When did Nic Cage just give up trying and become a complete ham actor?
Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad uninteresting bad.
I know it was supposed to be a fast paced frenetic blowout movie ala' Crank, since it was made by the same directors. But this thing... well, in a movie that uses the soul as a backdrop to tell a story, it was surprisingly without one.
Between this and Superman Vs. Elite that I got this weekend... it was a total loss.
Glad I also got Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.

Cage has been in that mode for years. I think since at least Con Air. Everything is just a parody of himself. Some actors can get away with it...he can't.

Yes he can. Do you see how many high budget movies he is in? Regardless of how people find his acting skill, he is constantly working...in really HIGH PAID JOBS!
He's a studio actor, the studios give him his jobs.

**Moved from Gym'll's to Anywhere Machine as this is a movie topic, not actually a comics topic.

Why is it that Marvel can put out LOTS of movies-- most of which like the Iron Man and X franchises, Captain America, Thor and Avengers, are HUGE hits...
while DC sits wround with their thumbs up their butts watching Jonah Hex fail and Green Lantern barely break even until the next Batman flick comes along?
BAH!!! Film versions of Wonder Woman, Teen Titans, Angel & the Ape, The Spectre and Challengers of the Unknown should already be in production!!
I suppose maybe Time-Warner is content to focus most of its DC stuff on TV (I mean, Smallville DID give us a live LSH and JSA) and animated direct-to-DVD films. I guess I could buy that idea.
But still... BAH!!!

well, why not Zatanna? Start it with her being young and looking for her father. You've got the magic thing, the comic character thing, tie it in kinda like the hairy pooter thing...
