I saw that too (posted that in the Legion forum). I didn't realize it, but the two could be connected (I was hoping for a Superman when he was Boy guest-featuring the Legion series there).
I want Captain Comet, Adam Strange, etc., and I know many other LWers have a love of LEGION and the Omega Men.
Good science-fiction comics are hard to find these days, and I love the old DC Silver Age (and pre-Silver, depending on your view of the Captain) space-heroes.

OYL Titans revealed that one of their characters is still in space. Seems there's lots of stuff to be explored out there.
I expect that they'll add a non-green lantern space project at some point just to build on some of the stuff from RT War and Infinite Crisis.

Ugh. A bunch of unnecessary changes (including his name - why not find a reason to keep it rather than drop the Captain if it's that important to have it have a meaning *sheesh*) and yet another character death.
It's probably a great character too. In fact, I bet it's going to be Prince Gavyn, Starman. Cause DC thinks we're too stupid to comprehend that there might be more than one character with the same name. And just to bring "life" back into a character no one was asking to come back.

Well, I'm not much of a Captain Comet fan but the fact that Starlin is writing and drawing the backups is more than enough to make me pick up the mini.

I have been wanting one lightly {read, not as much as a firestorm book, but still wanting it none the less) for years. I always thought there was a tremendous amount of potential there, and his costume really reminded me of a legion costume.
-------------------- Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
- I'm not that impressed with the new look. The new costume looks more like a variation of the Darkstars uniform. Also, Ivan Reis did a fine job of updating the '70s outfit in R/T War.
- I also liked that Reis had him looking more his age. It's a pity that, with all the talk about DC's new diversity, that we're not seeing heroes that are older.
- The image of the new-look Comet standing over the corpse of the old-look Comet makes me nervous.
- For the second name in the character's history, he gets an appearance because Adam Strange wasn't available. The first time was with L.E.G.I.O.N.
- Per Jim Starlin: "Since there was a lot of Captain Comet in 52, I used him as a substitute." Interesting.
- So the bad guys front for an interstellar church, eh? How many times can Starlin go to this well?
- I'm in for this. Probably. But this shouldn't surprise any of you.

I'm definately in. That being said I both have (1) high hopes and (2) strong reservations about some things. The name change & 'new' Captain Comet (given the vagueness of that statement) seem stupid, but overall, I'm excited to see the Captain in a starring role. I love the character like OM does, and hope has good screen time in 52 too.
And jeepers, I haven't read 'the Weird' since I was like 11 years old. I can't remember a thing about it other than I didn't really like it then.
