flash but typed that post too quickly, sorry. Speedy always sounded like a better name for Kid Flash anyways...

Posted by ActorLad on :

The newest episode was ok but I think last week new ep were Terra joins the team was supposed to happened after this one.

I liked the first episode I watched, though. Not as good as Justice League or X-Men Evo IMO, but good enough for me to want to keep watching.

TT has good characterization even if the animation isn't as consistent as JL or X-Men Evolution. I like seeing guest stars and hope they keep them coming.

Teen Titans new episode bump!

So did anyone else see it? I'm watching the rerun right now. Terra & BB's date was sooo cute. Yeah, we all knew what Terra would do to the team but it was still heartbreaking. It would have been better if they had waited a few episodes rather it being in the ep right after she joined.

Posted by MLLASH on :

I did see it; first ep I've seen in a while and I LOVED it.

Yes, it was heartbreaking for Terra, for Gar AND for the Titans. A great episode and a wonderful lead-in to JLU!

The newest ep was "Fractured" & introduces Larry the Titan who is essentially "Robin-Mite". It's a a good one and one of the highlights is Larry's rendition of the Teen Titans theme. The name Dick is mentioned which is a tad odd if you remember any comment from the creators of this show about the Titan's normal IDs.

Posted by Loser Lad on :

I enjoyed the Larry episode, but the timing really seemed off to me. Here we're right in the middle of the "Terra betrays the Titans" story yet no mention is made of her in the episode at all. It's like they just threw a fill-in issue into the middle of The Judas Contract!

Speaking of the Terra thing, I really would have liked to have seen them spend a little more time setting it all up. She shows up, disappears for awhile, joins the team for an episode, and then all of the sudden we get the betrayal?

If I'm following the episodes correctly (I didn't start watching until a couple months ago so I've been watching through reruns on Cartoon Network) there was only one episode between Terra joining the team and betraying them. That was the "Master of Games" episode, in which Terra only had a 2 second cameo when the girls pop in at the end. That's it?!? That's the entirety of her tenure with the Titans? They could have at least spent a few more episodes showing her earning the trust of the team. I'm assuming that was all supposed to have happened off-screen, but it doesn't do much in the way of making her betrayal mean anything to the average viewer who hasn't read The Judas Contract and didn't know what was going to happen.

Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll wrap it all up.

Posted by ActorLad on :

The newest ep was Aftershock Part 1. We get to see Terra go full on bad girl. Although she has a battlesuit that Slade can use to control her powers and movements so it's hard to tell if that was Terra at all. Raven got a bit to mad and showed her Trigon's Daughter side while fighting Terra. Hopefully the Titan's will be able to get through to Terra in the next part. Although it seems that even BB might not want to any more.

Posted by Loser Lad on :

Terra won't come around. It's pre-destined. Though I doubt she'll die as she did in the comics.

I didn't care for the whole Slade controlling Terra's actions bit. If Terra's going to be evil, then Terra should be evil. Let's not muddy up the picture any further by creating doubt about whether or not she's responsible for her actions.

Posted by ActorLad on :

Well the fact is that we met Terra pre-Slade, she just left when she thought BB had told the team about her power-control issues. It seems to me she's so desperate to have control on her powers that she fell in with Slade.

My thoughts on Aftershock Part 2.

This episode "kicked in up a notch" yet again. I liked that it was shown through flashbacks that Terra was with the team longer since they didn't show it normally. Slade was his normal freak-evilness. I knew the ending would be hard on me but dang!

In the newest ep Cyborg went undercover at the Hive Academy as "Stone", a guy who turned into rock. He reminded me of a Colossus/Luke Cage amalgam. It had some interesting background designs for teen villains and even introduced Brother Blood.

I see I'm the 1st to post on the new one yet again. I would of thought different since we're currently on the Titans vibe. So we have a new non-Robin Red X. That's cool, although I wish they actually used a different VA then Robin's for the new one.

Posted by Loser Logan on :

I liked the episode, but one thing kind of bothered me. Shouldn't Robin have been able to easily beat Red X? After all, he designed the suit. Batman would have installed all kinds of failsafes. I guess Robin needs to pay more attention to his mentor.

Posted by Captain Yellow Jr. on :

I didn't realize the suit itself was so badass. Looks like Robin is quite the weaponsmith himself.
I noticed RedX was almost as acrobatic as the Boy Wonder himself, it made me wonder what Grayson might have built into that set of armor. That and the holographic projector is a neat trick.
Pretty impressive, I want one.

-I wouldn't trade a flight ring for a Red X suit but it'd sure be my second choice-

I liked how Beast Boy's board listed Jason Todd as one of the suspects...(well, he did start out stealing the Batmobile's hubcaps or something, right?) Interesting character. Like Harley Quinn, I wouldn't mind if he ended up making the crossover to comics (hopefully the septic tank cleanser "Rid-X" doesn't become a household name though...). I wonder if the writers even know Red-X's secret at this point or if it's something they plan on figuring out later.

I guess I'm the 1st one to comment on the new ep yet again. The highlight of this episode was seeing Blackfire again, not to mention the Robin & Starfire moments.

Anyone else see the new one last week? It was very "Fantastic Voyage" with Beast Boy going into Cyborg to fix him after he accidently gave him a computer virus.

Posted by Yellow Flash Kid on :

I have to watch every new episode on Saturdays with my son, it's become a tradition (virtually mandatory) so I see all of them. [Big Grin] Oh the horror.-heh-

It was pretty cute and it turned out that Beast Boy's plan did indeed save the day even though the Titans went outside the group for a way to fix Cyborg. Unfortunately I didn't see anything that I found clever enough to have to comment on with this one.
I always enjoy them though and the time we spend watching TT and JLU together is priceless.

My little girl hasn't acquired a taste for TT yet, but she seems ok with JLU (and Spider-Man.) I always get a few laughs from the GO! version of Gizmo so I liked it ok.

Posted by Yellow Flash Kid on :

-Sometimes I wonder if comic books will even exist when they grow up-

Yeah, me too. I like Gizmo...and I like Mammoth far better in the animated series than I ever did in the old comic.

Posted by matlock on :

Come to think of it, the animated Raven is much more to my liking than the original was. It took me a while to warm up to this show, but now I quite enjoy it.

Posted by TheGreenActingBug on :

Even though the new Raven ep starts in a few I have to put some thoughts down on last weeks.

I thought it was an ok ep and it was good that everyone was worrying about Robin's sanity. He's a little to "Dark Knight" when something has to do with Slade. If they don't actually want to bring him back this could be a good oppertunity to intro Jericho, Rose, or his other son that was the Ravager.

Posted by ActorLad on :

Arg, I can't believe how lax I've been on this thread. I need to get it back up to shape. Anyway here are some short thoughts on the most recent two episodes.

Titans West Part 1: It was nice seeing Aqualad & Bumblebee again but Speedy didn't seem anything like his previous portrayal in "Winner Take's All". Hopefully that will be explained as Brother Blood's influence. Mas Y Meno have seemed fun but the fact they only spoke Spanish was kind of annoying. Was it just me or did Brother Blood's Cyborg-knockoff Hive robots look a little like Optimus Primal in Beast Machines?

Don't Touch That Dial: A fun frantic send-up for the first ep of the fifth season on pretty much every tv-genre featuring the return of Control Freak from "Fear, Itself". Some highlights include a kind of Cosmic Boy-ish Luke Skywalker analogue and Baron Karza/Darth Vader amalgam.

Why in the world didn't they use Kid Flash in the Titan's West? They obviously did a lot of Bart like stuff in the scenes and I just don't get why they didn't "go for the gold" instead of using a knockoff. It would have really made the millenium for me if they'd have put KF in the series.

Is there some kind of deal in the works that has Bart locked up so they can't use him in the Titans?
(Remember Herbie the robot replacing the Torch in the FF cartoon?...gggrrr...and then there never was a TV series called The Human Torch so it was wasted effort anyway)

That said, I was entertained by the speedster twins. I couldn't understand a thing they said but still found them funny a couple of times.

Posted by Mystery Lad on :

I agree, YK... if they wanted the 'speed twins' effect, they could've used Bart and XS! One or both of them could've spoken Spanish, if that was an ingredient TPTB wanted.

Still, it's such a kick to see Bumblebee and Aqualad on TV. I wish they'd used these water powers when they 'beefed up' the comic's Aqualad/Tempest instead of his nebulous 'sorcerer' status.

Not crazy about Bumblebee's 'bb' guns, though (pun aside).

Is it a coincidence that in the 'real' TEEN TITANS comic, most of these characters are about to be featured?

Posted by Yellow Kid on :

Are they? I guess that means I'll have to buy that issue of TT for the kid next door, she's a huge Titans Go-Justice League fan. What the hey, y'know? It's a really small investment to encourage a kid to read.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

I was also jonesing for some Kid Flash action in Titans West. Such a tease to introduce new speedsters when there are several good ones already around!

It also would've been cool if Hotspot were on that team. I liked him in "Winner Takes All". He's original to the tv show, right?

Posted by Yellow Kid on :

I know. I didn't *expect* a speedster but when I saw there was one(sort of) on thwe team it raised the question of why the heck not KF?..or at least Impulse. Bart showed up on Smallville so it would have been a nice crossover hook for TTGo. Ah well.

Anybody watching the JLU?
Where the heck did that thread go?

Posted by Pov on :

Are people still watching this? I haven't been able to since I got my own place. Sigh... I really need to get off my butt and check into getting Satellite... [Frown]

Some interesting merchandise coming out tying into this. They're trying alot of different formats for action figures-- 3.5" with vehicles, 3.5" 2-packs, 6.5" "Super Deformed Pals" plushes with soft plastic hands, feet and oversized heads, and a couple of 12" figures. There's also several playsets and the like. Not your standard 6" action figure line.

And I'm still following the TEEN TITANS GO! comic, although I'm not sure how much further sales can drop before DC finally pulls the plug. [Frown] They need to get these in Target, like the Marvel Age comics I saw displayed there today.

[Bump] for #17.

Jeez, this book's got terrible sales numbers. [Frown] The only reason it's still alive is probably the CN tie-in... but really, how much longer can DC let this live? Sad, because the art is consistently great.

Aren't tie-in books like TTG sold outside the direct market as well? I don't believe Diamond's sales reflect that.

THAT was KEWL.

The Brain was so bitchy; I just loved him-- even that funny, 60s Star Trek-voice!

Mento was also bitchy. I found him much less lovable.

Posted by Mystery Lad on :

I hope this was part one of at least a two-parter. If not, that's a heck of a loose end to leave dangling.

Did Rita ever shrink? All I ever saw was growing, returning to normal.

Negative Man/Raven were interesting to see 'side by side'.

Mento/Beast Boy is reminiscent of Batman/Robin, I thought.

I always wanted to see Cyborg as a partner/sidekickish teamup for Robotman.

When I first heard about the Doom Patrol's cartoon appearance, I wanted it to be on JLU. After seeing this episode, I realized how many Titans connections there are, both literal and figurative.

Just finished watching it before I comment, yes it is a two-parter. We get to see the rest of the Brotherhood of Evil next ep.

The begining flashback was interesting and seeing the 1st time Beast Boy used his powers in such an extreme way was cool and his reaction was cute.

I liked Beast Boys Tuborkel. [Smile]

Rita seemed nice, Negative Man was cool, Cliff was ok, but Mento was seriously a jerk in this ep.

MM & The Brain I haven't really formed an opinion on yet.

Yeah, loved that first look at Robotman.
Mento was such a dork! Still though Steve Dayton always was somewhat rough on Gar so it fit. I wish Elasti Girl and Neg man had gotten a little more "fface time" but it was incredibly cool getting to see them in a cartoon at all. I have to agree with Lash "fanboygasm!"

I didn't really think of that as a "60's Star Trek voice" it sounded like Stephen Hawking more than anything (imo) but did you notice the 60's secret agent/James Bond action music style to the soundtrack during the big fight scene? It rocked!

It was a great episode and the teaser looked like there should be a second part to the story. I distinctly recognized Madam Rouge in the trailer as they ran the credits.

So is the Titans cartoon set outside of DC continuity, for if it is, then explaining why Rita (who is supposed to be "wormfood" by now) is featured in a starring role...should be a pretty big piece of cake! [No] [Shudder]

Yeah, it's pretty much set outside the regular DCU. I don't think there have been any characters appear that tie it in to the continuity in any set place during the series.

Nightwing has appeared in a Titans Go episode where Starfire was vaulted into the future and his costume has been seen in Batman Beyond which has been tied into regular continuity (loosely).. come to think of it, Dick Grayson was mentioned in "Return of the Joker" but as far as I can remember that's the closest connection I've seen.

Someday Robin will become Nightwing and Nightwing is known to have existed prior to Batman Beyond and he's a member of a future Justice League which we met during the Chronos episode of the previous Justice League series.

Does that help? I know it confused me just to sit here and type it.

I hate liberties taken by cartoons when they adapt from the DC stable either by character design or story ideas...I mean Poison Ivy over in the Batman cartoon looks nothing like she does in the comics

Posted by superboymddjr on :

well, there are some cartoons that I like better than in comics for instance - Bumblebee and Vixen - THEY kick butt in cartoon but in comics...boring and drab. Starfire, Robin, Beast Boy - better fighters with excellent combat skills in cartoon...but character-wise better in comics. so we get two worlds of it.

Have you ever seen the pre-Evolution X-Men cartoon? That had terrific animation plus the added bonus of copying storylines from the original Claremont-Byrne run...

nope i did not see that XMen pre-evolution and did not care about the Marvel cartoon show - always felt that DC cartoon shows are more entertaining and better than Marvel's. that's my opinion.

There arent a lot of black super-heroines out there - except for the second Captain Marvel, but Monica Rambeau's potential to be among the most powerful of AVENGERS was short-lived when she was stuck in energy-form...

Then you must have been hooked on "Super Friends" as a kid - altho IMHO it improved once Zan, Jayna and Gleek joined the line-up and proved they could kick ass as well as anybody...Thank God the JL ditched Wendy, Marvin and that kooky mutt with the cape...

I think that Monica is no longer in energy form...she's reverted back to a human being...I think...

as for Super Friends - yeah and they kept getting better when they introduced Atom, Hawkman, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Flash, Firestorm, etc. Loved that show!

Funny how they introduced Cyborg/Vic Stone as a new Super Friend...Makes we wonder if the New Teen Titans could have made the grade if Hanna-Barbera had used them as a cartoon, rather than the Sailor Moon-ish version that's airing now...

Posted by superboymddjr on :

Yeah I remember seeing him in action for the first time and I was in shock. Cyborg?!?!

There was a Teen Titans cartoon show for a brief time alongside Aquaman (his powers were very Mera-ish). Kid Flash's costume had a wrong color. completely red! supposed to be yellow.

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Oh yeah, the 1966-1967 Filmation version...Kid Flash had black hair instead of red...

Aquaman had this really groovy telepathy-thing going with undersea life.

Mera, i think, was there to supply a romantic interest, tho i didnt see much sexual tension of any sort. (what else could you expect from a kid's cartoon?) Poor Aqualad must have been so left out without his Tula...

Posted by superboymddjr on :

what I mean by Aquaman being a "mera-ish" is that he has a water power that he can create a water ball to fire at and can spin like the Flash to create a Whirlpool. So that's how I identified him as Mera in a disguise.

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Thinking about it in an adult perspective, that was a gimmick i could never quite swallow - but when i was a kid (and having no prior knowledge of the character) those tricks with the water ball and the whirlpool were awesome!

Mera got into trouble a hell of a lot...typical woman! [LOL]

Posted by superboymddjr on :

yeah agreed with you but when I waas younger I used to collect (and still collect) Aquaman books and I was wondering why can't Aquaman have a water power - and I was confused between TV and comics...(I was way younger like maybe 7 or 8 years old) even thought that Aquaman could fly (due to Super Friends' introduction and thought I saw him once that he was flying alongside Wonder Woman and Superman. Aquaman is one of my favorite heroes...when I live in Florida, I used to practice staying underwater for a long time - my best record was close to 3 minutes, beating out my Dad and my sister and made a staement that I was Aquaman's partner - Aquaboy. Heh.

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Oh god...what were they thinking by making Aquaman fly? [ROTFLMAO]

In a funny way, in the early issues of Teen Titans (before Tula came along), Aqualad's behaviour was a little "suspect"...

I think they need to take liberties. They're building things from scratch after all (for a new audience that is). But of course, some character concepts can only be stretched so far before it seems like they've gone too far (the last "Avengers" cartoon for instance). It's all subjective of course, but I liked X-Men: Evolution more than the other X-Men cartoon because I thought it was better written and the animation was a lot better, imo.

Getting back to the "Teen Titans" ep, I loved seeing Negative Man animated. Even liked his attitude. Speaking of liberties, I wasn't won over by Robotman's added bulk. He seemed more like The Thing to me. I'd also like to see some one-on-one interactions between the team members next time.

I respect your opinions, Drake, just as i am sure you would respect mine. The early 90s Xmen cartoon had better animation from the likes of Rick Hoberg, Larry Houston, and Jim Janes...and it freely adapted conceptual ideas from the Claremont/Byrne run...The "Jean-becoming-Phoenix" saga in particular was mind-blowing and the special effects were extraordinary.

Whoa!!! did anyone see the new epidsode of the Teen Titans tonight? Madame Rouge....Monsieur Mallah....but there was one surprise that threw me off guard - the appearance of General Immortus! I saw Phobia near the end of the show....and Jericho, Kole and they went too fast...I wish they show one more time! Looks like Deathstroke may work for the Brain....alongside Mad Mod, Plasmus, Johnny Rancid(? that name right?), Mother Fairy (can't remember her name - the one who put the Teen Titans in a giant pie to be cooked...), Jinx, Mammoth, Gizmo (I am still waiting for Shimmer to appear!!), and many villains I cannot name because it went too fast too! Anyone caught any unusual villains or heroes? I thought I saw Bushido but was not sure of it.

Good 2nd half for a 2-parter. I liked how they did Madame Rouge. I was glad when Beast Boy finally told off Mento and snapped him out of his funk. More Rita and Negative Man was good. Raven's reaction to learning Beast Boy's real name was priceless. I can't wait to see all the upcoming guest-stars.

Next week is Robin helping out Hot Spot and Wildebeest in Morocco.

Because this while the cartoons are based on the comics their not tied down by what happens/has happened in the main DCU. They're their own seperate entity dispite one drawing inspiration from the other.

Cali, you'll be even happier to know that Micheal Rosenbaum will be voicing Kid Flash.

Are most of these characters you mention from actual DC stories - or created exclusively for the Teen Titans cartoon?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

A lot of these characters have been seen before in the Titans cartoon -- it's a mix of original creations and characters based on comic book characters.

Of the heroes image (thumbnail on page 8 of this thread), it's odd they didn't include Kid Flash since he's seen on one of the monitors last week.

Regarding "Trust":
Great episode! I had no idea who Joto was, but I love Hotspot (maybe partly for certain similarities to a certain hotheaded Legionnaire...??). I'm glad he didn't come off as just cannon fodder even though I pretty much knew Madame Rouge would have to win at the end. He still put up a great fight and showed that he's a power to be reckoned with.

Was Joto able to "flame on" the way Hotspot does or was that something they came up with for the cartoon?

Let's see....

in DC Comics, we have Mad Mod, Dr. Light, Fearsome Five (Jinx, Psimon, Mammoth, Dr Light, and Gizmo), HIVE, Plasmus, Brotherhood of Evil (Gen. Immortus, Madame Rouge, M. Mallah, the Brain), Phobia, Warp, Brother Blood, Deathstroke, Terra, Thunder and Lightning, Hotspot (Joto), Argent, Bushido, Red Star, Wildebeest, Gnarrk and Kole, Pantha, Kid Flash, Bumblebee (truly kicks butt!), Aqualad, Speedy, and Jericho.

They ALMOST are all different from their cartoon counterparts.

The rest of the others are new and created for the cartoon...who knows maybe some of them will jump into the comics book like Harley Quinn did?

Ahhhh !!! found the answer to the villains line up pictures! here it is as extracted:

Again, found another tidbits which found me baffled: As extracted from the site:

"Any comic book Teen Titans fan can name the five original Titans - and they aren't Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg. The Titans first appeared in 1965, and a later flashback tale revealed their first adventure and core line-up: Robin, Aqualad, Speedy, Kid Flash and Wonder Girl. Comic fans have enjoyed the animated arrivals of Aqualad and Speedy since the show began. And word broke out that Kid Flash was slated for season five. But it looked like Wonder Girl would never make an appearance on the series. The creative team desperately wanted to use Wonder Girl - but due to legal and licensing reasons - she was not available for use.

But eagle-eyed viewers with freeze-frame will notice a special treat in Saturday's episode, HOMECOMING [part two]...

If you look carefully at the Brotherhood's viewscreens, there is an 'unidentified' black haired girl with a ponytail and yellow star earrings. This is Wonder Girl's first and only 'unofficial' appearance on the series. The viewscreens grouped the five founding Teen Titans together Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Speedy and Wonder Girl. It is the closest the series will ever get to the five of them appearing onscreen at the same time!"

I have a question regarding the legality of Wonder Girl...how come not called her simply "Troia" to avoid the problem of legality? Will it work?

On "Trust": Madame Rouge is one wicked lady and it was keen to seen find out more about Hot Spot. I wish Wildebeest had been in it longer though.

this night's episode with Kole and Gnarrk is kind of bland....not exciting or cool...just boring. Kole's power is just transform her into a crystal-like form like Stone Boy and acts like a prism? this is the first time I do not like the cartoon version of any DC heroes... It was kinda like a baby matter-eater lad. The ep was ok -- Raven's always cool and some of the fighting animation was kinda impressive - they seem to be doing something new with the "shaky hand-held camera" feel. I thought it worked well.

well....in my opinion, not really scary...but quite EVIL that kicks butt a big time - that's what made that episodes cool to watch.

As for the new episode with Raven, the episode is WAY too QUIET...perhaps the most QUIETEST of them all.

Posted by Mystery Lad on :

What was the pig-tailed girl's name? I thought I heard Raven call her 'Marvin'. Which would be the weirdest name for a girl I've ever heard.

Matter-Eater-Infant had a tooth emblem that looked just like ME Lad's SW6 Legionnaire one.

I was feeling a bit of deja DEO-vu, but I ended up liking *these* kids, I guess.

Monsieur Mallah wasn't nearly as intimidating and scary as he was in earlier episodes. Was the voice actor the same? He sounded different, to me...

I don't think there's another new episode the rest of November... [Frown]

I hope to see a Kid Wykkid/ Raven duel at some point.

This was a good ep with a very impressive Kid Flash (more impressive than the Flash comes off in JLU). It's funny, I was also perplexed by Hive Five's numerical moniker. Maybe they can't count...

saw the episode again today and I think that Jinx is moving up on my favorite cartoon villain list!! Hmmm yeah a reminder for tonight - I think - an introduction to DDD!!! Daddy Dong Ding!! ( i think I got his name wrong...correction is welcomed.) DDD !!!

it's Ding Dong Daddy....or is it Dong Ding Daddy? interesting episode....Gizmo, Mad Mod, the Red X, Johnny Rancid, Fang and Kitten, Control Freak and others needed to win the race to find out what's inside Robin's heavily kept secret briefcase. What's more interesting to me is that DDD has three elves...makes me think of what his origin is supposed to be. Overall, a good episode.

LL - I don't think so....ALL DC cartoon shows are being cancelled - JLU, Batman, Superman, Teen Titans, Krypto...that's really very sad. I already mailed to the network that my niece and nephew were not very happy - they wanted to see them instead of watching Zatch Bell, bobobobobobo (odd name, if you ask), IGLX, etc. It's important to mail to them since it happened to a few cartoon show being rescued such as Kim Possible and Family Guy. Try that or we never know.

There's been only one official cancellation this season and that's the Titans. JLU hasn't been announced yet and neither has Krypto. I think they've already approved another season of The Batman and there isn't currently a Superman series in production (although there are rumors of Superman: Man of Steel). There is still hope for the Legion and I really don't see them cancelling JLU just yet. At this point I expect one more season at least.

As to the Titans, here are the final three episodes and their air dates:

"Calling All Titans" on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m.

The final game has begun. While the Titans are spread out throughout the globe on one last mission, Brotherhood mastermind the Brain makes his move. Robin has a strategy of his own, but as all the villains begin taking down all the superheroes all at once, will it be enough to save his friends?

"Titans Together" on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m.

All seems lost for young heroes across the globe: they have been spread far and wide, their lines of communication have been severed, and one by one, the Brotherhood of Evil takes them down. But as The Brain claims his victory is assured, one brave hero manages to slip thorough the Brotherhood of Evil's grasp.

"Things Change" on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m.

After months of fighting the Brotherhood of Evil around the globe, the Teen Titans are finally back home. But a walk through the city reveals that things are no longer as they remembered. And while Beast Boy wants everything to be just like it was in the past, he has to face the fact that in life things change.

The characters not seen: Jinx, Kid Flash, Red Star.

whoa saw this second part episode - exellent show!! the best of them all....Pantha, Jericho, Mas, Herald all kicked butt!!! They re better than their comics counterpart! Kid Flash, Jinx, Red Star all made the appearances!

TEEN TITANS RETURNS TO
KIDS¹ WB! ON THE CW NETWORK

Popular Animated Series Joins Top Rated Saturday Morning Broadcast Kids
Lineup Saturday, December 1 at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT

BURBANK, CA (NOVEMBER 26, 2007) Kids¹ WB! on The CW adds even more punch
to its action-packed Saturday morning lineup with the return of the popular
animated series Teen Titans this Saturday, December 1 at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Teen Titans features five teen super
heroes each with special powers. Led by Robin, this group unites to form a
force to protect their teeming, sun-baked city from a new generation of
villains, while coping with the challenges of adolescence. As super heroes,
Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire and Raven are fully-developed, and when
they work as a team, their powers are formidable. But they struggle with
the typical teen challenges of sibling rivalry, taking responsibility,
jealousy and fitting in with the group. Teen Titans is based on the popular
DC Comics comic book characters; Emmy Award-winner Glen Murakami is producer
of the series.

³This groundbreaking series has resonated with kids since its debut, and the
series¹ action, style and inherent humor are a perfect complement to our
current broadcast lineup,² said Betsy McGowen, Senior Vice President and
General Manager of Kids¹ WB!

The December 1 airing will feature the first-ever episode of Teen Titans,
entitled ³Divide and Conquer.² Subsequent airings will not be in episodic
order. To celebrate the new year, Kids¹ WB! will offer a special two-part,
one-hour special episode on January 5, 2008 entitled ³Apprentice.²

The addition of Teen Titans will slightly alter the order of the top-rated
Saturday morning kids broadcast lineup. ³Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!²
shifts to 8:00 a.m. ET/PT in place of repeat airings of ³Tom and Jerry
Tales.² The lineup will now air as follows:

7:00 AM Will & Dewitt TV-Y (E/I)
7:30 AM Magi-Nation TV-Y (E/I)
8:00 AM Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue! TV-Y7
8:30 AM Tom and Jerry Tales TV-Y
9:00 AM Skunk Fu! TV-Y7
9:30 AM Teen Titans TV-Y7 FV
10:00 AM Eon Kid TV-Y7 FV
10:30 AM Johnny Test TV-Y7
11:00 AM Legion of Super Heroes TV-Y7 FV
11:30 AM The Batman TV-Y7 FV

A leader in children¹s programming, Kids¹ WB! continues to be a unique
destination for kids. Kids¹ WB!, now airing on The CW Network, has been the
broadcast home for such cornerstone hits as the blockbusters Pokémon and
Yu-Gi-Oh!, Emmy® Award-winners Xiaolin Showdown and The Batman, culturally
diverse series Jackie Chan Adventures and ¡Mucha Lucha! Gigante, and
breakout hits Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue! and Legion of Super Heroes,
among other favorites. Kids and their parents can find more information

TEEN TITANS Season 5 is out on DVD!

I watched the whole thing last night! It was pretty awesome! OK, that's old news for many of you, but I don't have cable ...

The Doom Patrol, the Brotherhood of Evil, the team-origin episode, Adventures in Babysitting with Raven (I have such a crush on toon Raven it's not even funny; even bigger than my crush on 2boot Triad [Embarrassed] ), and that heartbreaking final episode (Beast Boy, fresh off the biggest success of his career as a superhero, faced with the girl who may or may not be Terra) ... OK, I'm not sure I really needed to see a whole episode featuring Ding Dong Daddy, but it did have some laughs ... my only disappointment is with the things they didn't manage to squeeze into the final season: no origin for Slade, no origin for RedX ...

And something which I'm pretty sure will gladden the hearts of several people here:
an ad for Freakazoid Season 1, Coming Soon on DVD!

(So, if I read the maps right, toon Argent is from New Zealand instead of New Jersey? [Hmmm?] Wonder where that came from?)

I've been waiting for the season featuring the DP... I'll have to get this one!

Boomerang has been airing like, 2 or 3 eps. a night lately.
I'm really enjoying the later seasons with all the extra Titans in 'em!
