The art and colours seemed a little bland for the "launch of a major event" but I thought the premise was okay.

Actually, that's Microbe - Night Thrasher's son.

I don't see the trash girl (whatsername - "Refuse?" "Flotsom?", "Debris?"). Too bad.

Night Thrasher has a son?!? whoa....that's unreal! I am soooo behind with those New Warriors membership. I remember those New Warriors when Marvel Boy, Namorita (not blue skinned), Night Thrasher, Speedball, Firestar, with Silhouette recurring appearances.

Saw the preview...'shakes head'. Why does death have to be so overdone in comics today?

Marvel and DC are on a roll lately...

meh. too bad namorita bit the dust. maybe she will survive...her character has been going through a psylocke thing nayways. don't see the other new warriors as a big loss.

after seeing the preview i can't help but say "what about the children?"

According to the interviews, there will only be a few deaths, and they'll be "meaningful". I can understand killing off a few characters to get the ball rolling (I'll give them credit for killing heroes rather than someone's family member as an "event" at least). I don't think Marvel will be tossing decapitated corpses on a pile, but expect a few more deaths down the line. Aside from various New Warriors, my guesses are:
-- Scarlet Witch
-- USAgent
-- Hawkeye (again)

I'm not interested in Civil War. Thanks to Infinte Crisis, I've sworn off all mega-crossovers from either of the Big Two.

Drake, I came to really like these three under DnA's work with FORCE WORKS. It would be a shame to see any of them fall.

I'm with Stealth. No more mega cross overs for a few years.

Anyone else read the last page of ASM531 to see who's getting blamed for the Nitroxplosion?

Heh. So all of Joe Q's calling for that character's death resulted in him being the one to make it. I wonder if that was his plan all along, or if Millar had that character live to playfully through it in Joe's face?

Oh, I wouldn't be so convinced he's "made it" yet - given his powers, he should have made it through the blow-up, but if he's getting blamed for it, he may be "made an example of", or get a bullet to the head from a vengeful parent (or the Punisher, FTM, who's meant to be turning up in a "big way")...
