Some hysterical stuff going on with John Byrne and Wikipedia (sp?). See Rich Johnston's article.
The fan written Wikipedia entries on Byrne are downright slap your knee funny

I haven't followed too much of Byrne's antics, although they're impossible to avoid if you read anything on-line about comics. This Wikipedia deletion marathon reads like a cartoon - the ones where Sylvester keeps trying to get Tweety, or the Coyote keeps chasing Road Runner....
History's always biased. At least Wiki admits that the entry could be biased. As one commentator wrote, don't these people have lives? (And here I am reading it all...! )

I spent the better part of today reading some of this...it's really pretty sad. Guys like Byrne need to understand that there's no freakin' way you can CONTROL the internet and that by responding the way he does only lends credence to the unflattering opinions.

Well there's the trouble. Canon's inkjets have always been based on "BubbleJet" Technology. It probably got insulted when he insisted on "BalloonJet".

The main Wikipedia article looks pretty innocuous to me.
Anyone feel like giving me some details of the carnage referenced in the original post?

It was something about John Byrne writing his own glorious version of a Wikipedia entry about himself, then other people editing it, and he re-editing it, and so on and so on, and the flaming discussion that ensued.

Cleome, if you look at the dates at the top of the thread, you'll see this thread is from 2005, recently pumped because of the printer thing. I wish I could remember some of the details, I only know it gave me a good laugh...
