So the moral of the story is... Be creative and come up with great money-making ideas for the bosses. Let them have your creations. Let them make billions. Then when you are dying in the hospital, maybe...maybe they will throw you a bone. Enough for a headstone... maybe. F or is it EFF, "work for hire".

Will he, apart from whatever amount of cash, at least get "Nightcrawler [etc.] created by Dave Cockrum" emblazoned on future Marvel works? As is done with Kane for Bats and Siegel / Shuster for Supes? I would hope so.

I hope that he's getting more than just one lump sum. Neal Adams is involved, and he negotiated a pension and health insurance for Siegel & Shuster, so I hope that Dave gets the same treatment.
I also have to wonder if Marvel received some inquires into the matter from the mainstream media, and if that gave them the push which they needed to do the right thing.
