Year Seven: The All-New, All-Different LMBP
Part VII: The New Election Process and Leadership Powers

As previously mentioned, the Constitutional Convention drew to a close after Infinite Crisis and was largely abolished so that no constitution was ratified. However, the great success of the convention was the creation of new guidelines on how to elect a new LMB leader (aka a voting process) and what the powers of the LMBP Leader should be.

Immediately, at the start of the Convention, many LMBers (specifically Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester) planned to use this convention to restore the LMB Elections and Leadership and develop a way to make the elections fair and generally pleasing to all parties. At first the reformers involved were Cobalt Kid, Eryk Davis Ester, Abin Quank, Spellbinder and Loser Lad, though quickly it became a topic that all were interested in and contributed to. Newcomers Disaster Boy and Caliente, along with even Tamper Lad, put their own stamp on it to make it the most widely considered aspect of the convention. Therefore, there is really no one name that can be attached to it, though some contributed very heavily to the creation of the new process.

The Election of the LMB Leader Article:

Ground Rules
- One ID/Alt ID per Person is allowed to Run.
- No Alt IDs are allowed to Vote (re: One ID/Alt ID per person is allowed to vote).
- The Nomination Process shall be Public Self-nominations .

On the Leader being honest This is the role of the Deputy Leader. The Deputy leader could double-check and just ensure that there is no dishonesty going on. By making it an overt part of the process, there is no need for hard-feelings—“hey, that’s the Deputy Leader’s job, dude!”.

Process A specific alt ID, designed solely to run elections, is to be created. It shall be called “The Election Tyrant” (tribute to old Loser Lad Alt ID on DCMBs). The password is given to the Leader and Deputy Leader. The votes are sent in and tabulated. The PMs are all then subsequently erased. The leader sends on the password to the new leader and new deputy leader. They then change the password so the old leader and deputy leader no longer have it.

Why no Polls and what about Alts Well, the two people in charge (Leader and Deputy Leader) would see who were sending them the PM's for starters. This is directly the reason we cannot use the polling system. Then those two would have to consider if any were alts. Various LMBers can help, as we have a solid idea of who many of the alts are on LW.

Third Permanent Monitor A third monitor, the Spellbinder/Crujectra would also serve in the election process. Cru is a founder on LW, a longtime respected member of the LMB (from day 1, which was six years ago), and has a wide knowledge of who the alts are. Plus, Cru has been leader twice before, and has expressed that there is no longer a desire for her to run for leader again. Spellbinder would be a permanent third monitor for future elections, on the premise that she never runs again. Any real questions on an alt may then fall to her as we have a definitive way to find them if we must.

What if a PM is deleted from the Alt’s mailbox? Ah, here is the final part of the plan: A thread is created by the leader about the election. Whenever any LMBer votes (re: sending a PM to the Alt), they post in the thread saying “Hey, I voted for leader”. This allows the Deputy Leader and Crujectra to know exactly who has voted. Thus, if by some chance in hell a PM was deleted from the Alt’s mailbox, the Deputy and Cru would know, b/c they’d have a list of who voted right in front of them.

Election Sub-Clauses
The following threads to be started by election administrators
1. Election Announcement, Procedures, and Information thread
2. Debate Thread (maybe should instead be started by LMB Enquirer or other media source?)
3. Election Discussion/Endorsement Thread

+
Other Threads to be used for Campaigning
1. Each candidate is permitted one official campaign thread, started by themselves
2. The Shoutbox and signatures (in good taste and to a certain degree) are allowed for campaigning purposes.
3. Various ‘franchise threads’ can be used to discuss the election and campaigns, if the creator of the establishment allows it.

The guidelines shall be enforced by those monitoring the elections, and spillover into other threads shall be stopped.

The new leader and deputy leader are to be announced but post-counts and the actual votes shall not be disclosed. At the end of the election, the PM Box of the Election Tyrant shall be deleted and the password shall be given to the new leader and deputy leader, and subsequently changed.

The Leadership Term
- No member can serve as leader for consecutive terms.
- Each leadership term shall be (4) months.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part I: Real History – The Enormity of the Event

At the close of August, as the LMB Constitutional Convention was heating up and the LMB activity on Legion World was hitting a point that hadn’t been seen in quite awhile, storylines began to shift in a different direction that at first happened so naturally that the enormity of the event that was to come appeared to snowball completely by surprise.

With the disappearance by Varalent, and then the appearance of a few new threads, there was a sense that another LMB role-playing storyline was at the verge of unleashing itself, though, like last time, there was no guiding hand at the start. However, given the tremendous amount of activity on the MMB in LMB-related activity, and the sheer number of posters posting at that time, it quickly blossomed into an event that was attempting to tackle the most wide-screen and cosmic of themes. The thread ‘The Monitor’s Ship’ quickly set-up the notion that this was an even on par with ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, and then the subsequent death of the Emerald Empress, which appeared relatively early on, came as such a shock—indeed, the Empress was literally one of the LMBers that had most characterized the ‘LMB on Legion World’—that there was a sense that ‘this was it’, that something had arrived.

From then on, from about (roughly) September 7, 2005 all the way to around November 7, 2005, LMB: Infinite Crisis raged through the MMB on Legion World, and became an all-encompassing event. No less than 25-30 new threads were started for it, in addition to the crossing over into other long-standing threads, such as the Security Office and LMBP Plaza. It became so prevalent, that MMB Moderators began questioning if there should be a limited number of threads that were IC-related, and from then on, all IC threads had the title ‘Infinite Crisis:” put in front of them, a tradition that continued thereafter for all major LMB role-playing events (indeed, having such a designation now implies what is defined as ‘major’).

What influenced the explosion of involvement in Infinite Crisis was a variety of factors. First, there was a heavy influence of new blood in the LMB that was actively developing their characters and storylines on the MMB. “The Good, the Dark and the Dead” Saga was still relatively fresh and references to it were quick to come, as it was generally looked at with great nostalgia. Thus, there was a sense that these posters wanted to make a role-play of their own. There was also many posters who were largely inactive during GDD that had returned for the Convention, and they too, many still nostalgic for the glory of the Dark Stu Saga, wanted to have another one.

The heaviest influence, however, was undoubtedly the announcement of DC’s own Infinite Crisis series, which was finally announced in the late Summer/early Autumn months of 2005. Funny enough, no one knew at this point what DC’s Infinite Crisis series would be about, so there would be no inclusion of Superboy Prime or Alexander Luthor in the LMB’s IC. This was simply because LMB: IC wrapped up well before DC’s Infinite Crisis even began. What was important was the enthusiasm and inspiration that DC’s announcement’s concerning their Infinite Crisis series created, and how it inspired LMBers to do a crossover event of their own (some might even argue that not knowing what would happen in DC’s Infinite Crisis may have ensured no posters would be disappointed to the point where they might not want to be involved). The notion of DC’s influence is most apparent when you see how LMB: IC itself played out. At first, there was the initial threads, but later, when it became apparent wehre this series was going, there were four distinct threads that led all LMB characters to their final destination, and they were all based on the DC mini-series that were leading up to Infinite Crisis. Thus, the LMB had ‘Gay of Vengeance’ (based on Day of Vengeance), ‘The Ggrrgg/Psyonia War’ (Rann/Thannager War), ‘The Dalek Project’ (Omen Project) and ‘Villains United’ (Villains United). In addition to a specific thread to keep track of everyone (LMB Command Center) and other threads that developed on the side, all of these were funneled into the main thread (Infinite Crisis).

In the beginning, there was an initial series of threads that began to develop ideas that were relatively fresh and raw, but as it progressed, LMB: Infinite Crisis developed a trait that was also different, in that there was definitely a sense of editorial influence from certain posters who had a larger sense of what was happening to the story at large, as pieces began to connect. Once it became apparent that this would be similar to DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths and what the general assumption of the upcoming Infinite Crisis event would be, it became easier to connect the dots and put the LMB’s own trademark stamp on the event, so that a few twists and turns could remain. This, of course, became a learning process, as there were bumps in the road that were caused by ‘editorial influence’ relying too much on posters that could not be readily available to move the saga to the next stage, teaching the lesson that would be needed for the future, that no one poster can guide an event since real-life comes too fast to tell who will be around. However, this also caused some very positive and definitely ‘cool’ things to happen. For example, during the end of October, 2005, there was a major Comic-con in Boston, MA, which is a very central spot to many LMBers. Thus, there were (13) LMBers that attended that con (as LMBers and Legion Worlders have been apt to do) and they were able to have dinner together, hang around at the con, etc., and all the usual things that such meetings produce. One interesting thing directly relating to LMB: Infinite Crisis, however, was that it was known before hand that Varalent, Abin Quank, Cobalt Kid, and a whole number of other LMBers would be available to figure out exactly how Infintie Crisis could possibly end, since at the time, it was relatively unknown. So the first ever LMB Editorial Retreat took place in Boston in Oct. 2005, as the ending to LMB Infinite Crisis was hashed out, and the fates of LMBers, villains and supporting characters were decided over Chinese food. If an LMB author felt creative before, they now felt like an editor-in-chief!

At November 7, 2005, the event officially came to a close, and its telling that so many posters were both relieved and melancholy afterwards, feeling that they really immersed themselves in it. Many posters beyond the traditional role-players had taken an active role, and encouraged the topics to be locked thereafter, to preserve what was within the threads.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part II: Infinite Crisis: Preludes & Nocturnes

In Continuity – please note, the next few sections will deal with the in-continuity events that happened to the LMB during Infinite Crisis.

Weeks earlier, the LMB are joined by Continuity Cop, an-interdimensional traveler whose job is to monitor timelines and continuity lines to maintain their integrity. She joins the LMB, aware that the timeline is weakening greatly and that a great threat may be on the rise. At first she does not speak of what she senses.

The continued lack of an LMB leader makes things harder to coordinate among the LMB, including communications with the Office of Security and LMB membership at large.

At this point, the LMB reservist known as Grendel appears to them. Saying little, his presence alone later tells the LMB that their worst fears were confirmed. For Grendel only appears in the most dire of times for the LMB, when the universe is in the most dire peril. The act of appearing speaks volumes.

The Search for Varalent
During the LMB Constitutional Convention, the LMB are shocked when stalwart member of the LMB, Varalent, suddenly disappears before their very eyes! Calling out to them in horror, they immediately sense that he is being taken against his own will. As the Convention rages on, Cobalt Kid exits its halls and calls not only the Security Office, but any LMB volunteers in general, to do what they can to find Vee. Frio, Queen Connie, Eryk Davis Ester, Faraway Lad, Outdoor Miner, Kid Marvel and Quislet Esq. come to help. Soon, it becomes clear that he is no longer on Legion World—and can be anywhere in the universe.

An odd thing begins to occur with Quislet, Esq., as he begins to grow slightly. Not noticed immediately, the effects are very gradual and only inches at a time. Soon, however, he noticeably becomes much taller.

Though Cobalt Kid and Frio are helping search for Vee, another confrontation occurs at the Security Office between Luna, Space Ranger, Tamper Lad and Caliente. Queen Connie scolds them all for their lack of searching, prompting Space Ranger and Caliente to join in. Luna and Tamper Lad ignore the scolding.

Semi-Transparent Fellow worries greatly about the disappearance of his paramour. The Emerald Empress, long-time patron of SHAKES, makes a promise to him that she’ll find Vee.

Reboot, noticing Quislet’s growth, attempts to shrink him back to normal size. Though all expect this should solve the problem, it does not work.

Cobalt Kid questions the Royal Inquisitor, who was granted a temporary leave on Takron-Galtos to visit his lawyer, Quislet. Though Cobalt does not trust the Royal Inquisitor, the Inquisitor appears to be innocent, and truly in love with Quislet.

The Emerald Empress, realizing that Vee is not on Legion World, uses her Emerald Eye to track him, and enters orbit, traveling through space.

Matlock combs the streets of Legion World, while Invisible Brainiac visits neighboring solar systems and planets, including Weber’s World. Cobalt Kid travels to Earth-4. None of these searches work. Rockhopper Lad joins in on the search, asking his Pyngwyn cousins to send him word if they hear anything in the UP. Harbinger also joins in on the search.

The Morality League of Qward
With the LMB at large searching for Vee and the Constitutional Convention raging on, Abin Quank fails to check in for a series of days following mission in deep space as Green Lantern. When questioned about this, the reply is that Abin’s ring has been taken over by ‘The Morality League of Qward’ and that he has been incapacitated. A sickly ooze infects the technology that this message is sent to, as it becomes apparent that Qward is a place of immense evil. Tamper Lad and Reboot soon deduce that Qward is an alternate Earth in the anti-matter universe (once thought to be destroyed in the LMB’s year four).

With the LMB getting more and more spread thing, Disaster Boy organizes a crew to visit Qward and attempt to rescue Abin. His reasons are more personal. For some time now he had been searching for his true origins, after being given false rumors and theories by Banshee and others. But the name Qward rings a bell within, and he believes he may somehow be connected. Thus, he organizes a virtual suicide mission with himself and Kid Vudoo to go to Qward 3026 where ‘good is evil and evil is good’. There, the search for Abin begins, as it becomes apparent that he is prisoner there, and the very negative nature of the universe if infecting his mind. On Qward, the Justice League of the 2000’s was actually the Injustice League, and the Legion has been replaced by an entity known as the Legion of Super-Villains. This LoSV believes they are heroes, and to ensure order, have taken over the world and created a ruthless dictatorship, including Cosmos King and Saturnyn Queen.

Back on Legion World, during the search for Vee, the opening of the portal created by Disaster Boy and Kid Vudoo causes Cosmos King and Saturnyn Queen to enter Legion World, and immediately attack the Office of Security: Cobalt Kid, Space Ranger, Invisible Brainaic, Frio, Caliente, Tamper Lad and Luna are all caught up in the attack, before the two journey back to Qward.

During this rescue mission, Disaster Boy learns that he is indeed from Qward, from an alternate future timeline, raised there in the most evil of galaxies, which is why his very nature is to cause disaster in a positive matter universe. His parents are the ruthless rulers, Cosmos King and Saturnyn Queen.

Antagonism on Legion World
With Vee and Abin missing, and a host of LMBers off searching for them, Eryk Davis Ester and Spellbinder attempt to take hold of the LMB to ensure it can get its job done. However, once again, another LMBer goes missing, as Eryk Davis Ester mumbles the word ‘Jeepers’ at his amazement over all that’s happened, and suddenly disappears! His luck lord, realizing that luck will be needed if the LMB will survive the coming weeks, sends him across the galaxy to a mysterious place known as ‘The Monitor’s Ship’.

Things suddenly go from bad to worse. A being known as Scarlet begins searching for the Red Bee, whom she believes is her father. Journeying to Takron-Galtos, Scarlet’s search alerts the entity known as Banshee, who had been an enemy on Legion World over the last few weeks to his presence. Banshee, believing that the Red Bee was her husband in another timeline, attacks Takron-Galtos. Scarlet and Banshee engage in a battle, and Banshee lets loose a scream that destroys equipment all over the robotic planetoid. The Red Bee’s cell walls begin to crack, and immediately Legion World’s most notorious criminal is able to slip through in bee-swarm form, and begins a horrendous killing spree on the guards of Takron-Galtos. With so many LMBers missing or off searching for Varalent, Cobalt Kid and a now-increasingly Giant Quislet Esq. are the only LMBers left available to respond. Cobalt Kid and Giant-Quis flies off to Takron-Galtos and immediately begin battling the Red Bee and Banshee separately. However, the LMBP Spectre, who still cries out for vengeance after the Red Bee’s killing spree on Legion World, rejoins the LMB for the first time in years, the blood-thirsty spirit of vengeance being too much. The LMBP Spectre immediately battles the two. Further, Reboot, who despite being distanced from LMB these days had been working with Cobalt on reforming the Security Office, also intervenes, having no love loss for the Bee after their battle months earlier. The Royal Inquisitor, also a prisoner, gets free, running to help his fiancé Quis in battling such powerful enemies. The Red Bee battles Reboot, but then implores the LMBP Spectre to protect him (per LMB code) because he believes Reboot intends to kill him (since he is no longer an LMBer). However, the Spectre, whose power is far too immense for any villain, wraps herself around the Red Bee and causes the Bee to relive every death he’s caused as the murdered soul experienced it and to feel the fear the Bee was so bent on inspiring—a punishment horrible, but curbed by the inner-spirit housing the Spectre wishing to no longer be so succumbing to vengeance. The LMBP Spectre, believing she is more than enough to handle the Red Bee, then turns to Cobalt Kid, and sensing he will be needed elsewhere, sends him away across the universe, sensing a black wind on Legion World meaning that an LMBer is destined to die, and hoping Cobalt Kid will be able to find out who and why. Cobalt Kid reappears on a place called ‘The Monitor’s Ship’. Reboot, Quis and the Royal Inquisitor beat the Banshee in battle as Scarlet escapes. The Red Bee, now immobile, though silently staring off into space and muttering to himself about revenge on the LMB, is brought to Earth by Quislet and imprisoned in the Security Office basement cells, with the hopes that his incapacitated state will keep him docile, given his danger.

Following the damage done to Takron-Galtos, it remains uninhabitable. With the Red Bee at the Security Office, the only remaining prisoner is the Royal Inquisitor. Quislet asks permission to keep Roy on Legion World under his watchful eye and the eye of the LMB. Sensing that recent events are quickly spiraling out of control, Spellbinder acting as LMB de facto leader, agrees.

However, Spellbinder begins trying to find a way to retrieve the now missing LMBers: Vee, Abin, Eryk, Cobie and others. She contacts her brother Crusader, and for the first time in many years, he returns to the active roster of LMBers.

The Monitor’s Ship
As Eryk Davis Ester is transported across the universe by his luck lord, Cobalt Kid is also sent across space and time by the LMBP Spectre, both forces hoping that the sudden arrival of the two LMBers can hopefully alter events that are coming. Thus, the two LMBers arrive on The Monitor's Ship. The ship is unimaginably large, and the two find themselves able to look at monitors around the universe, many into the past and present. Many of these are focused on the LMB themselves, including what is happening on Legion World. Not far off, they see a man sitting on a chair, who says nothing, as the two take in all the monitors they see.

The Death of the Emerald Empress
The Emerald Empress continues searching through the universe for Varalent, entering a cold, dark, lonely corner of the galaxy. At last she comes to Star 69, the star referred to in LMB files from two years earlier for being a cosmic marvel. However, as she approaches it, a brilliant blue light shoots across the galaxy, as the Empress gets closer to Star 69, and piercing the Empress’ emerald aura with ease! At once, she knows she’s been attacked, and realizes that this is the end. Giving the Emerald Eye its final orders, she contemplates all that she’s done, and the retribution that she’s made for her past crimes. Calling out to Space Ranger in the end, she passes away.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part III: Infinite Crisis: The Monitor’s Ship

The Monitor’s Ship
Aboard the Monitor’s Ship, Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester continue to see into monitor’s showing what their LMB comrades are doing as various crisis are occurring. It is then that they see with great horror the fate of the Emerald Empress, and witness her silent death among the stars, which remains an image they keep with them to their dying days. The two are quickly overcome with sadness, and now attempt to reach the being in the chair, though a great deal of alien technology is in their way. Wishing that Crujectra were with him, Cobalt is amazed at the sudden appearance of Spellbinder and Crusader, who are teleported from Legion World, via miracle machine technology on the Monitor’s Ship. Further, Reboot, following his battling by Cobalt’s side on Takron-Galtos, is able to use Glitch to create a path to Cobalt’s location, and journeys to the ship, although he is unable to pierce its shielding. With Cobalt and Spellbinder’s help however, they are able to get him to join them.

The Legion World Tesseract System
Still looking for Varalent, Space Ranger, Invisible Brainiac, Queen Connie, and Frio search the Legion World Tesseract System. Calamity Monkey and Stoopid Cat join Queen Connie at her request, hoping that the Super-Pets will work better together than the humans. Hrun the Barbarian does as well, and once more, Stoopid Cat and Hrun the Barbarian are forced to work with one another, this time with the scolding eye of Queen Connie ensuring it is done. Hidden in the Tesseracts now for a brief period of time, the Daleks start to emerge (CONTINUED IN DALEK PROJECT), and a battle takes place between the Daleks an the LMBers, as the LMB is spread too thin for reinforcements. In the midst of battle, Invisible Brainiac takes charge, Hrun and Stoopid Cat work together and Frio proves herself in battle. Tamper Lad suddenly finds a dalek attached to him and visions of himself as dictator of Legion World enter his mind—but he is able to see through this, and realizes that it might not be what he wants on Legion World after all. Finally, it apepears that the LMBers have little chance of surviving as Faraway Lad, Caliente and Stealth arrive to rescue them and provide a way out. However, suddenly Frio and Caliente are attacked, and apparently are murdered in battle, their bodies reduced to ash! Tamper Lad, believing his true love, Caliente, is dead, is unable to comprehend what to do next, and Stealth and Faraway Lad are able to rescue him, though the three are separated from the rest. Leaping into a tesseract that has been screwed up because of the opening to Qward by Disaster Boy, Tamper Lad and Stealth find selves transported to Qward! However, Faraway Lad, because of his power, is suddenly sent elsewhere. The remaining LMBers and Super-Pets reemerge on Legion World, figuring out what to next with the Daleks…

The Office of Security
With Legion World spread so thin and Cobalt Kid off-planet for days on end, the Office of Security is jointly run by Space Ranger and Invisible Brainiac and officially in a moment of crisis. Non-Security Officers such as the Ghost of Numf-El pinch in to help keep things running smoothly. Jailbait Lass, in constant contact with Cobalt Kid, begins working side by side with Invisible Brainiac (and there is some flirtation there), and as it becomes increasingly clear that Legion World is in a state of emergency, Invisible Brainiac opens up a LMB Temporary Command Center during the crisis, run by himself and Jailbait Lass, where all active LMBers check in on where they are, not just security officers. Thus, it is at this time that the Royal Inquisitor, now on Legion World for a time, finds himself alone in the Office of Security, which he once attempted to control by force during the Dark Stu Saga. However, he does what he can to pinch in, and he and Quislet Esq., who is continuing to grow up to 30 feet, and then an astonishing 40 feet, maintain a presence in the Office of Security. At this time, they notice that a series of riddles have been left throughout the office, as the Riddler first makes himself known on Legion World. Also, Everyday Girl, always hoping to help out the LMB, tries to honor her status as an LMBer by becoming more involved with the Office of Security, always the center point of her beloved Uncle, Space Ranger’s life. She too helps hold down the fort.

The LMBP Temporary Command Center
Invisible Brianaic, now in command not only of the Office of Security but a field commander of the LMB-at large on Legion World, attempts to coordinate all LMB movement so the group can get a better idea of who is in the field and where they are, which they had been unable to do in their leaderless state. Jailbait Lass, on direct orders from Cobalt Kid, acts as his assistant taking on Codename: Oracle, and the two begin coordinating all LMB movements from this point forward, to form a more united front. Thus, The LMBP Temporary Command Center opens up to deal with the crisis that seems infinite in its realms of danger. Invisible Brainiac then splits himself into different personas (IB Red, IB Blue, IB Indigo, etc.) to deal with a variety of dangers.

The Rainbow Necklaces
With the LMB spread-thin and so many missing, Invisible Brainiac takes up command of the Office of Security, only to find that on Avalon, a civil war has broken out over The Rainbow Necklaces, artifacts that could help Legion World during this crisis, or destroy it! Luna and the Weird Sisters, whose allegiance remains in question, begin to look, and Invisible Brainiac is forced to learn the truth to this mystery, bringing along with him Kent Shakespeare and Outdoor Miner. At last, its revealed that the Weird Sisters intentions, though heroic to their own minds, spells doom for Legion World, and its only through the intervention of old LMBer High Priestess Viviane and her Royal Family of Avalon that the Weird Sisters are defeated. However, Viviane tells Invisible Brainiac, Kent and Miner that the time and space distortions have weakened the spells that allowed Avalon to maintain a presence on Legion World for so long, and given the recent flourishing of Avalonian enemies on Legion World, she believes that perhaps its time to close the portal forever. Saddened by the permanent loss of their longtime ally, the LMBers wish High Priestess Viviane farewell, and at once, Avalon and Legion World are forever separated.

Star 69
Awakened by the trouble on Takron-Galtos, the soul of the LMBP Spectre cries out, as she feels the lifeforce of an LMBer drained, and senses the death of the Emerald Empress. She cries out in pain, and departs Legion World and journeys to Star 69 and recovers the burnt body of the Emerald Empress. Kissing it gently, she restores the corpse to its former beauty and returns it to Legion World for a proper burial. Crying out vengeance towards the one responsible, she leaves to investigate. However, Space Ranger, exiting the Tesseract system after his last battle becomes aware that Sarya of Venegar, perhaps the true love of his life on Legion World, has been killed. Hit brutally hard by this realization, he refuses to go into mourning and reaffirms his stance to protect Legion World during these times, though now the LMBers left on Legion World fear for him, as his drive comes close to pushing him over the edge as pain continues to pierce his heart. He at once leaves Legion World to find the Emerald Eye.

Qward 3026
As Abin, Disaster Boy and Kid Vudoo battle the LoSV and Cosmos King and Saturnyn Queen, they are suddenly joined by Stealth and Tamper Lad! The heroes are able to steal clothes, disguises and weapons, before the two LoSV leaders find them and a battle ensues. During the fray, the heroes battle back, and Tamper Lad surprise the LMB and even himself, as he shows off his heroism. At last, Disaster Boy is able to beat his parents, realizing that he may know his origins and regret them, but his past matters little compared to his future. As the heroes prepare to return, Abin puts his ring back on and through it senses the Empress’s final moments, realizing that his brother Space Ranger will be devastated. Using his ring and closing off the portal to the anti-matter universe, they rejoin their comrades on Legion World.

Who is Kid Prime?
Throughout the mysteries in Infinite Crisis, prominent LMBer Kid Prime finds himself less and less involved with the proceedings as his orgins come into question after a disturbing letter from Ma & Pa Prime, which reveals he was adopted! Questioning his origin, even learning of rumors that suggest he is the prodigy of evil or worse, decepticons, Kid Prime becomes more and more reclusive. It soon is up to the LMBer Enigma, known also as CJ Taylor, to remind him that questioning one self about who you are is more than where you came from, which CJ knows all too well, given his mysterious past involving Eryk Davis Ester, Lard Lad and rumors of being an alt ID of one of the Taylors. As Disaster Boy returns from his own mission with knowledge of his beginnings, CJ points out the similarities in their plight, and Dr. Mayavale suggests that its time for the LMBers to accept who they are and to once more except what the LMB is in this universe in order to combat forces to bent on changing that.

The Return of the Red Bee
With the Office of Security largely abandoned except for a few remaining LMBers, as the LMB is spread thin not only on Legion World, but throughout the galaxy battling numerous threats, the Red Bee remains in the cells in the basement below, still in a cataonic state after the LMBP Spectre’s attack on him. During the crisis Lucien Lad passes by the Bee causing his heightened senses pick up the residue of Lucien Lad’s nostalgia power. Suddenly, The Red Bee begins to awaken—and soon he is joined by the Riddler, whose continued riddles (secretly threats) remained unanswered. The Riddler frees the Red Bee, and the two escape into the streets, but not before the Red Bee can add some more murders to his long list of crimes. The first LMBers to try and stop them are Giant-Quislet and the Royal Inquisitor, and the Red Bee uses this as an opportunity: he tells the Inquisitor that now is the time to rejoin the right side and fight against the LMB, when it seems they most likely will be victorious, or if not: then the Red Bee will kill Quislet Esq. He gives the Inquisitor some time to think about it, but the offer leaves Roy so stunned that he is unable to chase after the Bee or the Riddler.

At Last: Varalent!
On a Desolate Planet Orbiting Star 69 Vee appears, and is kept prisoner for days, though no one explains what they want. Queen Connie soon senses his presence back on Legion World. He is shocked when the Emerald Eye searches out the universe and finds him, following the Empress’ final orders to go to him. Space Ranger, ripping through the cosmos to follow the Eye’s trail, begins to get ever closer, and at last finds Varalent, ripping apart his prison. Polar Boy, up until now doing whatever he could to help, used his LMB flight ring to follow the Ranger’s trail and use his turbulence to catch up, and joins them. There, the two free Vee, as the Emerald Eye surprises them—by attaching himself to Varalent, thereby making him Emerald Vee! On Legion World, Pagan Lass, using her power to follow Faraway Lad to the Monitor’s Ship, alerts her husband Abin Quank (upon his return) that Space Ranger has gone missing in space after Sarya’s death. Abin thus returns days later and follows Space Ranger’s trail, to find Emerald Vee, Space Ranger and Polar Boy. The four, now tuned in to Pagan Lass’ destination, decide to follow them to the Monitor’s Ship.

The Explosion of the Monitor’s Ship
Faraway Lad, through a combination of a screwed-up tesseract system and his own powers, finds himself teleported with is LMB friends, and using magic to follow him, Pagan Lass joins them. Now with a host of LMBers, they attempt to get answers from the Monitor. They soon learn that the Monitor’s Ship itself is under attack, by the ‘lunaticks’, bugs that hatch into Daleks, not only on Legion World, but apparently here as well! A battle breaks out, as the Monitor rises and points to a screen, revealing the true enemy—only to be murdered by the daleks, as they destroy him, and begin eating away at the ship. The lunatick/daleks begin to bite away at the LMBers, giving them insight into other times, Earths and continuities, as they see the death of Flash, Supergirl, and others they’ve never met. Cobalt Kid sees an alternate reality were he in fact became a family man, retired from the LMB and raised his children—and lived happily. As the daleks overwhelm them, they are at least joined by Varalent, Space Ranger and Polar Boy, and at last able to defeat them, meeting the majordomo of the Monitor’s Ship, a being known as Bizarro-Computo, who is activated once the Monitor has died. Bizarro-Computo, whose line of talking is hard to comprehend, begins to explain that red skies are coming and all of time/space is in a flux—but more than that, continuity is in a flux. Bizarro-Computo begins to go haywire, suddenly spouting off information in binary code, and its obvious he’s been infected. Suddenly shadow-demons begin attacking the heroes, as Bizarro-Computo continues to malfunction. It begins to understand it is dying, but now is influenced by an outside source of all-too human emotions. Suddenly, it begins to change form, as Bizarro-Computo melts away and another being seems to be growing in its place. Laughing at the LMB, it waves its hand before any could make out who it is, and at last, the Monitor’s Ship explodes!!

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part IV: Infinite Crisis: Crisis Throughout the Universe

Back on Legion World, the skies begin to grow red. Cataclysmic weather begins erupting everywhere, as odd occurrences in reality begin. Daleks begin entering the streets, and now shadow-demons can be seen from time to time.

Across the entire United Planets, and indeed beyond, these symptoms are occurring. Khundia, Earth, The Barbarian Hordes, the Dark Oval—all of them feel these effects.

Asteroid orbiting Star 69
Faraway Lad is able to teleport a large portion of LMBers to a nearby asteroid as the Monitor’s Ship explodes! A quick head-count reveals that Reboot is no longer with them, and neither is Eryk Davis Ester, so those remaining are: Cobalt Kid, Spellbinder, Crusader, Faraway Lad, Pagan Lass, Abin Quank, Space Ranger, Emerald Vee and Polar Boy. Outdoor Miner, the last available LMBer that could be spared to find the missing heroes, at last is able to find them, drawn by the explosion. Immediately, they see an armada of lunatick/dalek ships entering the universe, coming from the wormhole created by the explosion, using the solar energy of Star 69 to empower themselves—obviously, as part of a plan all along. Being closest to Bizarro-Computo, Cobalt Kid begins to suspect who may be responsible for all of these events, believing a larger force is responsible, who may have re-entered the plain via the majordomo. The Jectra Twins reveal a surprise secret, that they were able to absorb the knowledge passed down from the Monitor on our enemy and his plans, including his battles with past Earths and universes. Cobalt sees a message from Invisible Brainiac, and at once, he sees that Legion World has become overrun by villains and Avalon has left Legion World. However, now is the time for answers: Despite these threats, the main problem is the enemy at hand, who seems able to manipulate horrible cosmic forces without breaking a sweat and in fact, the forces at work here are beyond just one evil being but rather a whole onslaught of concepts and destruction. As Cobalt prepares to begin, Space Ranger, not willing to talk but rather to act, slips off silently and journeys back to Legion World, to do what he can to protect it.

Answers
On the Asteroid where Star 69 and the Monitor’s Ship once were, the gathered LMBers begin discussing the enemy at hand, and using the knowledge the Jectra’s attained from the Monitor via his psionic link to Crujectra, and his knowledge of LMB lore, Cobalt Kid begins to explain what the LMB is up against. All LMBers know about multiverse(s), parallel Earths, and alternate timelines because generally, that is part of being an LMBer. Though it gets confusing, and a little hard to keep track of, it's still LMB history, and it makes sense in its own unique way. But there are forces that can destroy all of that. The cosmic stage is so grand, that whole histories and continuities can be torn from existence. And in its place stands convoluted discrepancies and twists and misplaced timelines where things don't add up quite the way they should. You'd think the universe could correct itself, but it can't. And the legacy of these forces means years and years of more torn timelines and screwed up histories, and well...who knows where it could lead. This has happened before, in other Earths, and in other continuities. A force exists, a harbinger of doom that does exactly this. One such crisis created one single history out of many, and left a plethora of death, convolution and almost unmanageable after-effects. This being was called the Anti-Monitor. The Anti-Monitor, against every being that could stand against him, almost destroyed all that there was. He was beaten, but his legacy succeeded in a way, for all that was left was but a shadow of its former self. And years and decades of restoration and fixing things, guided by the fates that controlled the universe, only brought to light further problems. These problems are no mere side effect--they could potentially unravel all there was. A being such as the Monitor is a universal being, like the phoenix force. When a Monitor dies, his memories are transferred to a new being, somewhere across timelines and histories and continuities. So, when this Crisis' Anti-Monitor died, his memories were transferred to another. Sometimes it can take moments for the transfer of memories to happen, like Monitor to the Jectra twins... sometimes it can take years, even 1,000 years. This 'other' inherited these powers and this legacy. This legacy is one of utter destruction and dismemberment of our very sense of selves and sense of a greater, more complex universal storyline. And he is an enemy the LMB had known before, and have fought before. He is one of the greatest and most feared foes. And he has been reborn, from the energies of Star 69 and the Monitor’s Ship (and almost the Emerald Eye, which he tried for) with the full knowledge of exactly what power it is that he wields. That being has long been known as the Anti-Moderator. But now, at this time more powerful than ever, he is an amalgam of the LMB’s Anti-Moderator and the Anti-Monitor himself.

As the LMBers prepare to journey back to Legion World, attempting to fix the Dalek Problem and save Legion World from the villains before taking the fight to the enemy, Cobalt Kid receives word that Ggrrgg and Psyonia are at war. Without much explanation to his LMB allies, Cobalt quickly leaves them, venturing to his Triumvirate armies to enter the war, causing many to think it’ll be on the side of Ggrrgg. Sensing the immediate danger, both Spellbinder and Crusader return to Psyonia. This suddenly leaves a void in the LMB, and its leadership (with Eryk missing too), and the de facto leader is suddenly named Emerald Vee. Vee, using the Eye, teleports the remaining LMBers back to Legion World.

Reboot & the Rift in the Space/Time Continuum
In order to short out the ship's shields and let people teleport in and out freely, Reboot turned himself into energy, and thus saved the lives of the LMBers. On the verge of absolute death, Reboot recalls Rift in the Space/Time Continuum reported at the start of these reality-warping events and in a last ditch effort teleports himself there. Soaking in as much energy s he can, he is able to pull himself back together enough for someone (who is a mystery) to trigger a full reformation, leaving him repowered and with a new costume. He begins making his return to Legion World, unsure of how long he was out.

The Super-Pets Military Campaign HQ
A continuous flow of daleks/lunaticks begins to engorge the streets of Legion World, while the nefarious Red Bee and the Riddler also deal their fair share of damage. As the LMB continues to spread itself thin while a long list of members are off-planet and missing, Queen Connie, fresh fro her trouble in the Tesseract System, pro-actively calls the Super-Pets to rally to her side at the Super-Pet Military Campaign HQ to defend the streets of Legion World. This includes: Stoopid Cat who becomes the Tiger Avatar God, Calamity Monkey, Hyvvie the Wonder Beagle, Jinx as well as honorary members Hrun the Barbarian (Stoopid Cat’s staunch ally) and Legion Adventure Man. Lucien Lad’s Porcupine Infantry also joins under Connie’s leadership. Kid Vudoo, arriving from Qward, quickly becomes the coordinator with this group and Invisible Brainiac at the LMB Command Center. Two individuals who quickly make the list of potential suspects to round up are Penis-Eradicator Lad and Nads-Kicker Lass, who leave Legion World when they learn they may be questioned by this formidable force. Rockhopper Lad joins them with a royal guard of his Pyngwyn escort on Legion World, and they too join Connie. Soon, the group rejoins Invisible Brainiac at the Command Center.

The LMBP Temporary Command Center
The Command Center, run by Invisible Brainiac and his Oracle, Jailbait Lass, continue to coordinate all efforts on Legion World. LMBers from the Qward mission and the searches are now redistributed to deal with the mounting cataclysmic weather and assailants on Legion World. Lucien Lad, Dedman, Kid Marvel, Arachne and others arrive to help out in any way they can, when suddenly Emerald Vee returns with the remaining heroes in space, and alerts Invsibile Brainiac to the multitude of problems. IB remains the coordinating field commander while Emerald Vee assumes overall command and the LMB split into groups to deal with the problems. Tamper Lad, believing both Frio and Caliente are dead, prepares to retire to his undisclosed location, but gets a sudden urge to continue heroically in their stead, and notices when something seems off with Lucien Lad. In fact, Lucien Lad seems to be acting almost evil at times, and more so than his usual charming nefarious-ness.

The Terrible Partnership that Almost Destroyed Legion World
While all the other events were occurring, the Red Bee and the Riddler quickly began their plans, disrupting Legionnopolis and causing mayhem where they could while the LMB was spread so thin. Though the Riddler was more artistic in his crimes, the Red Bee did not hesitate to kill Legion World citizens at every change. Immediately, Space Ranger, stricken with grief over the Emerald Empress’ death, saw it as his responsibility to bring in the Red Bee, transferring his grief in a way that made him see the Bee as the murderer of the Empress himself. Using this to his advantage The Red Bee begins both making threats that he plans on kidnapping Everyday Girl, the youngest member of the LMBP, and the beloved niece of Space Ranger, and then taunting the LMB (and Space Ranger in particular) about the death of the Emerald Empress and supposed deaths of Caliente and Frio. Additionally, the Red Bee hits the very heart of Legion World, threatening to kill both Grendel and Thomas Fatsi, two beings very dear to certain LMBers.

Elsewhere
As the LMB continues to spread itself thin, Eryk Davis Ester is notoriously missing from the gatherings, following the destruction of the Monitor’s Ship. He is Elsewhere, far off from his allies, stuck in a shadowy plane that burns his skin. Despite his ally Cobalt Kid trying to use his spiritual powers to contact him, Eryk remains alone, until he sees that he is prisoner of the true enemy!

The Dalek Project
Throughout the streets and skies of Legion World, the lunaticks begin to hatch into Daleks, snatching up citizens of Legion World and LMBers alike to exterminate them and drain them of all their energies. Faraway Lad, on the orders of Emerald Vee, heads up the command to put a stop to this intrusion (along with Kent Shakespeare, the Ghost of Numf-El and clones of Reboot sent to act in his place) and he is pleasantly surprised to be joined by Harbinger, who makes her return to the LMBP! As the Daleks begin to overwhelm, they fall back to the LMBP Temporary Command Center where they are joined by Invisible Brainiac and Rockhopper Lad, as well as a newly-refreshed Reboot, who enters the fray after spending time in the rift with re-energized powers. As the battle grows ever more deadly, it is Queen Connie and the assembled LMBP Super Pets who launch a military strike on the Daleks and the two forces begin to dismantle the never-ending stream of enemies. Finally, the Daleks are defeated, though Invisible Brainiac, in the heat of battle, is not able to see Jailbait Lass kidnapped by the Red Bee. As the LMBers and their allies finish the battle, Reboot alerts them to the fact that Space Ranger has fallen in battle.

The Ggrrgg/Psyonia War
With the LMBP faced with multi-front problems before they can focus on the main enemy at hand, a terrible blow is dealt to them when they learn that the planet Ggrrgg, Cobalt Kid’s home-planet, has begun an invasion of the planet Psyonia, the home-planet of Spellbinder and Crusader. This results in the sudden exodus of Cobalt Kid from the LMB and Legion World, as he quickly goes to summon his Triumvirate armies after a letter from his father, Marcus Desmonius, requests his help in leading the Ggrrggian war machine. Within the LMB and outside in the United Planets, speculation runs rampant as to whether Cobalt Kid is going to join in on the effort and protect his home-planet, to finally make amends for his long estrangement with. Spellbinder and Crusader (along with Maxx) also exit the LMB, journeying to Psyonia to protect the planet in the upcoming war. As the armies mobilize, Emerald Vee asked Abin Quank, per his role as Green Lantern of the UP, and Outdoor Miner, to enter the fray and attempt to bring peace so the larger problem at hand can be solved. As tensions mount and the war seems imminent, Cobalt Kid reveals to his most trusted general, Scipio Taltarus the story of his youth and how the problems with his estranged father began, which ultimately reveal the most horrible betrayal by Cobalt’s mother—and the events that never allowed them to bridge that gap before she was later killed. Meanwhile, Crujectra, unsure of what’s to come, prepares to enter Cobalt’s mind and turn it off if she has to, and learns something she never knew for certain—that Cobalt has fallen in love with her completely. The Ggrrggians soon enter Psyonian space, and Abin attempts to stop the war, when he is suddenly attacked by Cobalt Kid, which drags Outdoor Miner into and the three crash down on Psyonia. Once on Psyonia, Cobalt reveals that when Crujectra entered his mind she realized his plans, as Cobalt used his army to out-flank the Ggrrggians while they thought he was an ally and his Triumvirate Army and the Psyonian military have them surrounded and thus rout them in battle (and Cobalt saved face with his army by punching Abin). The plan, developed by Crusader, is the result of learning that both sides were being manipulated by agents of the same master: the Anti-Monitor. Cobalt and Crujectra embrace, and let there love be known to their allies and to Psyonia, much to the chagrin of the Jectra Royal Family, who harbor a small grudge against Cobalt Kid because of the actions of Ggrrgg. Its at this point, as they prepare to journey back to Legion World, that word comes in that Space Ranger has fallen in battle, and the LMBers quickly prepare to make their way home, hoping to console Abin as best they can as he comes to terms with the death of his older brother.

Gay of Vegeance
With the LMB spread thinner than ever, Tamper Lad at last learns why Lucien Lad has been acting so oddly—when he begins to attack Legion World alongside the villains. At last he reveals he is not Lucien Lad, but Glamour Puss, the Lucien Lad of Earth-4, and he is more powerful than ever! Using the combined powers of Glamour Puss and Lucien Lad, he becomes Gay-lipso, and unleashes attacks across Legion World, including an assault on Founders Park, replacing the statues of the LMB and LW founders with those of the evil super-villains of Earth-4. Tamper Lad, Nova Girl and Dedman arrive to put a stop to this horrible Gay of Vengeance, only to learn the true extent of his power as he begins to seduce known other than The LMBP Spectre! As the Spectre apparently begins to fall under Gaylipso’s control, Pagan Lass and Kid Marvel join the battle, hoping magic-users can do some damage with Iron Rat (STU) missing for so long. At last the combined powers of the LMBers assembled are able to capture Gaylipso—only for the LMBP Spectre to free him! At last the Spectre reveals that her intentions are far too complex for the LMB to understand and that Gaylipso has a very important part to play in taking down the Anti-Monitor. Thus, she promises to hold him captive with her power, but in doing so it will effectively eliminate her from battle for a time. In the meantime, it is of the utmost importance to find Lucien Lad (the real one), who is being held prisoner on Earth-4 via a switch made earlier. However, many doubt the Spectre, unsure if they can believe her after her apparent seduction by Gaylipso. Thus, she wraps herself around Tamper Lad and uses her power to make him completely relaxed for the first time in his life, whispering to him that he must be her agent. He promises to be, and prepares to go to Earth-4 alone if need be, though not after accusations by Legion Adventure Man that both he and the Spectre are on the side of the villains.

Villains United
As the Red Bee and the Riddler continued to make threats against the LMB and drop clues to their plan of attack, they terrorized the citizens of Legion World while continuing to elude Space Ranger and other LMBers because of the Red Bee’s powers of non-detection. Soon, the Red Bee began another horrible murder-spree, all the while taunting the LMB (particularly Space Ranger) that he was planning to kidnap Everyday Girl. Unknown to the LMB, the two villains began calling out to other LMB enemies, hoping to create a group so large that it would bring the utmost terror possible to Legion World. First, he continued to blackmail the Royal Inquisitor, demanding that he join them or they would do everything possible to kill Quislet. Second, the two entered the The Giant-Squid Memorial Center for the Advancement of Alt ID Culture, the known location of Lucifer Lass, who had been staying at Legion World. Knowing full well that Lucifer Lass was one of the greatest villains to ever battle the LMB, the Red Bee attempted to lure her into the pact with himself and the Riddler. Though seen by Double-Header, a known Alt ID citizen of Legion World, the Red Bee beat and tortured the sentient, making him act as a venue of information on the threats of death. At last, Lucifer Lass began talks with the Bee, asking what he had to offer, to which the Bee replied access to the long-missing stolen stash of gender-reversal germs, a way back to her parallel universe, the location of the long-missing Lard Lad, and a pouch containing a mysterious secret (whether the Bee actually had all these things remains a mystery, but evidence leads one to assume he had the gender-reversal germs at least). Lucifer Lass seems to agree to the deal, although she herself appears to have a deadly secret—somehow involving both the missing Eryk Davis Ester and the Anti-Monitor.

At last, using his powers of non-detection, the Red Bee takes advantage of a thinly spread LMB to capture their technology and he begins to assemble villains from all different eras of LMB history, as well as different Earths, different times and different galaxies. Quickly, they begin to scatter through Legion World, showing at last that the the villains are united. They immediately assault citizens of Legion World and LMBers alike, some even attacking Gaylipso (note – crossover with Gay of Vengeance) unaware that the Red Bee sent them there to die. The Security Office, largely abandoned, is overrun, as villains storm in to battle a now 70’ Quislet Esq. and the Royal Inquisitor, who decides to fight alongside the LMB no matter what the cost, inspired by the death of the Emerald Empress. The Red Bee, seeing this, takes an opportunity to destroy the newly erected statue of the Emerald Empress, which sends Space Ranger into a rage the likes of which he’s never known! Space Ranger begins rounding up as many villains as possible, while Emerald Varalent himself leads a group of heroes against the villains, now joined by the long missing Icefyre and Kara, both returning to Legion World. Finally, using the threats of kidnapping Everyday Girl against the LMB, the Red Bee throws them off, so that he secretly kidnaps Jailbait Lass once more, just as he did in “The Good, the Dark and the Dead”. The Red Bee takes her to where the most villains have gathered and locks her in a refrigerator, symbolically showing how powerless the LMB are! Space Ranger immediately redoubles his efforts, eliminating as many possible to make his way to the Red Bee. Following him is his niece and best friend of Jailbait Lass, Everyday Girl. Finally, Space Ranger gets to the Bee and Riddler, completely exhausted, and battles them both. The Red Bee, fresh and rested, uses all his power to burn the Ranger’s skin, while the Riddler shoots him with a special lead bullet. Space Ranger continues to pound on the Red Bee’s face, but the Red Bee’s ooze continues to burn his skin so much that the pain is too much for any sentient heart to bare—and soon, the great hero Space Ranger, can stand no more…and he dies.

The Red Bee and the Riddler begin to celebrate, drinking the Security Office celebratory wine (which they stole) as what’s left of the villains cheer. Entering the room, Everyday Girl suddenly surprises them as she claims her Uncle’s body, crying at his side, causing much laughter among the villains (though it is said that the Riddler at this point realized he couldn’t be the Red Bee’s partner if this would be part of it). In shock from the murder, Everyday Girl then gives them a shock, as she pulls out a pair of Modified 9mm Beretta VLK Pistols, and blasts the Red Bee’s knee-caps! Outside, Emerald Vee and Queen Connie’s Super Pets begin to march on the remaining villains, while Giant-Quis and the Royal Inquisitor rush inside to join Everyday Girl. The Red Bee, howling in pain, leaps at Everyday Girl, as she then shoots the Riddler, knocking him to the floor. As Everyday Girl reacts with both fear and determination, she is sickened to see the Red Bee grinning and screaming for Everyday Girl to give him her all—and she does by firing more rounds into his chest. At last, the Red Bee falls, but his final words are that he loves the LMB, and Everyday Girl in particular, as he then goes comatose. Soon, the villains are rounded up, but not before the heroes come to realize what this cost, as Space Ranger’s dead body lays before them. And unknown to the LMB, Lucifer Lass continues with her own plan, which never involved the other villains anyway, but rather, another partner—the Anti-Monitor.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part V: Infinite Crisis: The Turning of the Tide

Space Ranger’s Funeral
Admist the Crisis, as LMBers begin returning to Legion World and threats are stopped so the team can unite, Everyday Girl takes Space Ranger’s body and arranges the burial and funeral to begin. Pagan Lass joins her, as Abin continues to make his way home, and Everyday Girl begins the long ceremony, unknowingly giving the LMB and Legion World something to unite under, as they let their emotions of the last few weeks come out while mourning Space Ranger. Here, at last, Loser Lad and Iron Rat (STU) arrive back on Legion World to pitch in for the final battle, as do other LMBers. The Funeral of Space Ranger marks the turning of the tide, as the LMB prepare for a final battle. Eulogists include Everyday Girl, Emerald Vee, Semi-Transparent Fellow, and Cobalt Kid.

Capitalism on Legion World
Despite the ongoing crisis and impending threats from all directions, life on Legion World continued normally for its citizens when they were not in mortal peril. Being used to such cataclysmic events, business prospered like always, possibly even more so as thoughts of an impending armaggedeon led many consumers to spend what money they had saved. Thus, some citizens, like LMBer Kent Shakespeare, opened up some lucrative businesses, such as the LMB Infinite Crisis Gift Shop. Note – this thread here gives a very good idea at just how prevalent LMB Infinite Crisis was on Legion World’s MMB.

Infinite Crisis on Earth-4
Following the direction of the LMBP Spectre, Tamper Lad organized a mission to Earth-4 to find the Earth-1 Lucien Lad, who was being held prisoner there, and is joined by Rockhopper Lad, Nova Girl and Legion Adventure Man. Also involved is Faraway Lad, who is the LMBer that that has the power to travel (or send others) between the alternate realities. There they learn that SMB is also facing a crisis, and quickly find themselves at odds with a group of super-villains bent on overtaking Earth-4! They are joined by the SMB Junior Auxiliary, which includes Infra-Red Lass, Closeted Boy, Legion Adventure Boy and Hyper-Dense Kid, who help them navigate this alternate Earth they’ve never been too. Here, Rockhopper Lad gets to know Closeted Boy better, learning his name is Blaine Fey, and the two become close, brought together by the crisis at hand. Soon, Rockhopper Lad learns that the Rockhopper Lad of Earth-4 is actually a murderous tyrant known as the Evil Emperor Penguin. Tamper Lad deduces that Rockhopper Lad was indeed the son of the Emperor Pyngwyn of their own universe and a prince. Also still knee-deep in the search for Lucien Lad, Tamper Lad learns who is Earth-4 counterpart is, and it is known other than the Stalker, a villain that once fought the SMB and LMB combined alongside the Trumpeter. The heroes, joined by some of the SMB, including UP President Numf-El, battle back the villainous forces led by the Evil Emperor Penguin and the Stalker, finally able to rescue Lucien Lad from his imprisonment, as the Earth-4 villains were working hand in hand with Glamour Puss. At last, as they prepare to leave Earth-4 with Lucien Lad, Rockhopper Lad and Blaine Fey share a kiss and realize that throughout all this epic danger and crisis, they’ve found love—and Blaine Fey changes his name from Closeted Boy to Openly Gay Lad! Wishing his new found love goodbye, Rockhopper Lad joins Tamper Lad, Nova Girl, LAM and Lucien Lad as they return to Earth-1 (Legion World) for the final showdown with the Anti-Monitor.

NOTE – Rocky and Tamper, please feel free to give me some thoughts on this summary and if there’s some other tidbits I can add that I may have left out. I tried to get in as much of the general plot points as possible.

Legion Adventure Man – Victim of Infinite Crisis
As the events of Infinite Crisis played out, it became increasingly odd that Legion Adventure Man, new addition to the LMB, appeared to be in every place at once, fighting the good fight alongside all of the LMBers. Piecing it together at the Command Center, Invisible Brainiac alerted the LMB, only to learn that LAM had become a victim of this infinite crisis, his continuity so screwed up by the tears in the universal fabric that it continued to stretch him apart until he disappeared completely!

The End of Kid Prime
Following a series of doubts and questions earlier in the crisis about his origins, Kid Prime retired to his famous room, where suddenly he began to envelope himself in an odd cocoon-like state. Soon, it appeared that he too was being effected by the crisis, and suddenly, the LMB appeared to witness the death of Kid Prime! However, once more, a new cocoon emerged, the contents within unknown, though the LMB hoped it would be some form of their beloved ally, bringing it with them to the command center.

I’m Too Pretty to Die!!!
Throughout the entire Infinite Crisis, one LMBer was conspicuously absent, namely Lash Lad, most beloved of all the LMB and one of the natural leaders of the group. Hiding out in a mysterious bunker, Lash Lad kept his distance from events without giving a reason why, claiming he was too tired and was far too pretty to die. Those who knew him well, such as Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester, seemed to think there was nothing wrong with this, to the chagrin of other LMBers. Some speculated that perhaps this was because, if in theory, he still maintained the retcon powers, his very existence and use of them could somehow worsen the crisis or effect things in a way that could be worse than the crisis itself. Though that remained only a theory, Lash Lad was soon joined by Disaster Boy, who was powerless following his trip to Qward and felt like he was doing very little. There, Disaster Boy witnessed as Lash Lad used some mysterious force to find the lost twins Caliente and Frio, who had used a combination of their powers to survive the onslaught in the tesseract system, but in doing so fell into a coma-like state. Waking them up, Lash Lad allowed both twins to rejoin the fight against the Anti-Monitor, though Caliente elected to remain with Lash Lad and Disaster Boy for a time, who are later joined by LMB ally Gay Green Giant and Lad Boy.

Rallying the LMBP Forces
The LMB Command Center continued to keep track of monitoring which LMBers were on various missions, as seen here, here and here. With LMBers returning from space and various missions, as well as the returns of various LMBers to combat the Daleks, battle the villains, and lastly, to attend Space Ranger’s funeral, they began to assemble at the LMB Command Center to bring the fight to the Anti-Monitor. This was done under the De Facto Leadership of Emerald Vee and Invisible Brainiac (effectively de facto Deputy leader), though this was unofficial and more implied than ever mentioned. While the hurt and wounded were given aid, the LMB welcomed back to their ranks Harbinger, STU, Loser Lad, Icefyre, Kara, Lad Boy, Arachne, Super Lad Kid and a host of others. Also fighting on Legion World and ensuring the citizen’s safety was newly returned Suddely Seymour, Fat Cramer, Poverty Lad, Space Tart, Mattropolis, Yellow Kid and Legion World Founders Nightcrawler, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl. One new entity that found them was Amora the Enchantress, who via the weakening universal forces holding the alternate Earths and timelines together, was somehow pulled from Earth-3 (note – the Marvel universe) and placed Legion World. Immediately, she wished to join her new friends and allies in glorious combat. Preparing to go to battle, with only a few LMBers still missing (most notably Eryk Davis Ester), Emerald Vee Called the Roll.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part VI: Infinite Crisis: The Finale

Elsewhere
Eryk Davis Ester, still elsewhere, remains in the presence of the evil beyond all of the crisis, the combined entities of the LMB’s Anti-Moderator, and the Anti-Monitor. Taunted by the enemy, Eryk uses his powers to cause the desolate structure to begin to shake and collapse, exhausting himself to the point of passing out—only to be awakened by Lucifer Lass! Always having an odd connection and bond to Lucifer Lass, he’s surprised when she begins to take care of him and comfort him, revealing that she has indeed been working with the Anti-Monitor via a deal they struck. With a small cadre of villains serving as her personal guard, she is working for the safety of my home universe and a select few inhabitants of your universe such as Eryk, which the Anti-Monitor has promised her in return for the Hypertime Bar. Eryk, being one of the few sentients that understands what this means, begs her not to, but she plans to anyway, only to learn that the Anti-Monitor plans on betraying her anyway, to use the Hypertime Bar to consume all universes. Learning this, Lucifer Lass uses her powers to destroy the Anti-Monitor’s equipment, and sends Eryk Davis Ester back to his LMB friends, who are on their way to the final battle with the great enemy, so that he can help destroy him.

Infinite Crisis
At last, the LMB launched their assault on the Anti-Monitor, seeing at once the red skies covering every corner of Legion World, and all throughout the universe similar chaotic cosmic weather storms. As the LMB does what it can to se the weather right, Eryk Davis Ester is suddenly transported to them, and after Cobalt Kid heals him, he is able to reveal what Lucifer Lass told him about the Anti-Monitor’s plans regarding the Hypertime Bar. Previously, the Anti-Monitor’s presence had infested the Anti-Moderator, giving him power beyond imagination, with the plans to not only destroy realities and continuities, but to muddle them so greatly that there would be no chance to restore them to their former glory—not without creating such striking inconsistencies that there would be an eternal universal immune system bent on ‘fixing’ things. However, the Hypertime Bar exists outside of reality and continuity—and in fact, all things that happen there become etched in cannon of all that is and cannot be reversed. To die there means there would be no resurrections, no changes, no retcons. It becomes permanent and is beyond all other things. For the Anti-Monitor to gain control of it—and tot destroy it—means that he would have complete control over the forces that bend and altar realities and continuities, and would therefore become the true, one creator of all that is.

It is here that the LMBP Spectre reveals her plan: the two Luciens, Gay-lipso and Lucien Lad now combined into one. Only the combined powers of glam and nostalgia can hinder these forces of creative destruction from destroying all, while the rest of the LMBP confronts the enemy The essence of the Spectre had fought the Anti-Monitor before and lost, in a continuity long forgotten. However, the Luciens and the Spectre can keep him at bay, while a small force of LMBers stays to protect them from the shadow demons.

At last, the LMBP move forward to battle the Anti-Monitor, although he continues to assault them with the armies of past evils, causing them to fight there way to him at every step. All LMBers from all eras continue there assault, while a guard fights off the shadow-demons trying to get to the Spectre and the Lucien Lads. Kid Prime finally emerges from his cocoon, as the all-new Kid Prime, complete with new powers and a new look, and quickly rejoins the battle. A small squad of LMBers, led by Vee, Eryk and Cobalt, attempt to head off the Anti-Monitor at the Hypertime Bar, fully aware that should anything happen to them there, they will be forever changed without hope of changing back. Faraway Lad, Outdoor Miner and Invisible Brainiac join them. They find Captain Lightbulb, who long ago had parts of the Hypertime Bar woven into his speedo, and through him, are able to journey at last to the Hypertime Bar by ripping a temporary hole in the space/time fabric by Faraway trying to move the group faraway while Outdoor Miner simultaneously brought them back. During the battle, Disaster Boy learns that the reason his powers have been missing is that the Anti-Monitor had stolen them since his return to use for his assaults upon the cosmic weather. Using his willpower as best he can, Disaster Boy begins to pull them back, but with his concentration lost, he finds himself sucked into the Hypertime Bar as well. At the Hypertime Bar, the LMB find themselves face to face with multiple Faraway Lads and Outdoor Miners, as realities begin to merge.

As an insult to the LMB's spirit, a secondary plot is created to make a "World Without Beer" though this was resolved by using the Hypertime Bar's ever-replenishing stock to restore beer to the world. During the melee, as alternate versions of LMBers continued to appear, Everyday Girl experiences visits by multiple fathers across multiple worlds, but then is shocked to learn that she perhaps is the daughter…of Hrun the Barbarian! Meanwhile, Emerald Vee stays out of the fray, and is joined by the Silver Sorceress and Sapphire Seeress, the only two alternate versions of the Emerald Empress in existence. However, once more, the LMBers find themselves not doing anything, but succumbing to the curiosities of the alternate worlds and basking in the confusion of it all. At last, Lucifer Lass arrives as well, alerting the LMBers that this is all part of the Anti-Monitor’s plan—to make things so confusing that the LMB are unable to pro-actively do anything about it!

Remembering their credo, Cobalt Kid at last begins to put all the chaos into an orderly outline, so that they can move forward. Removing the old view of the multiverse, the LMB piece together that multiverse itself is too limited a concept. Earth-2, the post-Crisis DCU universe, is a multiverse itself, and thus, there are multiverses within multiverses and complex coordination of the universe is too much for a mind to understand and thus must be preserved! Again he recounts that Hypertime Bar is the only real thing that anti-matter could not destroy! The nature of anti-matter is so great, that it must consume everything. But in doing so, reboots and retcons allow the universe to restore itself. Thus, this gives the anti-matter a continual purposes, to destroy what the universe is constantly recreating. The Hypertime Bar exists outside of continuities and realities, and is immune to retcons, reboots, endings and mock destructions of timelines. It must always be, for that is the nature of it: what happens there can never be undone!

As they now regain their composure, the LMB turn to see Anti-Monitor at last piercing his way into the Hypertime Bar. At once the Anti-Monitor unleashes an anti-matter warhead which will destroy the Hypertime Bar completely. As the LMB disburse, the Anti-Monitor is lulled into a false sense of security, only for Emerald Vee to appear. Laughing, the Anti-Monitor believes Vee has no chance, until reveals that while the Anti-Monitor may be a master of chaos, Vee is a master of the variable. In doing so, he can altar the rate of growth and change in a being, and using the power of the Emerald Eye, he does so on the Anti-Monitor, halting the use of his powers so they move at an eon’s pace, including the assault of the anti-matter warhead. Thus, The LMBP assembled charge at the Anti-Monitor for one great assault! As the LMBP continued to pound on him, Vee uses his emerald eye-enhanced abilities (along with Silver Sorceress and Sapphire Seeress) to drain the Anti-Monitor essence out of the Anti-Moderator, ripping it out of him, revealing an ugly, slimey slug—the now powerless Anti-Moderator.

The LMBers back away, letting him snivel before them, as Faraway Lad and Outdoor Miner return them back to their home reality. However, the Anti-Monitor’s Warhead continues to move closer to the Hyptertime Bar, where now only Vee and the powerless anti-moderator stand, as dismisses him for his crimes against reality. Emerald Vee finally disappears as the anti-matter warhead strikes, destroying the anti-moderator completely. The Hypertime Bar, believed to be vulnerable remains unscathed, as the combined forces of the Spectre and Lucien Lads uphold its integrity, so that the anti-matter explosion finally passes and the forces outside the bar are restored, so once again all is safe. They too exit the Hypertime Bar, sealing it shut forever.

The LMB return home to Legion World, victorious at last, after weeks of crisis. Exhausted, both mentally and physically, they bask in the glory of victory, while taking time to silently mourn the loss of many friends, particularly the fallen Space Ranger and Emerald Empress. Together, they drink to their memories as a united front and begin to repair Legion World.

Note – this is probably where I might need the most additional insight. This is mainly just the final battle, with all other subplots previously written in (and holy crap, that took days and days to read through!!!!), but mainly in IC thread there’s a whole lot of dialogue rather than action [Big Grin] . Still, its all good fun and its obviously implied what was happening, so I think I have a very good summary above. I’m about 90% satisfied, but if someone has some additional things for me to add, please feel free to.

Epilogues
As Space Ranger had a poignant funeral, the LMB now ensured that the Emerald Empress would have one as well. Vee, now the inheritor of the Emerald Eye, began the Emerald Eulogies, and many were able to pay tribute to their fallen friend.

Within the confines of the Security Office, a large large statue of the Emerald Empress and Space Ranger was erected in the lobby of the magnificent building, so that tribute would always be paid by Security Officers to two of the founding members of the institution.

Now the master of the Emerald Eye, Varalent returned to Legion World, to both his Villa and SHAKES, and began life anew, this time with added firepower, and a renewed sense of duty, though both he and his paramour Semi-Transparent Fellow mourned the loss of their friend.

Invisible Brainiac received the highest decorations possible for his service during Infinite Crisis, and his ability to coordinate the response efforts for the LMB as a whole. Jailbait Lass was also decorated, and Cobalt Kid gave her a very hefty raise in her pay.

The connection to Avalon on Legion World was forever gone, and the Avalonians were not seen again, though the ‘fire of Avalon’ became a phrase that would refer to the beloved fieriness of former member High Priestess Viviane, but also the despised fiery evil of so many of the Avalonians who attempted to subvert Legion World.

Following the events of the Ggrrgg/Psyonia War, Cobalt Kid and Spellbinder became ever closer, relying on one another more and more. Cobalt remained estranged with his father on Ggrrgg for his role against his home-planet, but now the Jectra Twins found themselves at odds with the Psyonian Royal Family. Their parents, still angry over the assault by Ggrrgg, thought Cobalt Kid to be distasteful and forbade Crujectra from consorting with him. Crujectra refused outright and her brother Crusader supported her, so that the Twins were no longer on speaking terms with their parents.

Tamper Lad’s heroism in Infinite Crisis became a thing commonly brought up to the point that it embarrassed him, as Nova Girl constantly reminded everyone. Though not an LMBer yet, Rockhopper Lad, Caliente and others made it a point to try and make him one soon.

Caliente and Frio, both alive and well, rejoined the LMB at large. Frio quickly was back at the Security Office and enjoying life, while Caliente reunited both with her fiancé Actor Lad, but also made sure that Tamper Lad, who none could doubt she was close to, knew she was alive. He was overjoyed, much to Nova Girl’s amusement.

Kid Prime re-emerged stronger than ever with new powers, a new look and a new outlook—no longer giving so much credence to his origins. Disaster Boy agreed, he too comfortable in that knowledge and now once more in control of his powers.

Queen Connie disbanded the Super-Pets military, but first not without thanking them all. Hrun and Stoopid Cat, once bitter enemies, remained the best of friends.

The House of Quank mourned the loss of Space Ranger, and both Abin Quank and Pagan Lass were both shocked by Everyday Girl’s involvement in the Red Bee’s capture. Though they wanted to keep her out of LMBP life, she had other ideas, starting with the Office of Security, where she knew she probably had at least one supporter in Cobalt Kid.

Reboot, now fully energized, rejoined Legion World, but now had the energies of the rift in the time/space continuum added to his physiology. With a new costume and an adjustment (and boost) in powers, he continued to function out of his mainframe. Though he had long been on the inactive list of LMBers and had come close to returning to active status many times, the combined teamwork with Cobalt Kid during the Constitutional Convention in addition to the satisfaction of working so well with the LMB as a whole during the Crisis, led him to finally return to active status as an LMBer.

Lucifer Lass returned to Legion World, the full extent of her almost-betrayal known only to Eryk Davis Ester, who kept quiet about it. The LMB did know she pinched in at the end though, so they greeted her back to Legion World, and when she questioned what to do with leftover bits from infinite crisis, Cobalt Kid made a joke about marrying her, and jokingly, she reminded them she wasn’t quite that good of an ally.

The Red Bee, the Riddler and other criminals were imprisoned on the repaired Takron-Galtos, the former two in critical condition. The Royal Inquisitor, who heroically defended Legion World, was allowed special privileges to see Quislet in the future on special occasions, and the two remained engaged. Quislet, with the Crisis now over, reverted back to his normal size.

Amora the Enchantress, a new face on Legion World, now realized that this would be her home and began trying to find her place on it. Stealth, who had done so months earlier, volunteered to help her.

Outdoor Miner continued on as one of the most popular denizens on Legion World despite himself. Given all that he had seen in Infinite Crisis, however, even he considered if he should be drinking any longer.

Lucien Lad and Gaylipso were unbound and returned to two separate entities, and Gaylipso was returned to Earth-4, although he ensured he would not return as a prisoner. Lucien Lad enjoyed the bonding and now had new fashion ideas. The LMBP Spectre returned to her normal resting place, awaiting the next crisis which would surely awaken her.

Rockhopper Lad also stayed in contact with Earth-4, with Openly Gay Lad, Blaine Fey, as the two continued to fall in love.

After Infinite Crisis, the LMB not only was a stronger, more united front, it had re-bonded in a way that a group only can when it has faced annihilation together. New members, returning members, established members—all those monikers were wiped away and the LMB as a whole felt a more in-tune sense of a group. The membership was also the most full it had been ever in its history. Although soon many LMBers would once more leave the active roster, they stayed on for a time, for the LMB to heal as a entity and to embrace the new closeness all felt.

LMB: Infinite Crisis
Part IX: An Overview of Infinite Crisis and what it meant for the LMB

Infinite Crisis was unique to the LMB and Legion World for many things, the most blatant being its sheer size, in both participants, threads & story activity and for its dominance on the MMB on Legion World. Quite simply, there was a massive amount of posters that used Infinite Crisis as a story they could make their own that would have far-reaching changes on their characters. The progression of almost every character involved makes it much more dramatic from a story point of view, but from a historical view, it really shows how deeply involving the various LMBers were, in that they had immersed themselves in LMB lore enough that they felt comfortable in using it to their advantage.

This trend crosses into all generations of LMBers. Many of the longtime LMBers, like Cru, Bevis (Lucien Lad) and Cobalt Kid, were of course involved, as were later LMBers that had been mainstays for many years by now, such as Eryk Davis Ester, Varalent and Kid Prime. The most recent string of LMBers, including Tamper Lad, Caliente, Stealth, Rockhopper Lad, Joeboy and others, also were greatly immersed in Infinite Crisis to the point were they were largely guiding the story as well—so that, indeed, by the finale of the event, they were ‘new’ no longer, and had established themselves as central to the LMB as much as anyone.

The group that most was effected by Infinite Crisis, in my opinion, was the group of LMBers that first arrived to LMB lore at the dawn of Legion World. Specifically, it was not only the LMBers themselves, but the Alt IDs, which essentially define the early days of Legion Word when viewing it in regards to LMB lore, that were most greatly effected by Infinite Crisis. For example, a series of LMBers/Alt IDs that arrived on Legion World in the Fall of 2003, when LMB-type activity first became paramount on the newly created Legion World, included the Emerald Empress, Space Ranger, the Royal Inquisitor, Kara and others. In Infinite Crisis, it brought a dramatic close to the stories of the Empress and Space Ranger through their deaths. The Royal Inquisitor was changed completely from his traditional role as archetypical LMB villain on Legion World to someone trying to become heroic. The real poster who used the alt ID Kara, who had not been seen in some time, revealed that he had planned to kill Kara off too during Infinite Crisis, but real life business prevented him from doing so. However, that intention reveals a trend among the underlying theme of Infinite Crisis—that it was essentially a conclusion to the ‘LMB on Legion World’ for the last two years prior, including a literal ‘cleansing of the palate’.

For two years, the LMB had been on Legion World and had seen a tremendous amount of change. When viewing the smaller picture, you can see up and downs and how things progressed from one point to another. From a much larger picture, one can consider the entirety up until Infinite Crisis as one larger story. The problems of a year prior were all but gone, dusted away by “The Good, the Dark and the Dead” as a newly refreshed LMB emerged, but now polished by Infinite Crisis. Old Alt IDs that helped define the LMB on Legion World saw their stories change or come to a close, while other posters such as High Priestess Viviane and her Avalon saga wrapped up completely. The final showdown with the Anti-Monitor/Moderator, after years of using the character as a metaphor for all the attempts to address continuity issues at DC (and Marvel to a lesser degree) that had gone haywire gave one final climax to this traditional theme, and in a way that essentially left future attempts at using this old metaphor rather worthless—in a sense, there would be no more ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, ‘Zero Hour’ or “Infinite Crisis’ stories, because they had been done so often, that the best one now put that entire trend to a close. With the addition of a new batch of LMBers that figuratively had a ‘baptism of fire’ while literally moving to the quickened ‘sophomore’ role of LMBer, as well as the return of a variety of posters from a very large array of eras, there seemed to be a sense that the LMB as a whole, after six years, was molded into one more solid group, so that looking at it in terms of ‘eras’ seemed to be nonsensical.

Thus, the period(s) after Infinite Crisis would be a new era completely with many long-standing and ideas and characters at a point where they needed to move in a new direction, now that so many trends, storylines and characters had come to a close. Once more, an exciting time had arrived, as a distinct sense that something new was upon the group as a whole for not only the next few months, but possibly the next few years.

Note to Cali-

I realize now that i probably have tons of references to Cali and Frio being sisters in the last fifteen or so posts, so when I make the official version, I'll be sure to correct them all [Smile]

Year Seven:6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part I: The Transitions to the Diamond Age

Following LMB: Infinite Crisis, there emerged once more a new, refreshed LMB. After months of rebuilding and events occurring that gave a shot of adrenaline into the LMB giving rebirth to a sense of enthusiasm for the group, Infinite Crisis created a sense of ‘cleansing the palate’, and starting fresh. The storylines of some longtime Legion World Alt IDs and LMBers came a close or went in a new direction, the new blood of the previous few months had become so immersed in LMB lore that they no longer felt like rookies, and the various generations of LMBers all posting together at one time had melded so much together than it could generally be seen as one large era of LMBers. Thus, as Infinite Crisis came to a close, there was a sense that a new era was beginning.

That era, one might argue, officially could begin with the resumption of the elections with Actor Lad and Kent Shakespeare becoming the new LMB Leader and Deputy Leader and the introduction of a whole new plethora of LMB-lore driven events and threads that would come in the Summer of 2006. Looking at it in this light, one sees a series of seven to eight months of LMB posting that exists between the close of Infinite Crisis and the beginning of that new era, which can classified as a transitionary period that would lead to the ‘Diamond Age’ of the LMB.

This period of transition is also marked with a series of trends that help further the classification. First, following Infinite Crisis, which saw a wide array of posters become quite active again, there was a trend of many of these posters decreasing their activity, both with Legion World and specifically in LMB related events. Though still maintaining a casual presence on Legion World, they remained a part of the community at large, but did not maintain an active enough presence to be on the ‘active roster’. Therefore, a sense of consolidation took place within the active LMB roster, though the marked difference between the LMB and the general population of Legion World remained there for intents and purposes of LMB story-telling.

Further, there was a series of threads called ‘One Year Later’ that gave descriptions of where the LMB was following an implied one year jump in continuity. Though this seems to be too much time in regards to making the continuity work, a later section will explain how calling this ‘6 months later’ helps complete how the continuity flows together while at the same time underling this larger theme of transition.

This long period of time also served to strengthen the previous theme begun by Infinite Crisis as newer members became more and more established within the community and new phases of threads came and went, so that an entirely new dynamic existed within the LMB proper.

Finally, the return of the elections at the end of this period helps show that a new sense of going forward had long replaced the old concerns over the elections, and it was time to move forward with the new dynamic within the LMB.

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part II: Life on Legion World

The Legion Forum
Supergirl – During this time, in the Spring of 2006, DC Comics made the announcement that the Legion of Super-Heroes (still recently three-booted) would add Supergirl to the title, changing the name of the comic to “Supergirl & The Legion of Super-Heroes”, which was a spin/tribute on the former “Superboy & The Legion of Super-Heroes from years past. The ‘Kara Zor-El Supergirl’, herself only recently returned to the DCU, was somewhat controversial already, given her death twenty years earlier, the Supergirl’s that had been seen since and the characterization of her that was plainly different from the way she was traditionally portrayed. Thus, Legion World not only made plain their differing opinions on the character herself, but also on what her role in the Legion would be—and should be—as fears that she would dominate the series, and subsequent criticisms that she did were compared to enthusiasm from posters who thought her presence may help the Legion in the long run. Throughout the Spring and subsequent months, this remained a potent topic in the Legion Forum.

The Mission Monitor Board
Run-on threads – During this period, specifically around February – April 2006, the Mission Monitor Board saw an interesting trend in what I’ve entitled ‘run-on threads’. These threads would usually begin one night with an off-beat topic and then subsequently draw in posters that would create threads with similar titles or a spoof on the original thread—which would usually lead to four or five more of them. What was further interesting is that as the weeks went on and various series of ‘run-on threads’ were created on the MMB, there would be references to previous series of run-ons, to where it almost was as if the ‘run-on’ itself was exponential, so that a series of run-on threads was a larger self-referential run-on itself. For example, a run-on of threads regarding Max Schrek and Julie Fitzpatrick (herself a pervious run-on thread) occurred here, here, here and here and most likely other places. What is most interesting is that this trend had been seen to a lesser degree in the MMB for years before, but never at this rate. However, this type of posting was quite common for the Legion Forum, and the enthusiasm most likely spilled over from there.

Bits O’ Legionnaire Business
Kat’s Coloring Challenges – Though she had started many threads before relating to the coloring of sketches, White Raven (also known as ‘Kat’) kicked off a series of threads in November and December 2005 that were entitled ‘Kat’s Coloring Challenges’, where she presented the sketch of a pic and the various Legion World artists that specialized in coloring gave their own spin on how the sketch should be finished. These threads ran throughout 2006 thereafter as a monthly part of the Bits forum.

Dr. Gym’ll’s Cultural Realities
DC and Marvel’s Mega-Crossovers – During the Fall of 2005 both DC and Marvel announced their upcoming crossovers, respectively ‘Infinite Crisis’ and ‘Civil War’, which led to much anticipation and speculation in Dr. Gym’lls Forum. When the mini-series began in the Spring of 2006 and carried on thereafter, speculation was meant with reviews, criticisms and cataloguing which inspired not only long, large threads for each, but also various spin-off threads, as reactions and witticisms were stated.

The Titans Forum
Just as Legion World reacted to Marvel’s ‘Civil War’ and DC’s ‘Infinite Crisis’ on Dr. Gym’lls Cultural Realities, the posting community also used the Titans to vent their own frustration or applause for the use of the Titans during Infinite Crisis. Particularly prevalent were comical threads about Pantha’s severed head.

As always, suggestions on other trends during this time period are highly welcome!
