I'm currently reading the Supergirl Showcae. Neat stuff. Real campy and full of super-dickery. The biggest is that Superman makes Kara stay in an orphanage and not get adopted.

In the Supergirl story in Action #275, Supergirl has a dream that she was the daughter of Jor-el & Lara, that she was sent to Earth, and that she was adopted by the Kents. The dream has some familar stuff, The Kents using the Kryptonian blankets to make a super playsuit. But there are some differences, a nice Lex Luthor for example.

And the part where Superboy finds Krypto's rocketship is there, but instead of Krypto, a parrot flies out. We know it is a super-parrot because it flies into and knocks down a tree. Linda Kent (aka Supergirl) makes the parrot her pet, naming him Squawky.

She teaches him to talk and he later repeats Ma Kent saying "Linda Kent is Supergirl". Later when Supergirl has Squawky perform a super-feat (because she couldn't get away), Lex Luthor sees Squawky break off branches with his wing and then fly into the Kent house. He also hears Squawky saying that Linda is Supergirl. Lex then tells the local Big Man on Campus (and creep), upon whom Supergirl has a crush, but he ignores her as Linda.

Squawky was not given a cape. Plus with him not looking out of the ordinary flying around, it is not surprising that there was no clamor for a return of Squawky outside of a dream. Alas poor Squawky, we hardly knew ye.

Great find!

We need avatars, graemlins, threads, discussions, theories by EDE about his role in those various 'untold' Legion tales, arguements, debate over Shakiri being the reboot Squawky and all other sorts of triubation!

Anyone catch the ROBOT CHICKEN episode that featured a Super-Pets quickie? Krypto, Beppo, Streaky and Comet are all featured and called by name! Proty wasn't used, but in his place was Hissy, the Super-Snake... complete with red cape and everything. Funny.
