There must be at least a half dozen more threads we can stretch out of Gorpo.

Sadly, there's a long fistory of primate non-usage in the LSH.
I mean, we have Beppo-- a full-fledged member of the Legion of Super-Pets-- and he has, what? 3 appearances? That's less than Tyroc. He should have used the super-feces hurling more. Or less.
Then we have the giant space-gorilla that almost stomped Dawnstar to death. Where's he been lately?
Then we have Koko. He got lots more play than Beppo. But he kinda sucked.
The neglect/non-usage of fan-favorite Laser-Ape is borderline criminal.
And it was a terrible missed opportunity to not have a story during the sexy Cockrum-Grell era where the Legionnaires are devolved into apes. Who wouldn't want to see that era's Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy and Princess Projectra running around in those outfits-- AS GORILLAS?
Speaking of devolve-- that brings up Lallorian hero Evolvo. He was a gorilla sometimes. But not often enough. Usually he was that big-headed Braino wannabe, sans the super-nobility.
I think the prospects for a return of Gorpo look grim indeed. But we should keep hope alive.

Alas, poor Gorpo. We hardly knew ye. What is it about gorillas chasing and stomping on females? Aren't there any lady simians who chase after guys?
There's the Gorilla Nebula too. That should have a planet of apes. Or maybe that's the planet that Koko took over.
The fourboot could be the all-Gorilla Legion. That hasn't been tried yet.
