Waid is doing a podcast called 15 Minutes with Mark Waid, in which he, with Ian Brill and Daphna from Boom! Studios talk about comics. It's not just the Boom! productions, Waid covers various aspects of the industry and there are often Legion bits.
The most recent one is about the Legion Clubhouse/Fortress Lad story, what it was intended to be and how it finally came out in the Secret Origins issue.
These are very entertaining programs. Muchos Majalos!
"The number one Legion fan in the world is Paul Levitz. Number two is me. Everybody else at best is vying for third place." -- paraphrasing Waid
hmmm.. well, I guess I'd have to give him that one, particularly based on their bodies of work. Oh that Waid would work for Levitz...
in re Fat Cramer comment ("what it was intended to be")... It was done, but not published. Said canceled Schaffenberger clubhouse origin story was inked by Ty Templeton (whom I suspect also had a hand in the writing), which credit Mark neglects to include -- probably benignly and unintentionally, as I recall he did refer to "we" when discussing the stories' creations.

The scrapped Legion Clubhouse story is awesome. I love how it was written in more of a storybook style than a standard comic.
15 Minutes with Waid is an awesome podcast. I love the episode they did called "The APApocolypse". His story about the audio drama he and a friend recorded was priceless.
