What if Marvel had brought you the Legion?

Which hero(s) would have been the inspiration for the LSH and would have been invited to the future (2062? 2962?) by Saturn Girl, Lightning Boy, and Cosmic Boy?

Who would have had three Super-Girlfriends?

And oh, what of the Super-Pets?

Spider-Man, I suppose, would be Marvel's most prominent teen super-hero, at least at the beginning.

Well, I guess Lockjaw replaces Krypto in the Super-Pets.

Cap might be their inspiration, but that's a little nationalistic I think for a millenium away.

Maybe the Avengers or X-men as a team inspire them.

The Suneater of course would have been Galactus. If my timeline is right, Shooter was probably writing that story about 6 month's after FF # 50.

Time Trapper becomes Kang.

Dr. Mayavale becomes the frozen clone of Doc Ock!

Marvel Girl certainly could have used some Super-Girlfriends.

Logan would use his real name, Brin Londo. His father, Mar Londo, would have been the mad genius behind the Weapon X program.

One of the founding Legionnaires could be the mystery lost third child of Magneto - Rokk Lensherr.

Actually, I had been thinking of Lorna Dane. Think how well a green-haired gal would have fit into the far-flung future. And if in this history she believes or had once believed herself to be Magneto's child (as she did for a bit in the standard MU), she could commiserate with Rond Vidar.

Or teenage Ororo before she became an X-man. The Legionnaires would know her future as an X-man, but Ororo wouldn't, of course. (Fitting this into a publication schedule would be weird though, as Storm made her debut as an adult in the mid-70s.)

Nightcrawler would've ended up on the team.

I think maybe instead of Superboy as inspiration, an organization like the Legion could've been inspired by the Fantastic Four instead.

Marvel answered that quite handily with PET AVENGERS!

Jeepers! It would be just like Josh Siegel to sell the Legion to Marvel!
