His powers appeared to be that he could asorb people and energy into himself, which is how he was able to collect Drake's dissipated energy form and put it back into a spare containment suit.
Membraine was also one of the more levelheaded of the first team Drake had in the beginning of the annual (being as how the others were letting their prejudices get the best of them), and I'm guessing he's one who survived the preious other versions of the team due to having a level head.

Was membrain in that sorta-creepy possible alternate fistory LSH where Wildfire had become a space-pimp and was admitting Legionnaires based on their liklihood to mate?
Or was he in that OTHER alternate creepy fistory, the 1 Million one?
