So I saw the rereading the Gerry Conway's Legion thread and decided to participate since I have a lot of those issues and that got me into a big re-reading the Legion period kick. So I started at the beginning of my collection (which isn't impressive) and I got to the few Adventure era issues I actually own (everything else is in Showcase format). Now I picked these up cheap at some convention somewhere so they aren't in the best shape.

I get to Adventure 370, "The Devil's Jury". Mordru has our heroes in his grasp and is crushing them with his power. The heroes (Superboy, Mon-El, Duo Damsel and Shadow Lass) escape by having Superboy and Mon dig a tunnel through the ground back to the Kent's where Superboy using his super power of plot convenience to whip up a device that will give the heroes temporary amnesia about their super-heroic identities so Mordru can not track them by their thoughts.

Mordru, in a impressive sequence IMO, searches the thoughts of everyone in Smallville to find the heroes, but can not find them. However, his magic interferes with the heroes' minds and causes the amnesia to no longer be temporary (it was supposed to wear off after an hour). Mordru then lifts Smallville into to space and summons his armies.

Pete Ross realizes something is up when Clark doesn't change into Superboy and gets with Lana to help Clark regain his memory, so he tells her Clark's secret. Lana (as Insect Queen) kidnaps Clark (and can I say Insect Queen has to be one of the most bizarre and in a way disturbing recurring characters in comics I have ever seen). Pete then tries to cut Clark's hair and the scissors break. Clark then remembers he is Superboy and flies in his pajamas to get reinforcements. then we see the Legionnaires as prisoners and being judged by a jury of the greatest criminals of the 30th century.

Now if that last sentence seemed off to you imagine how I felt. After a double take I realized that Clark and his pajamas takes place on page 12, the jury of criminals is on page 17. I would really like to know what happens in those 5 pages.

On page 18, we hear how Superboy and Mon-El first trapped the Dark Lord and then Pete Ross makes an impassioned defense of the heroes, that falls on deaf ears. The prisoners are sentenced to execution but the chamber they are supposed to die in is a fake, turns out Pete's words awakened the free will of one of the sorcerers . Mordru kills the guys and then goes to kill the Legionnaires but ends up bringing the cavern down on himself thus defeating him self.

So yeah, if anyone could tell me what happens on those 5 pages I would appreciate it. also, slightly curious to how Duo Damsel and Shadow Lass can just move in with two Smallville familes and take on these other identities (Marie Elkins and Betsy Norcross respectively). Thanks!

Now on to the second request, Adventure 379.
I have Adventure 378, the first part to this tale, and am just curious to how it ends (other than that none of the Legionnaires actually die).

In this story four Legionnaires (Superboy, Duo Damsel, Princess Projectra, Karate Kid) celebrate Brainy's birthday with him (only four Legionnaires, how sad, did no one else want to come to the party?). Where they drink some poison (but not from the drink, which they checked, but from the cups that were coated with it, and Brainy even noticed a strange taste but kept drinking anyways *shakes head*). The rest of the issue mainly deals with how the five deal with their last 12 hours of life before they all get together again to leave their will and be together when they die. During this time we see a shadowy figure laughing about killing them and they not knowing who is responsible or why.

So that's what I want to know, who poisoned the Legionnaires, why and how did they get out of it?

Greatly appreciated guys, and I know if anyone has the answers it is Legion World!

P.S. wasn't sure if this thread belonged here or not, if not feel free to move to the right spot.

Nothing is more irritating than missing comic book pages.

Adventure #370:

Page 13 contains one of my favorite lines in all of Legion history. Superboy grabs the hypnosis ray and flies through Smallville restoring the Legionnaires' memories. He says, "Get your fighting togs on and meet me at the old Hanford place."

The Legionnaires get into uniform and meet to plan for the battle with Mordru.

Page 14 starts "Part II" of the story. The Legionnaires go back to their temporary homes to rest for the night. Lana and Shadow Lass engage in some girl talk. Lana being so excited she can't sleep. The next morning in the Kent basement Duo Damsel splits, and Pete puts on a Superboy disguise. Mon El, Pete in disguise, and Duo Damsel (one half disguised as Shadow Lass) enegage in battle with Mordru's soldiers on the streets of Smallville.

On page 15, they are captured, bound and taken before Mordru.

Page 16: Superboy, Shadow Lass, and Insect Queen attempt a surprise attack on Mordru. He turns his magic on them and defeats them.

Page 17: Mordru magically transports the captured Legionnaires to the courtroom where they are to be tried by the greatest criminals of the 30th century.

Here's a synopsis of # 379

A mysterious alien visits Legion HQ to seek assistance. Seeing what has transpired, he stops time so that the poisoned Legionnaires do not die, and the intruder who poisoned them remains frozen.

When seven more Legionnaires--Ultra Boy, Lightning Lad, Phantom Girl, Chameleon Boy, Chemical King, Timber Wolf, and Star Boy--arrive, the alien identifies himself as a Seeron, a member of super-intellectual race. He offers to save the poisoned Legionnaires if the others assist him. Ultra Boy, then leader, says they have no choice and agrees.

The Seeron transports the Legionnaires to Seeris, his homeworld, where the planet's leaders tell them about their world: Long ago, the Seerons became a purely intellectual race and relied on machines for their basic needs. However, their lack of physical prowess left them at the mercy of brutish invaders; the Legionnaires, hence, have been called to repel the invaders.

After several false starts (including Ultra Boy having to choose between doing his Legion duty and protecting Phantom Girl, who had been injured in battle), Ultra Boy convinces the Seerons to fight the invaders themselves. Since the Seerons greatly outnumber the invaders, they prevail.

Meanwhile, Invisible Kid and Shrinking Violet arrive at Legion HQ and, thinking Superboy and the others dead, arrange for them to be buried in space. (Vi wants to launch an investigation, but no: Lyle insists that they have to be buried right away!) When Ultra Boy and the others return, they are alarmed to see the poisoned Legionnaires gone, as the Seerons promised only that those within the walls of Legion HQ would be cured of all afflictions. So, Ulta Boy does what the Legion should have done all along: He breaks out the Miracle Machine in order to cure the poisoned Legionnaires and bring them home.

The poisoner turns out to be an obscure criminal named Alek Korlo, whom the Legion had once arrested.

Wow! Thanks guys! I knew you would pull through.

Also, sounds like having DD split in two and disguise one of her selves as another Legionnaire (so the other Legionnaire can do a sneak attack) is a brilliant use of her powers. How come we didn't see stuff like that more often?
