I found out a couple of days ago that the Pini's have made all of the Elfquest comics available at elfquest.com for free! If you've never read any, I really recommend checking them out. The earliest issues are a bit clunky in both dialogue and layouts, but it improves really fast.
Elfquest has been a huge influence on me artistically. When I was a kid I wanted to draw just like Wendy Pini. Unfortunately, in a small town with no comic shop it was hard to get a hold of issues, and once I grew up and had better access, the collected editions seemed too expensive. I'm really happy to finally get to read teh whole series.

yay! Great stuff. A big influence on me as a teen, artistically and thematically.
EQ was also an important and easily overlooked cornerstone in indy comics. The Pinis were true pioneers! (Lardy, do NOT go there...) I really doubt creator-driven comics would be the same without them (and Dave Sim) paving the way.... and doing it extremely well.
