I wasn't necessarily super-fussy and highbrow at the time I first read The Judas Contract.
Still, I could never get a clear picture in my mind of how Addie could've shot out Slade's eye without him dying instantly. Was he half-turned around? Was he facing her? I mean WTF?
To this day, it still kind of bugs me.

I figure his superduper reflexes allowed him to turn just enough so that she shot through the orbit of his eye and across the front of his nose, not a direct hit through his head...

i think she shot him through the back of the head and it came out his eye .... he has brain matter to spare .... anyway then he must've jumped out the window and fled because otherwise I think my Addie would've gotten the job done and stuffed him with five more bullets!

It's just sloppy writing and story telling.
The more I participate in writing critique groups, the more dissatisfied I become with writers who sacrifice logic for dramatic effect or who leave it to readers to fill in information the story itself should contain.

That always bugged me, too. They were less than five feet apart. That bullet should have gone right through his eye and into his brain (if he turned to face her), or into the back of his head (if he didn't have time to).
Something funky like him dodging the intial shot, and getting caught by a ricochet, or debris flying off of something that had been hit by the bullet (like a shard of glass from a window or a clock on the mantle or something) might have made sense, but been harder to explain with such limited use of panels.
Oh hey, it's Slade with blonde hair. Which he's been retconned not to have, since Rose *inherited his white hair,* according to Wintergreen... Gah.
Ah, the Judas Contract. Those heady days before Jericho went evil and died a bunch of times! When all that Starfire-luvin' finally made a man out of Dick and he started wearing long pants! When Terra snuck up on the naturally empathic Raven because she was 'a natural actor, able to keep her feelings from showing on her face.' ???
