It was Shady's power that stopped the war machines at the beginning of The Great Darkness Saga. That time was an accident. Darkseid was sleeping with no knowledge of Legion. This time? Since the power loss has already occurred, how will Darkseid's knowledge of Legion be explained, let alone Umbra?

solicit:
THE LEGION #24
Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning; art and cover by Steve Lightle

Legendary Legion artist Steve Lightle returns for an issue spotlighting the team’s darkest member: Umbra! On extended leave from the Legion, Umbra heads home to see if her birth world holds any clues to the disappearance of her powers. But things have changed on Talok VIII, and the darkness that was once her friend is now her enemy.

September 24 :: 32 pages :: $2.50

Cover: http://comics.toonzone.net/solicitations/2003-09/dcuniverse/legion24.jpg

From the chat with Steve (all direct quotes):
  1. Umbra isn't getting a new name just yet
  2. Grev appears. He is still her cousin
  3. There is a villain, The Shadow Force itself ... sort of
  4. The darkness takes over
  5. The shadow weapons [on the cover] were colored too bightly ... and may look darker after corrections are made

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I wonder if it could be the Shade. Since they were connected thru the Starman series. Just a thought. [Love]

Someone in one of my APAs suggested a Legion/JSA link by having Obsidian be somehow involved with the shadow powers. Maybe he's the Shadow Force that's the enemy.
