Year Two: Loser Lad’s Term
Part V: The Never-Ending Tag Thread

Real History: There were many tag threads throughout Loser Lad's term as leader, as tag team threads were more prominent in this era than any other until Legion World. One tag team thread that stood out from the rest was a thread entitled "The Never-Ending Tag Thread" started by Lardy. Where the others threads usually ran about three pages or less before running their course, this thread was created with the idea of no ending and eventually ran about eight pages. At that point in time, eight pages seemed like an enormous amount for a tag thread, and each page was jam-packed with LMB ideas. There was so much that went on in this thread, that it is still difficult to recall every detail (especially since the thread is lost to us). There were at least over a dozen LMBers participating in writing it, and virtually every LMBer that was active at this time was used in the story.

In Continuity:

The Hootchie Hut is destroyed: The LMB attempt to solve the mystery of who destroyed the Hootchie Hut, although every time they leave the newly repaired Hootchie Hut, it ends up getting destroyed again. LardLad, Lash Lad and Space Tart are heavily involved in this case.

The Origin of Adriana McCloud New LMBer Adriana McCloud is inducted into the LMB, although there is some mystery to her origins. She is continually attacked by an albino midget toting a Rob Liefield-esque gun.

The Albino Midget with the Liefield-Esque Gun: Throughout this story, a variety of albino midgets with Liefield-esque guns attack the LMB, although it is unclear if this was the same albino midget each time.

LMBers sent back in time: At one point, Kid Therod, Faraway Lad, Shady and other LMBers were sent back in time, where they fought against the Keith Richards Dinosaur, one of the most feared creatures in history.

Who is Globe Girl? The long term mystery of Globe Girl is finally revealed, after she saves the universe alongside Silicon Sandra, and the LMBers discover the two are incredibly similar. Finally, Sketch Lad admits his dark secret, and tells how Globe Girl is actually 'his creation', based on Silicon Sandra. Globe Girl, although upset by this news, stays strong, but ultimately makes the ultimate sacrifice and dies fighting those attempting to destroy the Hootchie Hut.

Battle with the Khunds: While Loser Lad and others raced across the galaxy to solve the mystery of these various attacks, they became embroiled in a war with the Khunds. The Khunds demanded that the LMB accept Khund members, so Cannon-Fodder Khund and Dead in Four Posts Bob joined the team! Sadly, neither new member made it out of the first battle alive! Dedman, who was immune to dying like normal species, adopted the nickname "Cannon-Fodder Kid" for his willingness to sacrifice himself as nobly as the Khundian recruits.

Kid Psychout versus Salad-Tosser Lord Throughout this story, Kid Psychout found himself left alone on Earth with his motorcycle and baseball bat, eventually being ambushed by Salad-Tosser Lord! note- this subplot went on for pages and pages before being resolved

Biegeseid: Finally, the LMB came face to face with the ultimate villain behind it all: Biegeseid! Most especially offended were Sketch Lad (as an artist) and Lucien Lad, who was so repulsed by Biegeseid that he made an unprecedented move: he summoned all of his Brads and called them to arms, so that they acted as his personnel army against the fearsome foe! The entire LMB soon joined in and fought back and defeated Biegeseid. Even the entrance of Plaidseid, who still somewhat remains vague, did not turn the favor away from the victorious LMB.

Year Two: Loser Lad’s Term
Part VI: The Election of Crusader and Anchor Boy

Real History: With Loser Lad's term coming to an end, it was time for the LMB to elect it's newest leader and deputy leader, for the fourth term of office. The usual campaigning and mudslinging ensued and chaos reigned on the L* Board for a few weeks before the leaders were eventually decided. It was Newcru (later known as Crusader) and Dev-Em (then going by the name of Anchor Boy) who were elected the new leaders for the next term.

The results were:

LEADER: Newcru King

DEPUTY LEADER: Anchor Boy (a.k.a. Dev-Em)

ELECTION RESULTS

NEWCRU KING: 7 Votes
ANCHOR BOY (a.k.a. Dev-Em): 4 Votes
BEAGLE BOY: 3 Votes
LOSER LAD: 2 Votes
KID THEROD: 0 Votes *
LARDLAD: 0 Votes *

TOTAL VOTES: 16

In Continuity: After Loser Lad's term came to an end, the LMB held their next elections, and Crusader and Anchor Boy were elected as the new LMB leader and deputy leader. They were both sworn into office for the final term of the second year of the LMB's existence.

Year Two: Loser Lad’s Term
Part VI: The LMB under Loser Lad

Loser Lad's term during year two was part of the continuing trend of LMBers tightening their friendships, flexing their creative muscles and expanding as a group and an idea. This was the period that saw the greatest amount of Onevisions ever in LMB History and also, with Lash's term, had the most tag team threads (up until the opening of Legion World, three years later). The L* Board and the Yahoo Group continued to serve as the homes of the LMB, and the mission to spread the love of the Legion and tighten Legion fandom remained, as always, a strong part of it's existence.

Here is the LMB roster at the exact time that Loser Lad's term as leader came to an end:

Loser Lad (leader)
Crusader (deputy leader)
Lash Lad
LardLad
Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass
Seahorse
Rhino
Beagle Boy
Stately Wayne Manor Eater Lad (aka Zoe's Love Slave)
Sketch Lad
Dev-Em (Anchor Boy)
Looks that Kill Lad
Space Tart
Lucien Lad
Alternate Boy7 (aka Mightyfanboy Lad)
Midnight Son (aka Wildly Whining Boy)
Faraway Lad
Kid Therod
Kid Psychout
Foxy Roxy
Lexbose
Silicon Sandra
Galahadran (Lurker Lad II)
Princess Crujectra
Furball
Super Lad Kid
Graphics Lad
Dedman
Carrina Winters (aka Adriana McCloud)

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part I: Early Anecdotes and Adventures during Crusader's Term

-There was a strong decline in alt ID activity in the LMB, as Furball, Lexbose, Foxy Roxy and Silicon Sandra spend less time among the non-alt ID LMBers.

-With Cobalt Kid no longer an active member (now totally disappeared), Space Tart wrote their relationship off completely and enjoyed the company of other strait male LMBers, such as Kid Psychout and Faraway Lad. Still, she concealed the fact that her heart truly was broken. An even stronger, more independent Space Tart emerged.

-Adriana McCloud starts exhibiting strange behavior among the LMB, and they begin worrying about her irrationality.

-Crusader meets and starts dating the wizard Maxx. The two quickly become a couple.

The Death of Seahorse a mystery unravels as it appears that Seahorse has been shot...only for the LMB to learn that he is still alive and triplicating exponentially! Soon, all of the LMB begin triplicating, as their counterparts become increasingly evil. Starring a huge selection of LMBers during this time period. Originally a tag thread entitled "The Death of Bellbookcandle Kid"

The Bizzarro LMBers while playing around in Tsarin Kid's lab, Cobalt Kid, Silicon Sandra and Lucien Lad accidentally tap into a Bizzarro World...which accidentally causes half of the LMB to become Bizzarros! Only Crusader, Disco-Loser Lad, new LMBer Adrianna McCloud and a bizzarrofied Kid Psychout have any chance of saving the day! Interesting things occur such as Beagle Boy being transformed into an exact duplicate of Crystal of the Inhumans, and Lash Lad and Silicon Sandra having a hot sex scene! Many believe that this was all a nightmare of Loser Lad's after a long night of drunken debauchery, since many details do not make much sense...

The Primary Color Gang the LMB are introduced to a whole new set of enemies: the Primary Color Gang (Gay Green Giant, Blue Cheese Boy, Red Arthur, Kid Blackout), and their leader Yellow Kid! Alternate Boy7, Anchor Boy, Lucien Lad, Beagle Boy, Looks that Kill Lad, Faraway Lad, Dedman, and Adrianna McCloud go toe to toe with this team of super-villains!

Suddenly HUGEMANBREASTS! Hugemanbreasts reappears after being missing for months, and Space Tart attempts to calm and help him/her, although to no avail. Soon, LardLad, Kid Therod, Shady and Loser Lad are pulled into a huge battle.

Return of the Primary Color Gang The Primary Color Gang returns for another attack on what they now see as their main enemies, and Crusader, Lash Lad, Seahorse, Midnight Son, Zoe's Love Slave and Foxy Roxy face them! Kid Blackout is especially vile and nasty, although Yellow Kid, despite being their leader, appears to have his own sense of honor. Crusader wonders if one day he could be an LMB ally...

Wilted by the Dessert Rose Dessert Rose returns to find Cobalt Kid missing and her baby's father is still unknown. Angered, she lashes out at the LMB and captures Alternate Boy7, Dedman, Kid Psychout, Sketch Lad, Anchor Boy and Princess Crujectra, demanding that they get Mystery Lad to help her solve this mystery. She is eventually defeated by Crujectra and Dedman, as the LMBers have no clue where Mystery Lad is (yet another mystery).

The Super Red Army of Space! The Super Red Army of Space, and independent communist division looking to control all the means of production throughout time and space attack the LMB! LardLad, Lash Lad, Lucien Lad, Looks that Kill Lad, Silicon Sandra, Lexbose, Adrianna McCloud and Loser Lad battle them.

-Another LMBer leaves the fold, as Alternate Boy7 (aka Mightfanboy Lad) leaves the LMB to pursue other things and have a normal life growing up without super-heroics. Sasha disappeared from the LMB at this time, after a long period as a prominent LMB poster, and has been missed ever since.

Hummer Lass and LardLad and the Mystery Firebomber While battling longtime antagonist Hummer Lass, LardLad is told of a possible firebombing occurring somewhere in the city. Hummer Lass, in a change of character (although not quite so much) agrees to help Lardy find the bomber in order to stop the destruction, as Rhino and Crusader coordinate the effort. Hummer Lass' relationship with the LMB remains ambiguous after.

Origin of the Hootchie Hut The secret Origin of the Hootchie Hut is explored by LardLad, Loser Lad, Anchor Boy and others, as the various backrooms in the Hootchie Hut open up to portals throughout different dimensions and realities. Originally a tag team thread in the Super Hero Chat forum, which was lost to us.

-Furball takes time off from the LMB, and leaves the team. [note- Around this time, Dev-Em would stop posting with Furball almost completely]

-Graphics Lad decreases his involvement with the LMB. [note- Steve Lightle, as a creator, never became too involved with LMB Shenanigans. Like all creators, we are honored to have them apart of the group. In the future, we will look to them more as honorary members when ‘in continuity’, since it was would be very awkward to use them for story purposes. Outside continuity, however, they will remain part of the membership.]

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part II: The Continuing Expansion of the LMB

Keeping in line with their ‘true’ mission, the LMB expanded into other message boards to draw in new members. One message board became the brief second home for the LMB, known as the Super Hero Chat Message Board, after one of the moderators there contacted Loser Lad and asked if the LMB would join them. By this point, the LMB had made a presence among the internet comic book community (particularly Legion fandom).

The LMB became prominent at the SHC Board, and were given their own forum at one point, with Dev-Em as the moderator there. Activity there was strong for a brief period, although it began to decrease soon after. This also may or may not have been where the LMB met Yellow Kid. After awhile there was little to no activity, as having too many boards led to spreading the LMB too thin, and many LMBers became disenchanted with the Super Hero Chat Message Boards (especially because it was a very graphics-heavy board). By the end of Crusader’s term, the LMB had slowly discontinued its relationship with the SHC Board and gave up their forum, around the same time the L* Board was destroyed.

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part III: The First Anniversary of the LMB

During Crusader’s term as leader (which was a longer term as leader in real time than traditionally [over three months]), the LMB reached another huge milestone, and celebrated its first year anniversary. This was huge for the LMB, as no one could have predicted a year earlier that a growing online community, which seemed so new and so different, would grow into something that would last well beyond the membership of its early weeks. Friends had come and gone, and would always be welcomed back, as it now seemed that the LMB would continue to go on. Reaching this milestone of one year seemed to be the final step in cementing what the goals were all along—that a tighter, friendlier group in Legion fandom could exist. Ironically enough, this was put to the test in the following months more than they could have thought.

To celebrate this milestone, the LMB decided that each active LMBer would write their own version of the LMB’s origin, giving each LMBer their own take on how the group formed in its ‘continuity’. It is here, in the anniversary origin stories (as well as the individual origin stories) that you can find the origin of the LMB.

Earlier in this narrative, these stories were linked in this chapter

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part IV: The Time of Troubles

Real History: Midway through Crusader’s term, a variety of things occurred that had a very negative effect on individual LMB posters and the LMB as a whole. There was a continuous flow of troubling events that led to a decrease in posting activity from a large majority of LMBers, leading the LMB to a point where there was a possibility that there might not be much of an active future for it for the first time.

Rather than go into the details of these events, I’m going to include the explanations for them ‘in continuity’ to explain how things happened. The reasoning for this is to keep the focus of any negative events in the past and keep the history of the LMB as enjoyable as possible. If anyone thinks that I should approach this period in a different way, let me know, I’d appreciate the feedback. Despite any negativity during this period, it eventually resulted in a virtual ‘rebirth’ for the LMB and a renewed sense of vigor that paralleled its early months, allowing historical hindsight to ensure a smile at the end of this “Time of Troubles”.

Since all historical documents are biased by the views and opinions of the author, no matter how much they may protest otherwise, I have no problem in writing the history of the LMB is this way, with a positive view of it.

In Continuity:

Adrianna McCloud wigs out: After showing some instability in the past, Adrianna McCloud finally showed her true colors and exploded on the LMB one day, catching them totally by surprise and off-guard. Unsure if she was mentally stable, the LMB did the best they could to calm down the situation, but it was to no avail. Eventually, she stormed off, denouncing her once friends after making horrible accusations.

The Cowardly Attack of the Hyena: Former LMB nemesis the Hyena returned once more, this time purposely going after the much beloved Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass with his mean-spirited attacks. Loser Lad and Dev-Em quickly sprang up to help defend her, although the battle became one increasingly personnel and disheartening. In the end, the Hyena was killed and no one mourned his loss, although much worse was that Shady took a leave of absence from the LMB.

Wanton destruction and Administrative crack-downs: The LMB also found itself increasingly on the defensive, as the authorities of Earthgov in charge of the Legion Square began confiscating and destroying their property, as well as continuing to impose regulations on their activity. At this point, the Moderator at the L* Board began to delete some of the LMB’s most beloved threads, as well as issue warnings to specific LMBers, making them fear the possibility that they would be banned from the DCMB’s. This led to a further decrease in activity.

A Large Decrease in Activity: There was a continuing decrease in activity from many major LMB posters. Midnight Son, Kid Therod, Lucien Lad, Looks that Kill Lad, and a variety of others began appearing more sparingly, each having their own individual responsibilities outside of the LMB.

Down to Four: At one point, it appeared that the LMB was begin carried on by mainly four posters: Lash Lad, LardLad, Loser Lad and Dev-Em. Many LMBers would not be seen for weeks at a time, and activity reached an all time low. Missions were few and far between, and the enemies of the LMB watched on eagerly. It was at this time in LMB History that threads such as ‘*Chirp*’ and ‘Post in this thread and I will mail you $50’ began appearing in the L* Forum, as the four posters tried a variety of things to increase activity.

Exit Loser Lad: After this brief period, Loser Lad announced to the LMB that he would be taking a leave of absence, due to his responsibilities outside of the LMB. Sadly, he left his beloved LMB, but he left them a gift in his stead: The LMB Archives , a hall dedicated to the history of the LMB during their early years.

The End of the LMB?: In addition to Loser Lad leaving, Lash Lad, LardLad and Dev-Em all also underwent their own periods of decreased activity, bringing the LMB to a point where it was at its lowest. And then, when it seemed that the members on its roster would no longer maintain the level of activity they once did, a slow and subtle rebirth began.

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part V: The Subtle Rebirth

Seahorse and the Ratmage: It was the introduction of a new LMBer that kicked off the subtle rebirth, as Iron Rat (aka StuRat) journeyed to the LMB to join them in their mission. At roughly the same time, the longtime LMBer Seahorse began to increase his activity to what it once was, and he and Stu reopened LMB Headquarters and the Mission Monitor Board to receive distress calls.

A Gradual Re-Growth: Soon after, Iron Rat’s brother Raging Bull joined Stu and Seahorse at LMB headquarters to help reinvigorate the LMB. Raging Bull, aware of the legendary charm of Lash Lad, helped pull the most beloved of all LMBers back into the fold, and Lash Lad became active again. Another new LMB recruit, but veteran message Board poster, Lost in Lust Lad (Terrence) also joined up.

The Legion of Super Holograms: There was an increase in alt ID’s during this period for the first time in a long time, as Raging Bull, Insect Queen, Leeta87 and others joined in on the LMB madness. Even more, a new group of alt ID/LMB allies began appearing, the Legion of Super Holograms, which were [hard light structures based on] various LMBers.

They were:

G. Stallion - based on the image of Raging Bull. G. Stallion also began a relationship with Lash Lad, who referred to him lovingly as Gee See.
Picard’s Sexy Grandson - based on the image of Seahorse
Brad Pitt’s Sexier Brother - based on the image of Lost in Lust Lad

The Returns of those that never left - many LMBers who had never truly left the team, but decreased their activity, began to increase that activity to what it once was again. Soon, Beagle Boy, Lucien Lad, Looks that Kill Lad, Crusader, LardLad, Faraway Lad, Sketc Lad, Kid Psychout and a variety of others joined in on the renewed sense of hope for the LMB. For the first time in months, the LMB was thriving again.

Zero Hour : Before the LMB could truly experience a rebirth, however, they faced their greatest and most terrible challenge yet. The long-time threat of the Anti-Moderator finally materialized and threatened to destroy the universe itself and all the LMB had ever achieved. This final step to their rebirth would prove the most tragic and most heroic of all…

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part VI: Zero Hour

Real History At the end of Crusader’s term and the beginning of Seahorse’s term as leader, the longtime threat of having no home for the LMB finally materialized. With the Legion about to have one comic book each month, DC was combining the two Legion forums, the Legionnaires Board and the Legion of Super Heroes Board into one message board, which would result in the destruction of the L* Board. That meant that the LMB would lose their home, and they knew that the craziness they got away with on the deserted L* Board would not fly on the new coming LSH Board. All of the old threads would be deleted, but even more, the LMB would have nowhere to go outside of the Yahoo Group, which wouldn’t be able to hold the traffic that the LMB generated.

In the final days of the L* Board, Newcru began the tag thread (which he never usually participated in) called “Zero Hour” to chronicle this final fight for the L* Board, the LMB’s first home. I’m going to include what happened in that thread and how it affected LMB Continuity, alongside real anecdotes at the end that will explain the decision making and changes the LMB made in real life to continue its existence.

This tag thread still exists to this day, although it currently cannot be found online. Eventually, it will be added to the ‘LMB Archives’.

In Continuity:

Red Skies: At a critical moment that would decide the fate of the LMB, the reformed LMB were alerted by the red skies of the greatest Crisis they and the universe had ever known. Entire planets were being destroyed and realities erased, as beloved threads were being deleted.

The Anti-Moderator: It soon became apparent who the main enemy was here: the Anti-Moderator, the being they had been warned about long ago and had been fearing ever since. They had managed to dodge him for a long time, and now the catastrophic confrontation they feared was taking place.

The Heroic Deaths of the LMB: With so much on the line and the stakes higher than ever, the LMB prepared to make whatever sacrifice it could to stop the Anti-Moderator. Tragically, several LMBers would not make it through this battle and made the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the world:

-Foxy Roxy sacrificed herself to save as many threads as she could before entropy consumed her.

-Lexbose, following Roxy’s example, laid her life on the line and perished during the Crisis.

-Super Lad Kid, more a reservist than an active LMBer, rejoined his colleagues and helped fend off the entropy for as long as he could hold out. Finally an attempt to show that he was as psycho as any kid, he held off the entropy as lives were saved, until he too was consumed.

-Silicon Sandra, emotionally saddened by the loss of her alt ID sisters Foxy Roxy and Lexbose, followed their example and worked tirelessly to save all she could. Eventually, she too would not make it.

-The Legion of Super Holograms, still new to the LMB, continued to fight along beside their human counterparts. However, they too were caught up in the trail of entropy and G. Stallion, Picard’s Sexy Grandson and Brad Pitt’s Sexier Brother perished.

Yellow Kid destroys the LMB’s Headquarters: Throughout this Crisis, other dangers arose as LMB enemies capitalized on this moment of opportunity to hurt the LMB. Yellow Kid, head of the Primary Color Gang, used this opportunity to blow up and destroy LMB Headquarters; leveling the area it was built. This old LMB HQ would never be rebuilt again.

The Return of Lost Friends: In this final moment of grief, which looked like it would be the LMB’s last, some surprising returns helped give some semblance of hope. Ultra Jo, Goon Boy and others made last minute entrances to heighten the spirit of the LMB. The most positive of all of these reappearances was that of Grey Birdboy, who returned at the exact moment to save Lash Lad and Space Tart before they made the decision to perish together. Grey Birdboy had decided in these final moments of darkness, to wait for the end with his old LMB brethren.

Wonder Boy from the future: Time itself began to unravel, and the LMB soon found another odd ally: Wonder Boy, or more exactly, Wonder Boy from the future. Still months before he actually would join the LMB, this was Wonder Boy thrown back into the past and now ready to help his future allies as best he could. At the end of the Crisis he would be thrown back into the future.

The Time Mouse Trapper: After two years of constant battles, the Time Mouse Trapper now came to the LMB as an ally, willing to do anything to stop the Anti-Moderator. Joining Seahorse, Iron Rat and others, he used his power alongside the LMB.

The Final Battle: The LMB, reunited and strong once more, came together like old times and fought back against the Anti-Moderator. In a show of fresh strength and power, the LMB honored their fallen enemies and missing friends, and turned the tide on the Anti-Moderator, using his own entropy powers against him, so he would consume himself.

The House of Jectra saves the LMB: With the universe on the verge of destruction, the LMB waited for the final moments to pass. Suddenly, it was Crusader and Princess Crujectra, who had the foresight to come up with an alternate plan. They set their plan in motion and were able to reverse the effects of the entropy—saving the universe, and saving the LMB. Using this energy, Crusader erected the LMBP Outpost, which would serve as the new Headquarters of the LMB.

Epilogue : the Universe was saved and Crusader managed to save the LMB, and give them a new home. A reunited, stronger LMB emerged from what looked to be the most troubling time in its history. Some had died, such as Lexbose and Silicon Sandra, and some had been erased only to be reborn: Super Lad Kid, thought to be dead, would reemerge in reality in the past. The Anti-Moderator, once a powerful enemy was transformed into the weakened Robgoblin, although he swore vengeance on the LMB. Looking forward, the LMB were reminded of why they stood together, and prepared for future eras of greatness.

Real History
Sometime around the end of Crusader’s term and the beginning of Seahorse’s term, the L* Board came to an end, and the LMB were left without a home. However, the LMB had been worried about this for a *long* time, and had begun making preparation months ahead of time. However, the search to find a new board was not as easy as it seemed which is why certain boards like the Super Hero Chat never worked out.

It was Newcru/Crusader, as always, who ended up saving the LMB again and finding them a new home. Just like he did when he created the Yahoo Group, Newcru found a place that we dubbed “The Emessage Forum”, which was perfect for LMB craziness and would not be moderated in anyway by outside forces. The Emessage forum became our next true home, and is really one of the only three true homes we had (L* Board, Emessage Forum, Legion World). It would last us throughout Year Three Continuity, up until Faraway Lad’s term as leader.

Newcru also created The LMBP Outpost, an amazing site devoted to the LMB, which has served us ever since. In continuity, it is our headquarters, although in reality, it is our virtual museum of all things LMBP. Once again, Cru went above and beyond the call of duty for the LMB.

Loser Lad, in his parting gift to the LMB, created The LMB Archives , a site used to store old LMB threads that he was able to save. He continues to add to it this day from his files, and through it, has given us an excellent look into the past.

At the end point of the “Time of Troubles”, things really did look dim for the LMB—but then the LMB was able to rally the troops and stay strong, and went through a literal rebirth. With the end of the L* Board, sentimentality and determination led to a new focus on making the group strong again, and a bold new era ensued. Throughout Seahorse’s term as leader, this would be a focus.

Some of the continuity may be off during Zero Hour and the “Subtle Rebirth”, but things were often too hectic in ‘reality’ to fit ‘continuity’.

Crusader’s term saw the LMB truly end its early era, go through a true time of troubles and then emerge as a stronger, more veteran LMB.

Year Two: Crusader’s Term
Part IX: Year Two, an Overview

The Second Year (in continuity that is, since most of this period was still very much in the first year of the LMB’s existence—the ‘continuity overlap’ is the reasoning for this) of the LMB marked the continued growth of the group, the tightening of strong friendships, and a constant reaching for the goals of spreading the love of the Legion and strengthening Legion fandom. Throughout the year, the LMB continued to evolve from a group of online strangers with an odd sense of humor and common love of the Legion into a group of friends that talked about the Legion, comic books in general, life in general and their own personnel lives.

The continuity of the LMB continued to grow as well, as throwaway ideas and obscure references in posts led to the constant shaping of the fictional LMB universe, inspired by the explosive burst of creative energy that was so prominent in all things LMB. The period of ‘newness’ had come to an end and the LMB had established itself as an online community. This was also true for the fictional LMB continuity, which continued to grow from previous story bits and take on new ideas, going in a thousand different directions. New LMBers joined the fold and easily jumped into this.

Friends came and went, although they never left the memories of those who stayed behind—and they knew they’d always be welcomed back. Members like Shark Lad and Loser Lad would not be seen for some time, and some, like the Mightyfanboy Lad, have not been seen since. Other new members early in Year Two, such as Faraway Lad and Kid Therod had become old hat by the end of the year, and helped welcome new members such as StuRat. As the roster continued to change as people’s online experience depended on their everyday lives, the LMB continued to not only survive, but grow stronger as a community.

At one point in year two, it looked like the group was floundering, and that it might not have much of a future at all. There was little to no activity, when quite suddenly, the LMB burst back onto the scene again in full force. During the whole period of a changing of the guard, from Cru’s term to Seahorse’s and the death of the L* Board to the Emessage Forum, there was a renewed focus on reinvigorating the LMB. A gradual rebirth, beginning subtly and then erupting for some time, occurred as old members returned to the fold, new members joined and the all around activity of the LMB hit new heights that had not yet been seen.

The LMB entered it’s third year in continuity (about midway through it’s second in reality) at a time when everything was changing—a new board, a changing of the guard, a renewed sense of optimism about what an online hobby could be and a sense that not only was this *not* the beginning of the end, but according to the old cliché, the end of the beginning, and, keeping in good Legion references, the start of the future.

Year Three: Seahorse’s Term
Part I: The New Leadership: the Election of Seahorse and Beagle Boy

Real History: The Transition from the L* Board to the Emessage forum occurred in tandem with many other major changes within the LMB that all contributed to the subsequent “reinvigoration of the LMB”. Crusader and Anchor Boy’s (Dev-Em) term had lasted longer than the traditional time period, and once the LMB exploded back onto the scene, they decided it was time for their terms to come to an end and a new election to be held. After a brief election period, Seahorse and Beagle Boy were elected as the LMB Leader and Deputy Leader respectively.

The list of nominees was:

Seahorse
Beagle Boy
LardLad
Crusader
Dev-Em

Note it was around this time period in the LMB, that Bellbookcandle changed his moniker to Seahorse, and it was retroactively inserted that he had been Seahorse all along.

In Continuity:

After the end of Zero Hour and the creation of the Outpost, the LMB was still reeling from the various things that had happened during the “Time of Troubles” and then the deaths of their friends in Zero Hour. However, with new members, a new home in the Outpost and a renewed sense of optimism, the LMB looked ahead, preparing to continue on as strong as ever. They decided to hold their traditional elections, and Seahorse and Beagle Boy, two LMBers that had pretty much been there since the beginning, were elected the leader and deputy leader.
