It all depends on your monitor settings. To me they are way small and stretched out. But my laptop's required monitor setting is 1440x900 so most banners look weird to me.

I have very strong feelings myself, but they're for IMs. (If they're worth saying at all.) Anyway, this Website is Scott's and Gary's clubhouse, and not ours. They will decorate it as they see fit.
I've come to think -- changing how I used to see this -- that we really have no business commenting about the site's esthetic quality, or lack thereof, in public. Either to praise it or decry it. Unless they explicitly ask for our comments, and they haven't asked us.
Malfunctioning graphics or similar matters, that's another story. It would help for reasons of fitting browser windows to have these banners as narrow as possible. The main-forum-page logo and the checkerboard, for example, are still too wide unless you have at least an 800 x 600 browser window.

Well, what happened to the extra decorations, anyway? I hope Gary hasn't given up entirely on adding such Legion-related touches. They did somewhat slow down the loading of each page, but almost any graphic can do that.
