This week wasn't that expensive for me. After my discount I think I spent $42. But last week. $70 or $75 after my discount. I'm really thinking of signing up with DCBS after we move. I calculated out my Novemeber order at $173.15. With their discount and shipping it comes to $119.81. About a $55 savings. At my shop it would have been around $20.

I'll probably still support them but I can't pass up that kind of savings.

Some spoiler-free reviews follow!

HERO 8

So now we all know what would happen if the guys from JACKASS got their hands on a hero-dial. Fun story. Pfeifer has a talent for writing excellent, satisfactory conclusions. That isn't always easy! He's a pro at it. Those of you who aren't reading HERO, get off your collective arses and go at least try issues 7-8 for this arc. Don't make me come over and lay the smackdown on you.

HAWKMAN 19

Guess Johns finally hooked me with The Thanagarian arc and this was a strong issue too. Love the ties to JSA current events.

FLASH 202

I was dubious of the new direction and the departure of Scott Kolins but those fears have been laid to rest (though I still think the events which LED to this new direction make the Hal Jordan Spectre look like a dumbass). The current direction is very noir-ish and new artistic find Alberto Dose is gonna be big Big BIG, trust!

SIMPSONS 86

With Bongo's recent price hike to $3 a book, I considered dropping this, but any book that makes me giggle like this one is a keeper. "Hitler's Surf Nazis"? And hey, didya know the flapping of a butterfly's wings in China can almost destroy Springfield?
