Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part III: Consolidation of the Membership

In the weeks that immediately followed Infinite Crisis, the re-strengthened membership of the LMB hit its most active point in its history. A wide range of Legionnaires from all eras filled the ranks and the rebuilding of Legion World and re-establishing LMB protocol was so done so efficiently that it was completed within this small period of time.

Seeing such a strong, revitalized LMB would be going forward, this allowed several members, who had rejoined because Legion World and the LMB were in Crisis, to feel at ease about returning to the lives they had established and remove themselves from the active roster. Thus, the following posters placed themselves on Reservist Status:
  • Loser Lad
  • Star Boy
  • Icefyre
  • Kara
  • Harbinger
  • Super Lad Kid
  • Pagan Lass
  • Queen Connie
  • Pariscub

Also
Following the events of Infinite Crisis, Continuity Cop felt assured that the LMB had done the job needed to be done and prevented the disaster the Crisis represented. Wishing them well and assuring them she’d be there is they needed her; she also left the active roster.

Amora the Enchantress, still new on Legion World, also left the active roster, taking time to find a life for herself on Legion World and adjust to her new surroundings.

Hrun the Barbarian and Stoopid Cat once more exit the LMB’s active roster, secretly undertaking an espionage mission for Cobalt Kid and the Security Office. Not officially security officers, they remain secret non-official spies for Cobalt in other regions of space.

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part IV: Six Months Later/One Year Later

Real History
Following LMB: Infinite Crisis, the LMB authors wanted to mimic another DC Comics event by copying the ‘One Year Later’ insignia and starting a few threads dealing with what an OYL LMB would look like following their own crisis. This is cleverly done via fake solicitations for various LMB comics that would be coming out following the Infinite Crisis, similar to DC Comics line of then-current titles. In examining the plot points given in these descriptions it becomes evident that most of these LMB stories could fit more accurately under ‘Six Months Later’ rather than ‘One Year Later’.

Also, a jump forward an entire year might be stretching the timeline too far, and it would only add another six months that might not be necessary. Having ‘Six Months Later’ (aka ‘6ML’) allows a jump that covers close to this entire period with enough time left over for the remainder of anecdotes that took place throughout the rest of the period. Further, it advances the LMB timeline to roughly Year Eight for the LMB continuity-wise, which then gives the start of Actor Lad’s term, at the opening of Year Eight, a much easier designation in keeping track of LMB Continuity.

The actual length of time the LMB would be in existence would actually be seven years at March 12, 2007, therefore making it about an entire full year longer that the LMB existed in continuity rather than in real life. For example, from here on, when the events happened within Year Eight, they would then happen in Year Seven in real life. This works well, because the return of the leadership terms would be done in four month increments rather than the traditional three. Previously, the ‘real life/continuity overlap’ existed to repair this disconnect, but from here on forward there would be no need for it, with continuity simply existing one full year longer than real life.

One Year Later Solicits

Six Months Later – In Continuity
Following Infinite Crisis, Cobalt Kid returns to the topic of Security Office reform and his long discussions with Reboot. Because the Constitutional Convention has been effectively brought to a close, the Security Office article was never ratified. However, despite being under no obligation to do so, Cobalt makes the Security Office Article Effective immediately, creating the new Committee on Security, which he himself is the Chairman, a position he holds for life (as a continuation of his Chief of Security role). In place of Space Ranger, he names Abin Quank, his brother and Green Lantern of the United Planets, on the committee.

Quislet Esq. and the Royal Inquisitor remain engaged and happy, with the Inquisitor allowed to spend some additional time on Legion World following his heroic role during Infinite Crisis. The public remains thoroughly enthralled by the engagement, while some LMBers come to trust Quislet’s instincts more and more and extend that trust to the Royal Inquisitor.

Frio learns that much of what she was told by the Avalonians months earlier were lies and false leads to her origins as they attempted to use her against one another. Frio becomes more concerned with learning the complete truth of her past.

With the death of Space Ranger, longtime rivals Abin Quank and Cobalt Kid seem to finally reach an understanding and set aside their differences, opting to work together and, in fact, become friends. Cobalt names Abin Quank co-Deputy Leader of the Office of Security in place of Space Ranger. Because of Abin’s longtime role as Green Lantern of the United Planets and his knowledge of intergalactic affairs, the Security Office is split so that Abin runs the intergalactic affairs portion of the Security Office and Matlock runs the Legion World Street Crime portion.

Everyday Girl, despite protests from her grandparents, requests a position at the Security Office and Cobalt Kid agrees, naming her Junior Deputy Chief of Security and giving her Space Ranger’s old office. From then on, an understanding exists between the two, and other LMBers and Legion Worlders wonder why Cobalt Kid allows Everyday Girl to have so much authority in the Security Office.

During this period Dedman, Caliente and Disaster Boy all join the Security Office.

Golden Shower attacks Legion World, where she is beaten by a strangely sober Outdoor Miner. Miner’s sobriety becomes the topic of speculation for some time in the media. When asked about it, Miner comments that he has given up drinking.

With the Security Office situated, Cobalt Kid and Princess Crujectra surprise the LMB by taking a long overdue vacation together, touring many of the vacation planets of the United Planets. Brought much closer together following the events of the Ggrrgg/Psyonia War, the two are seen and followed by the paparazzi throughout space. Rumors begin to circulate that these longtime friends are having more than just a ‘fling’, but rather a full-on love affair. Their closest friends and confidents become aware that the two are indeed in love and are in fact monogamous. Photos of the two make the rounds.

Space Tart, off Legion World for months, finds and takes care of a mysterious baby. Hoping to bring it to Legion World, she is warned against it and eventually places it in the care of Lil’ Rhino.

Now known as ‘Emerald Varalent’, Vee continues to operate SHAKES along with Semi-Transparent Fellow.

Tamper Lad opens The Evil Genius Supper Club on Legion World, as an elitist establishment frequently by the evil genius contingent of Legion World. Commonly seen there are Thora and Winema Wazzo, as well as Nova Girl, Tamper Lad’s sometime friend, sometime antagonist. Keeping the Legion World rumor mill running strong, Caliente takes a job there working the bar.

The Wedding of Crusader and Maxx – After dating for years and being one of the LMB’s most well-known couples, Crusader and Maxx finally set a date for their Wedding on Psyonia. Though estranged from their parents, the House of Jectra had no trouble thanks to the Queen and groom-to-be Maxx working behind the scenes to mend fences.

Caliente and Actor Lad’s engagement continues during this time throughout.

Despite protests from him, the LMB induct Tamper Lad into their ranks following his heroic role in LMB: Infinite Crisis. Many of his longtime friends and supporters are pleased, while those who aren’t too sure about him hope this allows him to focus his brilliance on things that benefit the UP and Legion World.

Beagle Boy returns to the LMB for a time, joining Lucien Lad and Lash Lad on a mission, and the three take the moniker “Birds of Gay”.

Changed forever by a journey to the centre of the multiverse, Glitch-Reboot attempts to maintain his sanity in the midst of the tremendous power he now wields throughout this period.

Journeying to the future, Cobalt Kid joins the Instant Messagers, a group of young heroes who see him as one of the most legendary heroes of all time. They make him an honorary member.

Matlock once more attempts to retire, but the villainous Toilet-Bowl Bomber attacks, and in order to defeat him, Matlock must use his power, de-aging himself once more, so that he is no longer eligible for retirement benefits.

Disaster Boy, despite learning of his origins, appears to have another terrible secret that he keeps from his fellow LMBers. Despite inquiries from his close friends Kid Vudoo and Caliente, he says little.

The reanimated corpse of Large Handsome appears on Legion World, and as would be expected, it begins to hunt for Lash Lad. Eryk Davis Ester and Blok the Pet Rock help Lash solve this mystery, shocked to find that the corpse is still large, and still handsome. They learn that Large Handsome has regained his sentience, despite being an undead zombie! Looking to repent, Large Handsome swears to do right in the universe while his current state of un-life lasts.

Eryk Davis Ester is not idle during this time and begins searching for a secret in far-off corners of the universe, causing some LMBers such as Kid Prime and Varalent to suspect it relates Lucifer Lass, CJ Taylor and LardLad…which could possibly mean something dastardly for the LMB--something involving Pornis and the One Called the One? Finally, it appears that Cobalt Kid learns the secret, but does not share it with his allies.

Also, during this time, Eryk Davis Ester’s on-again, off-again relationship with Kid Gender Stereotype Reversal II continues.

LMB Arch-foe Nick Lachey tricks LMB ally Antiquated Forms of Communication Lass into saying yes to an engagement from him and the LMB are to the rescue. Despite help from Saturn Girl, Crusader and Shark Lad, its finally Poverty Lad whose outright crude behavior snaps her out of it, allowing her to deliver a hard-felt punch to Lachey and ending his trickery.

Throughout this time, Rockhopper Lad gets to know Openly Gay Lad much better, and Blaine Fey is often seen traveling to Earth-1 for the two to be together. Rockhopper Lad’s best friends know quickly that it is true love.

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part V: Adventures during the Transition period following 6ML

The Seven Seas – Spellbinder, Cobalt Kid, Loser Lad, Invisible Brainiac, Crusader, Maxx and Ultra Matt enjoy high-society at Fathom’s Below, the famous restaurant in Earth’s Atlantis. However, they are soon interrupted by the water-based terrorist unit the Seven Seas, causing a melee to erupt. Despite the large number of enemies the LMBP emerges victorious with enough time for Spellbinder to scold Earth’s elite for their snotty views towards the non-Royal LMBers. Note, this was a Onevision written by Spellbinder/Princess Crujectra during this time.

Life on the Streets – As days and weeks go by after Infinite Crisis and the LMBers have celebrated and moved on, many citizens of Legion World are unable to do so because quite frankly: Life on the streets of Legion World can be hard. One being, burned badly and left for dead by the Red Bee at last awakens. And seeing his burnt body and feeling week…he hated the LMB—this was Blugshot Porkinbaggle! And with his newfound powers he received in the crisis, he would become: Middlefinger (VI that is!). Immediately he began to give the same sense of dread and lifeless existence he had to other LW citizens, causing riots, so that Matlock was forced to quell them. Hearing of a new Middlefinger, Middlefinger V’s mysterious ship (from ‘The Day Legion World Stood Still’) immediately journeyed to Legion World! While the Galaxy Fair raged on and some LMBers like Kid Prime and Lucien Lad enjoyed the festivities (and Reboot danced with a young Triumvirate soldier named Knightress), Middlefinger V’s ship crashes revealing a new enemy in the form of the Evil Gnome King! Dollyputo and Kylie Minogue lend a hand—only to see that Dollyputo was in fact, Michael Lorenzo Lash (from Earth-5) the former enemy of the LMB, who had been masquerading as Lash throughout the 6ML gap! More and more LMBers and allies are drawn into the fray as a mystery centered on an item called ‘The One Ring of Power’, which Middlefinger wished to place on his middle finger! However, this was the rightful property of the evil Gnome King, who had traveled to Legion World after it, and a war between the two villains broke out with the LMB assembled before them. Soon Actor Lad and Caliente battled Middlefinger, Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid analyzed the mystery of the One Ring, Mattropolis saved Legion World from a falling gigantic comet, Tamper Lad joined Actor Lad and Caliente for increased drama, Madrox the Multiple Durlan attempted to infiltrate the LMB once more by becoming Cobalt Kid only to be killed by Everyday Girl, The Royal Inquisitor provides Quislet with a summary of the plot, and entering the fray were the entire House of Quank, the Gorilla Tribes of Legion World and Kid Gender Stereotype Reversal II. The Origin of the Gnome King revealed that Faraway Lad’s drinking ability had provided great enlightenment to the Gnome people and thus they were able to overthrow their bonds of slavery from the Evil Gnome King and hid themselves in the one ring of power. However, soon Middlefinger VI steals the One Ring of Power from the LMB with his hordes of servants, claims it, and uses it to kill the Gnome King! A beautiful young girl tries to get it back—but is revealed as Eryk Davis Ester, using his abilities as the Boy of 1,000 Faces! Middlefinger VI then journeys to Takron-Galtos and kills Middlefinger V (per tradition). Its finally the sudden arrival of longtime LMBer Blacula, the reanimated corpse of Large Handsome and the surprise help of the Time Mouse Trapper, who feared how powerful Middlefinger VI had become, that the LMB assembled are able to defeat him and pry off the One Ring. The Gnomes leave the ring, draining it of magic and rejoin the universe proper now that the Gnome King is defeated, while in the process restoring Large Handsome to his former living state. Middlefinger VI is then locked up in Takron-Galtos. Note – this is a much larger and more confusing LMB tag thread begun by Bevis (Lucien Lad). Its actually pretty brilliant too and I recommend it! I wish it went longer!.

The Color Guides – Throughout Legion World, various LMBers appear to be coming down with viruses, including Spellbinder, Loser Lad, White Raven, Vee, Yellow Kid, Minesurfer, Lucien Lad, Drake and others. Soon, entire art galleries begin to vanish and Sketch Lad deducts that it’s the LMBers greatest artists that are being stricken. Soon he learns it’s the work of: Empress Eraser! As Sketch Lad battles her, he is helped by the appearance of three beautiful muses: Sapphire, Ruby and Amber! These three, he learns, are the Color Guides, empowered by new art created in the universe, and they help him defeat Empress Eraser. However, though the Empress is destroyed and his friends restored, Sketch Lad’s powers are depleted. The Color Guides, needing to replenish themselves after long years of attacks by the Empress suggest a partnership in which Sketch Lad can use their power as his own, and thus create new art and inspire other art that will therefore empower the Color Guides. With new powers and a new costume, Sketch Lad once more rejoined the LMBP! Note, this was a Onevision written by Sketch Lad during this time.

Enter the NanoBots – Nightcrawler enjoys quiet time on Monitor Duty when he becomes aware that a series of LMBers have failed to check in, and soon learns that they are kidnapped! Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Spellbinder, Cobalt Kid, Lash Lad and Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass: all LMB founders or Legion World Founders! Using Nano-technology, Stan Biercht makes his presence known as the culprit, though the LMBers can’t remember who he is. Finally, Nightcrawler recalls that ‘Stan, the Nano-Tech’ applied for LMB membership a year earlier and was denied entrance by these seven (the then Membership Committee) after he failed so badly in his test that Reboot was forced to save his life (and the lives of the observers). Now armed with Nanobot servants and the moniker ‘Stanobot’, he prepares to have his revenge. However, playing on his doubts and lack of confidence, some LMBers like Lash Lad and Cobalt Kid have a good laugh at his expense, while the rest use their powers to quickly dismantle the nanobots, and Saturn Girl ultimately takes him down. Note, this was a Onevision written by Spellbinder/Princess Crujectra during this time.

The Rising Darkness – Following the events of Infinite Crisis, a mysterious person breaks the Red Bee and the Riddler out of Takron-Galtos, instantly causing great anxiety amongst the LMB. Everyday Girl immediately plans to spring to action, but Pagan Lass has Hrun the Barbarian and Stoopid Cat watch her every move, the latter doing so to get back in her good graces after their falling out and the former because he finally reveals the truth, he is indeed Everyday Girl’s father. Cobalt Kid tries to protect Pagan as best he can as well, sending her on a mission with Arachne, while he and Matlock investigate the breakout, which ultimately leads the female duo to Tamper Lad’s Evil Supper Genius Club. Other LMBers directly involved in the Bee’s past escapades, such as Abin Quank, Reboot, My Whee Fem and the Bee’s favored target, Jailbait Lass, also become involved. In the process, the mystery of Everyday Girl’s miniature versions of Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid (respectively Nobody and No One) is revealed, as they are Kacks, other-worldly creatures (and how they connect to the Nobody of the Light Brigade is revealed too). Ultimately the Security Office finds the Red Bee and the Riddler to see they are not the threat after all, but rather the mysterious man is part of a larger plot to destroy Legion World, because they ultimately fear the Supreme Protector of the Universe herself, Mearl Dox! The balance of chaos and order within the LMB is examined by these enemies, who come to understand that the continued elimination of agents of order within the LMB threaten to offset the balance towards chaos, which already maintains a degree of culture. As Everyday Girl, My Whee Fem and Jailbait Lass search for Mearl and find her mysterious cottage in the scary woods, the rest of the LMB begin to unravel the mystery which involves the far-away galaxy of the Puckered Sphincter and a mysterious thousands of years old relating to pre-Egypt and STU. Note, this was an unfinished Onevision written by Abin Quank during this time.

The Super-Villain Legion – while the LMB enjoy a time of relative prosperity on Legion World, far off a gathering of second rate super-villains threatens to become a serious threat! Cobalt Kid, Eryk Davis Ester, Kid Marvel, Lash Lad and others are soon drawn in to their complicated plot as Takron-Galtos appears under attack. While Golden Shower attempts to kidnap Reboot and a villain reanimates the corpse of long-dead LMBer Frankie Muniz, Semi-Transparent Fellow, Vee and Dedman learn of a mystery within one of Legion World’s many unexplored caves and are joined by Lucifer Lass, who has become annoyed by the villains on Legion World. As Abin Quank, Quislet Esq, Caliente, Tamper Lad, Sketch Lad, Lucien Lad, Faraway Lad, Invisible Brainiac and more and more LMBers entered the fray, the mastermind behind it all revealed himself: The Pro-Creator! Able to create b-list villains with no previous connection to the LMB mythos, he unleashes an army against the mighty LMB-assembled. Note – this was an actual tag team thread.

Penguin’s Progress: The Origin of Rockhopper Lad – Rockhopper Lad, spending time with his new paramour and beloved, Blaine Fey, relates to him how he (with Hyvvie the Wonder Beagle) came to Legion World as an Ambassador of the Pyngwynyy and ended up joining the LMBP at the same time new members Stealth and Caliente did. Note, this was a Onevision written by Rockhopper Lad during this time.

Legion World’s Gruesome Twosome – During the LMBP’s Spring Festival, Deathstroke Kid finally reappears on Legion World (after months of hiding) and joins Salad-Tosser Lord, who is attempting to increase the growth of Legion World’s farmland at an accelerated rate so that it consumes the planet. Nightcrawler, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl, aware of problems on Legion World, investigate, and at last Deathstroke Kid and Lightning Lad battle one on one! Salad-Tosser Lord finds his own problems as Frio and Kid Marvel are introduced to him, and Poverty Lad joins the fight to give his old foe a taste of his own medicine.

Beware the Ninja Bread Man – while the LMB enjoy a nice Christmas, they are unaware of the trouble that the galaxy is in, as the Ninjabread Man threatens the spirit of Christmas. Luckily, the Gumdrop League, including Mallo Man, Wonder Chiclet and Hot Tamale, are able to band together to defeat him. Note – this was an actual tag team thread, created by Suddenly Seymour.

Go Forth And… Following his battle weeks earlier with the LMBP, the Pro-Creator breaks loose on Takron-Galtos and immediately creates a cadre of b-list villains to help him. Joined by Nick Lachey, the two attempt to exit the United Planets—but are pursued by an LMB team of Drake, White Raven, Polar Boy and Monkey-Eater Lad. After a series of battles, it’s the arrival of He Who Wanders, who was in the alien area and Minesurfer, who surfs into the cosmic storm they are hiding in, that turns the tide. Ultimately, Mystery Lad is able to take out the Pro-Creator, whom he believes gives a similar person an alternate Earth a bad name.

Time Out—Time In – Time Boy returns to the 31st Century to hang out with his LMB buddies Suddenly Seymour and Arachne, only to discover that he cannot close his time-hole, and prehistoric space-dinosaurs are flying into Legion World’s orbit and the space beyond. Joined by Dedman, Kid Vudoo, Gigglebot Girl and Actor Lad, they soon discover that it’s the work of the Arch Duke of Time causing these problems. While they round up the space-dinosaurs and settle them on a barren planet with an ecosystem similar to pre-historic Earth, the timely arrival of Leap Year Lass and Stealth ends the Arch Duke’s plans via the time-honored tradition of a knuckle sandwich.

Recapturing the Magic – Eryk Davis Ester, Lard Lad and Kid Prime are enjoying a nice swim when suddenly Shark Lad attempts to attack them, and they soon learn that someone chummed the pond and stole their clothes! Meanwhile, Salad-Tosser Lord enjoys his new occupation as one of the judges on United Planets Idol, when Poverty Lad, Caliente and Frio attempt to win the contest to uncover STL’s plan, only for STL to tell them they did such an awful job that they must die. However, both parties soon were attacked by Entropy Spinach which descended throughout the universe. However, the E-Spinach at UP Idol turns out to be the Time Mouse Trapper playing a joke on the LMB, while at the pond, its Actor Lad in disguise, attempting to get them out of the pond because they are in grave danger via the mastermind (who just so happens to ride around in a tomato with wheels), but only after Lardy has an interlude with Sexual Innuendo Lass. Meanwhile Cobalt Kid played strip poker with Lucien Lad, Faraway Lad and Lash Lad, but grew bored when he realized that all the women were missing! As a crazed Rabbit/Trapper-Zapper threatened the LMB if they got in his way in a war with the Time Mouse Trapper and a giant fluffy bunny kidnapped Cobalt Kid, Antonio Stefannaci burst in to proclaim that all of Legion World’s (and the UP’s) magic was gone! Somehow, this related to the Time Mouse Trapper’s plot to have the fluffy bunny kidnap Cobalt to lure out his enemy R/T-Z, and to weaken R/T-Z’s power by turning the LMB into bunnies and draining all his magic. However, Poverty Lad found a genie, who was a weevil named jinni, who was helping him. But this was all a ploy and it was Jinni all along who carried on the entire charade to suck up all of the magic so she could free herself from her prison! As Jinni used comatose Cobalt Kid’s all over Legion World as bombs, it was up to the non-magic LMBers to outsmart the genie. Finally a plan by Dr. Mayavale, Eryk Davis Ester, Kendra Prime (a gender-reversed Kid Prime) and Shark Lad was able to pierce Jinni’s physical form and release all her magic back into the world, thus imprisoning her once more! Note – this was an actual tag team thread, though highly confusing.

The New Crusaders! – On another Earth, in 2006, the heroic group known as the New Crusaders engage their enemies, Villains, Inc. in battle when suddenly a clash between the villainous Time Thief’s power and a magic battle between New Crusader Spellbinder and the evil Black Mage causes them to be transported across space and time: to Legion World. After a minor altercation with Cobalt Kid, Arachne, Princess Crujectra and Beagle Boy, the LMBP and five the New Crusaders who were transported (Dragonheart, the leader and Spellbinder, Powermax, Brainstorm and Oracle) at last learn who each other are and how similar both groups are. Part of a much larger group of second generation super-heroes in post World War III Earth, the New Crusaders inform the LMB of their villainous counterparts and the two agree to search for them together (the Time Thief, Black Mage, Marionette and Artemis). While the Legion World and UP gossip mill immediately took note, the assembled heroes searched for the villains, only to learn that some of the LMB’s own villains were also abroad on Legion World: namely the Seven Seas, Stanobot and the Banata Commando! They soon learn that the Shadow Queen is pulling the strings, as both Oracle and Cobalt Kid are kidnapped. As the away teams spread out over Legion World reacted, two final heroes were kidnapped—Spellbinder and Princess Crujectra, by none other than the Red Bee. At last, as the Bee tortured them, the kidnapped heroes learned that an alliance between the Red Bee and the Shadow Queen hoped to bring forward another horrible entity to Legion World. Using the four heroes’ abilities to power their machine, they journeyed to the End of Time, once home to the powerless but now restored Time Mouse Trapper, the true mastermind! The Trapper revealed himself to the be the one to bring the New Crusader’s over, after the Shadow Queen, Villains Inc. and the Red Bee had restored some of his power, and now with the captured heroes, would use the machine to draw forth an entity that could restore his full power and far more: the Entropy Spinach! However, huddling together, the New Crusaders watched as the LMBP called the roll for all of its reserves to join the assault, so that LMBers past and present, a literal round-up of almost anyone who could hear the call, joined them for an assault upon the End of Time. The previous crimes of the Time Mouse Trapper, the Red Bee and the Shadow Queen had not been forgotten. As the assembled heroes battled the assembled villains, the chaos caused the Entropy Spinach to come free, allowing it to battle back with the Time Mouse Trapper, so the two’s titanic war of wills caused the End of Time to blink in and out of existence…until, at last the Entropy Spinach proved triumphant! The Entropy Spinach turned to the heroes, thinking on a scale too cosmic for them to comprehend, and sent all the participants home. While some villains remained free and others were now caught, it also imbued Oracle with enough power to send the New Crusaders home, but only after they had a chance to bid their new friends the LMBP farewell, and establish a bond between the two teams that promised long-lasting friendships, visits to each other’s worlds and many more adventures to come! Note – this was an actual Onevision by Crusader/Spellbinder.

Note – For her on out, I suggest we name Earth-6 the ‘New Crusaders Earth’, which basically an Earth that Cru has full range over, especially given the intricate detail provided for it in the latest onevision! Cru, if you want to provide me with a summary of the New Crusaders, their Earth, their history and a roster, I’ll give them their own section in the final timeline! [Smile]

Turning Point: Now – For two long years, founding member Lard Lad had been missing from the LMBP, and it was believed that none knew of his whereabouts, only that he was in search of his missing powers though this was shrouded in mystery, though it was known they were stolen by Mordra the Harlot. At last Cobalt Kid called together Eryk Davis Ester, Faraway Lad, Helen, Lardy’s former wife and Pro-D, Lardy’s mascot. He revealed that The Office of Security had been employing Lardy as a freelance covert agent in the past, and Lard Lad was extremely accomplished with undercover ops, working without powers during this time. However, Lard Lad had cut off all contact months earlier, but Cobalt had finally found a lead: in the Dark Oval—one of the most dangerous sectors of the entire known galaxy. Home to the Dominion, the Black Sun and the Hrykosian Crime Cartel (a mixture of criminal masterminds and Viking warriors), the Dark Oval was not only a long-standing enemy of the United Planets, it was shrouded in mystery, also home to two additional mysterious partner entities. Until now, U.P. Intelligence has had very little success in their attempts to infiltrate the Dark Oval to learn more about it. In the Dark Oval, Lard Lad resurfaces, working with a recently promoted lieutenant named Huldnaf, in order to infiltrate the Hrykosian Clan Cartel. Jada Konti, one of Cobalt’s secret spies in the Dark Oval spots Lard Lad after years of searching for him, getting word to the Chief of Security so that he can join them. However, Lard Lad is soon revealed and caught by Daymen Hrykos, leader of the Hrykosian Cartel, who is husband to Lard Lad’s most hated enemy: Mordra the Harlot. Worse, Mordra has given Lard Lad’s lard force powers to Hrykos, who uses them to easily defeat Lard Lad. As they firs torture and beat Lard Lad, their terrible defilement of him continues as Mordra rapes him while under the charmed guise of his deceased first love. Beaten and almost completely beyond saving, Lardy awaits his doom, only for the arrival of Cobalt Kid and Jada Konti to save him. Cobalt heals Lardy’s physical wounds but grieves for his friend knowing that the mental wounds are far too horrible and will have long-lasting effects. Lard Lad immediately charges through the castle looking for vengeance and finds Hrykos, dueling with him with swords. As Cobalt enters the room to counter Hrykos’ use of the lard force, Lard Lad is able to defeat the enemy and sever his head—pulling back his lard force to him and reclaiming his powers. As Cobalt attempts to explain to Lardy the extent of what he’s just done Lard Lad rushes off to find Mordra, to see she awaits him, as she at last explains her obsession with him: the he is believed to be the Destroyer, the antichrist of the Church of the Eternal Void that is believed to first dominate and then destroy the universe. As Lard Lad steps back to reveal he would never commit those crimes against the universe, she reveals then perhaps his daughter, or worse, his newly conceived son in her womb will do so—and at last, he succumbs and murders her, though first using the lard force to pull the lifeforce of his newly conceived son from her womb. Immediately, Cobalt busts in and pulls Lardy away so they can exit the Dark Oval, though not before they regain both Jada Konti and the daughter of Lard Lad and Mordra, whom Lardy is now aware of, and saves. Fleeing and realizing that the political consequences of these events will be severe and cause great pain, Cobalt scolds Lardy for his double-murder, but Lard Lad explains he did was he must and defended his beloved and then punches Cobalt in the face, causing a lingering animosity between the two. Cobalt promises to keep this quiet and allow Lardy to return to the LMB and Legion World to regain some semblance of peace, but he now realizes he’s become complicit in what’s happened. One stop allows Jada to go on her way acting as Cobalt’s spy, while another has Lardy at last visit his ex-wife Helen, where he gives her two gifts: his baby daughter and the lifeforce of his unborn son so she might give birth to him and raise him, so at last he can give her a family in place of the love he never could. Lard Lad at last arrives on Legion World to meet the many new members and friends he’s never had the honor of knowing, and is greeted in kind, though his best friend, Cobalt sits back and wonders if perhaps they reached a critical turning point that will result in terrible things, and if Lard Lad has crossed a line he can never turn back from.Note - this was a onevision written by Lard Lad.

Please Note – a more indepth description of the Dark Oval will be covered in the next chapter

Yay! I'm back in-continuity! [Big Grin]

[cough] Hope there's at least a brief upcoming sub-section underlining the in-character and real-life significance of the return of a Founder to active duty![/cough]

BTW, I wonder if the "Recapturing the Magic" story features a false Lard Lad (as we've discussed before in other appearances) since you place TP: Now after it in the timeline.

Or would TP: Now more accurately belong before that story?

RtM probably belongs after it (since you were an active participant in the tag team). I meant to actually place it last, but must have forgotten to change that before I posted it. Its probably one of the more confusing tag stories we've ever done. Almost a little too much for even me [Big Grin]

Glad to see some comments in this thread!

I should be able to complete this era shortly (its all written) but then it'll probably take me some time to sum up Actor's term, since there's so much to include.

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part VI: Anecdotes during the Transition period following 6ML

Cobalt Kid and Spellbinder return from their six month vacation and rejoin the active LMB. Their friends are shocked to see them so committed to one another and truly in love. The Jectra Twins still are not on good terms with their parents following the Ggrrgg/Psyonia War and Crujectra’s subsequent relationship with Cobalt Kid.

SHAKES experiences a series of nights with posters from past years most associated with the bar including Semi, Vee, Mattropolis (formerly Danny Blaine), Icefyre, Cobalt Kid, Arachne, Abin Quank, Outdoor Miner and STU. Toasts to Space Ranger and the Emerald Empress are made.

Celebrated LMBer and Legion Worlder Lil’Rhino enjoys a special day of his own, as various Legion World citizens change their name to “__ Rhino” for the day, so that Lightning Lad becomes ‘Lightning Rhino’, Lash Lad becomes ‘Lash Rhino’ and so forth.

Noting how many surprise secrets the LMB have encountered over the years, Eryk Davis Ester considers the Secrets of LMB History!

Eryk Davis Ester, a pivotal member of the Legion World posting community since day one, becomes the fourth poster to reach Time Trapper Status and is celebrated as such!

For a brief period of time, it appears that Abin Quank has been assigned to permanent monitor duty, which becomes permanent Kid Prime duty for some odd reason.

The media sensationalism regarding the Actor Lad/Caliente/Tamper Lad love triangle dies down somewhat during this period, though the Evil Genius Supper Club becomes a focus, especially because its many guests include Nova Girl, Winema Wazzo and Thora. Caliente continues to work at the Evil Genius Supper Club as well, which induces many of her friends to also visit it. Cobalt Kid also conducts business with old allies and girlfriends there, such as the Khundish Ambassador’s daughter.

Umber remains a personality on Legion World that the media cannot help but love. During this period, she spends an odd amount of time at Dr. Mayavale’s Meditation Tent, which has an odd effect on her. Seeing herself more as an Acolyte of Mayavale’s, she professes that she has now become evil and takes the moniker ‘Evil Umber’. Being Cobalt Kid’s daughter many LMBers confess they ‘saw this one coming’ and were surprised it took this long. However, Umber, despite her new moniker, does not commit any evil acts so that she is evil in name only. Some wonder if this was all a joke, playing on one of Legion World’s long-held fears (Cobalt’s evil children).

The LMB meet a new personality on Legion World who displays the power of creating multiple clones for himself so that he can become his own army during battle. Impressed, the LMB quickly induct Walk with Crowds into the roster as an active part of the membership.

After reminiscing about his former co-leader Harbinger, Yellow Kid once more brings the controversial topic of Legion World’s shoes.

During this period, Cobalt Kid once more is gender-reversed to ‘Kid Cobalt’, in order to avoid having to celebrate the Ggrrggian holiday season of Rrrrkkkkgggghhhh.

A feline known as Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat begins making the rounds on Legion World, causing mayhem. Eventually, it returns to the jungle.

Quislet and the Royal Inquisitor continue to plan their wedding, as Spellbinder has Lucien Lad design her a new dress, Fat Cramer wonders what to get ‘the guy who hates everything’ and when Kent Shakespeare wonders if Dustin Hoffman will show up, Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid find it ironic that the Inquisitor once killed him. In order to select his groomsmen, Quislet opts for the route where they must submit applications.

Once more, the LMB tries to figure out ways to restore the Ghost of Numf-El to his former living state, and despite help from the LMBP Spectre and Lucien Lad, it is to no avail. The Ghost of Numf-El, by now accustomed to this existence is not as disappointed as he once was.

The Earth-1 version of Brainiac 5 journeys back to Legion World and spends time among the LMB, resuming his status among the active membership. Note – this refers to the poster ‘Brainiac 5, who from hence forward is the E1 version of him.

The Evil Genius Supper Club hosts a New Year’s Eve Party for Legion World citizens and many LMBers attend.

Lad Boy celebrates Mid-Atlantic Leather Week.

The sentient known as ‘Stewie’ from the universe known as ‘Family Guy’ crosses over to Legion World, and Polar Boy decides to throw a ‘sexy party’ to celebrate in response. Attendees include Kid Marvel, Lash Lad, Lad Boy, Brainiac 5, Caliente, Frio, Saturn Girl and Pariscub.

Fat Cramer creates an office for the Legion World denizens to discuss the various Legion World Cultural & Sporting Events.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day on Legion World, Spellbinder opens up Lady Crujectra's Valentine's Day Kissing Booth. Instantly it is a hit among gay and strait posters alike.

Cobalt Kid, Kid Prime, Semi-Transparent Fellow, Tamper Lad, Eryk Davis Ester, Kent Shakespeare, Lash Lad, and others reminiscence about Julie Fitzpatrick, a former groupie of the LMB.

Legion World and its economy get a scare when they learn that Outdoor Miner has given up drinking alcohol! Ordering non-alcoholic drinks , Miner shocks a populace that consider him the LMB’s most famous drinker.

Famous phrases 'mofo' and 'chatterbox' become popular during Legion World at this time and Lightning Lad, Mattropolis, Caliente, Brainiac 5, Disaster Boy, Yellow Kid, Fat Cramer, Cobalt Kid, Lash Lad, Eryk Davis Ester and others weigh on in it.

Everyday Girl, Cobalt Kid and Disaster Boy help Pagan Lass stop an Imp/Gnome War from occurring. Pagan Lass is named new Head of Mystic Crime Division as the Security Office following the departure of all the Avalonians. When Cobalt tries to tell Everyday Girl about STU, she thinks he’s teasing her.

Following an argument with Spellbinder, Everyday Girl is grounded for a period of time by Pagan Lass, who assumes her duties as well. Cobalt Kid and Abin Quank simply look on and nod in agreement with Pagan Lass being smart enough to know when *not* to give their opinions.

Beagle Boy tours the galaxy for his spring break and brings positive media coverage to the LMB.

A fan club is started for Thriftshop Debutante, long popular with many LMBers, whose membership includes Eryk Davis Ester, Cobalt Kid, Lash Lad, Kid Prime, Brainiac 5 and others. However, soon a Thriftshop Debutante Booster Society is begun by Kent Shakespeare and Quislet Esq, and the two groups find themselves at odds. Fat Cramer wishes to join both while Tamper Lad looked to start a third entity to bring Teeds fandom back together less it destroy Legion World completely.

The Beacon becomes a popular hot spot on Legion World again with the resurgence in posting by Mattropolis (formerly Danny Blaine).

Long-missing LMBer Iron Rat (STU) begins writing his memoirs in a far off realm that can only be reached by entering his ‘Surreal Estate’. Many newer members continue to believe that he is a practical joke played on them by older members.

Former LMBer Stately Wayne Manor Eater Lad, retired for some time, visits the LMB on Legion World and announces he still loves Earth-2’s Zoe.

Semi-Transparent Fellow announces that SHAKES infamous stock of liquors has now been improved even further with a wider selection of scotches. Kent Shakespeare, Tamper Lad, Rockhopper Lad and the Ghost of Numf-El enjoy discussing and researching this new popular Legion World topic.

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part VI: Anecdotes during the Transition period following 6ML (cont’d)

Faraway Lad, the second in command of Cobalt Kid’s Triumvirate Army and a famous war hero himself over the last few generations of UP soldiers, continues his heroic war and diplomatic exploits in far away lands.

As a practical joke, Cobalt Kid hires a gang of you punk kids to egg Eryk Davis Ester’s space-car while he is away on Greg Evignan Island, which incites Eryk enough to create the the Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang! Abin Quank publicly laments that such a group will most likely have a large membership and he’ll be left cleaning it up. Surprisingly, Lightning Lad, Legion World Founder whom Cobalt owes money to, joins up. As Cobalt Kid supporters such as Ghost of Numf-El and Matlock defend Cobalt, Kent Shakespeare creates the the Anti-Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang to defend Cobalt Kid, which is joined by previous Cobalt supporters, as well as Kid Prime and Semi-Transparent Fellow. Semi ensures there will be no anti-Cobalt meetings at SHAKES and speak for all the widows and babies of Legion World when he says they support Cobie. Fat Cramer notices that Eryk and Kent, the two leading factions, are also the same leaders within the schism of the Teeds fandom, suggesting a connection there. Reboot, a longtime non-supporter of Cobalt, creates the the Anti-Anti-Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang, which stands against the ‘Anti-Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang’, though it is not above aligning with the Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang in their vehement disapproval of Cobalt Kid, though negotiations will be complicated. In response, Kid Prime creates the the Anti-Anti-Anti-Anti-Cobalt Kid Gang to combat them, and violence is on the verge of breaking out. Cobalt publicly says that he hopes this rift in his fandom can be healed, but he’s actually quite flattered and delighted about the passionate violent behavior being produced. Tamper Lad, once again calling for the rift to be healed creates the The Non-Aligned Cobalt Kid Ambivalence Societies , whose membership includes Disaster Boy and Star Boy. Yellow Kid also proposes a solution, creating the The Cobalt Kid Rescue Squad, with mini-versions of Cobalt flying to his rescue, and this squad is joined by Lash Lad. Spellbinder also creates her own group, The Alliance of Cobalt Kid Girlfriends and Wives who didn't get pregnant or go insanely evil!, which she quickly realizes, basically amounts to just herself! Eventually, Eryk realizes that all this attention on Cobalt, whether positive or negative, is exactly what he craves and allows the entire matter to drop. However, leading political parties created by Eryk Davis Ester and Kent Shakespeare remain apparent among the LMB membership.

Mattropolis reveals where he was during his missing time from the LMB to Kent Shakespeare, Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid, which a long story involving alternate dimensions, time travel and peanut butter.

During this time, Lard Lad returns to the LMBP and Legion World following the events of ‘Turning Point’ (covered in the previous section). He gradually begins to readjust to LMB life and slowly becomes a part of the team and Legion World once more.

During this time a very popular cultural and political topic on Legion World is Bunnies with Pancakes on their Heads, and Lash Lad even signifies this by transforming himself into a bunny rabbit and wearing a pancake on his head for a period of time.

The Tomato/Spinach Controversy of 3006 – With political factions apparent in the LMBP membership at large, a particular controversy heated up Legion World during this era. Eryk Davis Ester, leader of the spinach camp, revealed his his love of spinach, which at first met with general agreement. However, Kent Shakespeare quickly revealed his love for tomatos as well, though he also liked spinach. Immediately, factions began to form as anti-tomato-ites, such as Eryk and Quislet Esq vehemently showed their anti-tomato stance, while LardLad warned against spinach because of old LMB enemy Entropy Spinach, which put him into the anti-spinach camp. At first, the anti-tomato backlash was hard felt, as Cobalt Kid, Lash Lad, Kent and others suggested 101 people who have disliked tomatos, which included the most vile criminals in the history of all that is. Reboot, an old enemy of tomatos , soon found himself being called into the fray. Tamper Lad, ever the logical pragmatist, revealed the nasty effect spinach has on bunny rabbits, since bunny rabbits were also an important political topic during this time, which instantly put him in the anti-spinach camp. Eryk Davis Ester responds that poisonous to cats, and calls on Legion World’s feline community to support him. Cobalt Kid, whose presence alone had previously polarized Legion World, attempted to bring together the factions, suggesting that asparagus was the most superior vegetable of them all, which many agreed to. Eventually, the controversy died down, and both Eryk Davis Ester and Kent Shakespeare couldn’t help but gain a mutual respect for each other’s passion and political skills. However, the factions still continued on forever after, with two political parties known as the Spinachicans and the Tomatocrats.

I have to say this, breaking the timeline—this was one of the most fun times posting ever for me, these few weeks where the run-on threads were fast and furious. Brilliant, hysterical posts, one after another.

During this time period, a public battle in the streets occurs between Disaster Boy and Everyday Girl, although the Security Office releases a statement that this was a training exercise for the two newest members.

Brainiac 5 continues to notice the frequent spelling errors committed by Cobalt Kid, which Legion World had grown accustomed to. Using extra funds from the Security Office budget, he creates a new division for the Security Office, the Official Cobalt Kid Spell-checker Office Lucifer Lass comments that Cobie's lack of ability to spell reminds the Legion World citizens that there are imperfections in even the greatest of heroes. Which in turn reminds us that there are positive traits in even the greatest of villains.

Once more, insights and questions are made regarding the true nature and identity of CJ Taylor (Enigma), but no answers are given.

Legion World celebrates Administrative Assistant's Day and its most famous Admin, Jailbait Lass, receives a present from her boss, Cobalt Kid.

Eryk Davis Ester, Lucien Lad, Quislet Esq and Cobalt Kid go on an Espionage Mission, where it is believed that 21st Century writer Mark Waid became an official member. Elsewhere, Stealth comes and goes on Legion World, involved in her own mysterious espionage mission.

Café Cramer remains a popular hot spot on Legion World throughout this entire period among all segments of Legion World and the LMBP.

SHAKES remains Legion World’s premier establishment for Legion Worlders of all eras, and stays a place to get away from real life problems and LMB events. Many of the things occurring throughout LMB and Legion World history can be reflected in posts at SHAKES, while most of the time its remains a place for great interaction among the wide array of personalities that inhabit Legion World. As always, Semi-Transparent Fellow and Varalent are always available to offer a good sense of humor, smiles and a touch of class to the customers.

Celebrated intergalactic hero and the greatest detective to ever live Matlock has yet another child to make it an even dozen.

Still in Takron-Galtos, the Red Bee continues to write letters to various LMBers, hoping to incite them into rage. He changes pace slightly, and writes Disaster Boy a letter, which mysteriously hints at the Bee having knowledge of Disaster Boy’s origins and possible parentage. Previously thought to have learned at least his parentage in Infinite Crisis, Disaster Boy becomes anxious in learning more. Recalling his earliest days as an ally of Dark Priestess Viviane in “The Good, the Dark and the Dead”, the Red Bee hopes to turn Disaster Boy back towards the side of evil—and Disaster Boy’s nature means he cannot help but consider it. From here on, Disaster Boy finds it harder and harder to stay on Legion World.

Shark Lad continues to be an important part of the LMB and the Security Office, although he secretly continues to search for his siblings, Psychotic Beaver and Studley Woodchuck—though he ultimately cannot find them. Though he is often quick to go into bezerker rage, he attempts to balance it, using his doctorate in psychology to provide other work that also benefits him.

During this time, Semi-Transparent Fellow takes a leave of absence from the LMBP and Legion World. Emerald Varalent agrees to maintain SHAKES, although he is sad to see his paramour leave. Many LMBers also are saddened to see one of Legion World’s mainstays take a leave of absence.

Around this time, Kent Shakespeare, as a member of the super-secret Department of External Affairs, begins having diplomatic discussions with the Dominion. During the course of this, he begins to take on some Dominator-type qualities, which causes some anxiety among other LMBers. It is believed that he had some knowledge about the future Dominion incursions into the UP during Invasion and was working here to prevent such an occurrence.

Fat Cramer shows her open-mindedness when she serves Dominators at Café Cramer.

Walk with Crowds created his own establishment on Legion World, WalkwithCrowds Hoose, and soon received many visitors.

Cobalt Kid mentions to fellow security officers during a security meeting his odd feelings concerning the mysterious bloodline of Pornis, the One Called the One, Lucifer Lass, Lard Lad and Eryk Davis Ester (which may include CJ Taylor), and sees that other Security Officers, such as Caliente and Shark Lad are also interested.

Fat Cramer organizes the formation of the Legion World Bureaucracy Club, which quickly gains many members. Fat Cramer, Faraway Lad, Kent Shakespeare, Walk with Crowds and Quislet Esq show off skills required for this club.

Looking to get his old friend more involved with daily life on Legion World, Cobalt Kid offers Lard Lad a job at the Office of Security and Lard Lad accepts.

A statue of Princess Crujectra's Bust is created and placed on Legion World’s ‘Statue Way’.

With the growth of political parties and the free-flowing nature of political discussions on Legion World throughout this era, there is a new view on politics in that it is a healthy thing that should be allowed to blossom, and that the old terrible days of political discontent may be gone. This leads to further talk about LMB Elections and Leaders, which had been on the mind of certain LMBers for many years. In viewing old threads, Cobalt Kid noticed when Eryk Davis Ester once ran for leader he demanded he not be excluded from the proceedings. Thus, Cobalt explained that he was demanding that Eryk *SHOULD* be excluded from the proceedings hoping such talk would inspire Eryk and others. Knowing full well that a format was created during the LMB Constitution Convention, Eryk announced he would gladly help run election for LMB Leader and Deputy Leader if there was interest. Immediately, the LMB at large let it be known that there was. The old discussions of elections as a bad thing had been years earlier and the membership of the current LMB was a far cry than what it was during the elections that resulted in dark times and crisis. Thus, Eryk joined Cobalt Kid and Spellbinder (the permanent third monitor in elections) as the trio that would run the future elections. The membership at large was pleased and thus, it was announced that the elections would be run by the three via the Election Tyrant, an automated Alt ID controlled by them. The candidates soon announced themselves (which will be covered in the next section).

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part VII: The Election of Actor Lad and Kent Shakespeare

For years the topic of leader and deputy leader of the LMBP had been a hot-button issue that continued in a variety of forums and discussions with a variety of members. While it was once a topic that caused vehement debate, the LMBP itself had shifted since the days when the elections caused controversy or were met with much resistance, and there were a wide range of members in the LMBP that never experienced the elections and certainly never experienced them during the age when they were nothing but fun and easy-going. Thus, when the notion was at last presented publicly by Cobalt Kid to Eryk Davis Ester, and the latter agreed to run the elections with Cobalt and Spellbinder, it was largely met with wide approval.

Further, in place already was the manner in which to conduct the elections, created during the LMBP Constitutional Convention by a variety of posters. Though the convention itself was unsuccessful, it shall always be noted for creating the election process that is entirely proficient. Since its creation there was indeed a large segment of LMBers that had always wanted the elections to return, even from their disappearance eighteen months earlier, that waited for the chance to spring it on the LMBP at large. When it at last came, everything was in place in order to run the elections.

The following candidates nominated themselves for LMBP Leader
The Ghost of Numf-El
Lard Lad
Kent Shakespeare
Actor Lad
Liberty Monkey
Winema Wazzo

Longtime Legion Worlders the Ghost of Numf-El, Kent Shakespeare and Actor Lad quickly signed up for the chance to lead the LMBP, while Winema Wazzo, ever the opportunist quickly tried to use this to her advantage, but soon realized there would be no support for her in this era. Calamity Monkey, well-known as a super-pet but having proved himself in the past during Infinite Crisis and “the Good, the Dark and the Dead” decided to enter public life and revealed himself to be very well-spoken and political inclined, and even changed his moniker to Liberty Monkey, and finally joined the LMBP proper’s active roster. Lard Lad, former LMBP Leader and Founder, hoped this would help encourage LMBers he did not know to meet him, though he secretly hoped that his leading the LMBP would help in the trouble he knew must follow after his trouble in the Dark Oval.

The LMBP Enquirer provided its own coverage of the election, while each candidate had its own campaign trail. During the course of the elections, both Actor Lad and Kent Shakespeare openly questioned whether Alt IDs should be allowed to run, referring to Liberty Monkey. This inspired many Alt IDs to speak against them, including Lurker Lass, mistress of the Alt ID Center, who took a nod from Space Ranger and became a speaker for Alt IDs. Though it appeared tensions hoped long forgotten might appear, these quickly dissipated while the election focused on other topics. During a period where Liberty Monkey appeared to be missing however, Lucifer Lass made accusations against the other candidates, as well as Monkey-Eater Lad and Eryk Davis Ester of foul-play (the latter because of Liberty Monkey’s name change, the former for obvious reasons).

As the election came to a close, the votes were at last in. The new LMB Leader was named Actor Lad and the new Deputy Leader was named Kent Shakespeare! With new elected leaders for the first time since the autumn 3004, it appeared a New Age had at last begun for the LMBP!

Year Seven: 6ML and the transition to the Diamond Age LMBP
Part IX: Summary of Year Seven

Year Seven began in this narrative with the historical moniker ‘the All-New, All-Different LMBP’, as it was exactly that with a cadre of new members and a sense of coming using the saga “The God, the Dark and the Dead” to re-energize the membership and clear the plate of all the rough months prior to that period. Infinite Crisis then served as one final chance to finish longtime storylines, send characters into a new direction and give the LMBP a new, clear beginning. The next long period that was covered, which in real time was eight entire months, and for the LMB was about roughly the same, was very much a transitional phase for the group. This phase allowed all of themes following Infinite Crisis and prior a chance to expand outwards for things to move towards the next age, which would have clear beginnings with the elections of Actor Lad and Kent Shakespeare (and thus the restoration of the election tradition) and then the new storylines introduced with Invasion and then beyond.

This transitional phase thus allowed for first a consolidation of membership after Infinite Crisis, which meant a further continuation of the theme that Infinite Crisis meant a finale to many longtime plots and character bits, while then second giving a long period of time to pass so that members that once felt ‘new’ or even ‘sophomore’ were very much an established part of the LMBP and Legion World. If that sentiment was there after Infinite Crisis, it was very much beyond sentiment at this point and pure fact.

Year Seven was a year of immense change throughout. The LMBP at the start of Year Eight was entirely different than the one at the close of Year Six, perhaps the greatest single year of change in LMBP history. Each segment described above marks one of three natural steps to this change, though while living through it, one would never be to realize it. In fact, that year produced some of the freshest, funniest and move lively threads in the history of LMBP, including the ‘run-on threads’ previously mentioned, as well as the many onevisions and tag threads. Change, indeed, gives creative incentive to people to live in the moment and push forward. The sheer amount of energy found during daily life in this period never ceased for a moment, so that for the first time in Legion World history since its first year there was not a ‘Winter lull’ or a ‘Spring lull’—those cyclical ups and downs were not apparent throughout Year Seven, showing perhaps better than anything else just how much things had changed.

Though labeled a ‘transitional’ period because it is historical convenient to categorize it as such, this entire year was marked with fun and liveliness and a continual explosion of energy in various forms. That energy inspired both a renewed focus on bringing back old traditions in a positive light, as well as moving forward to new places and down new avenues of fun. A new status quo existed within the LMBP as it moved into the Diamond Age, and it was a place none could predict, and quite delightfully so.
