Recent discussion has made me want to look back over my preboot collection and see exactly how friendly or not friendly Jecky was with other Legionnaires.
I don't have any great examples yet, except from the Space Circus thread, I noticed she was often quite brisk with Brainy.
I'll be posting reviews of actual scenes soon. Other insights are welcome of course....

I'm looking forward to your findings, Sketchy.
Projectra wasn't one of my favorite characters, so I never paid much attention to how she was portrayed. Like others, though, I remember her frequent illnesses in the Grell run and her devotion to Karate Kid.
In fact, the first time I encountered Projectra was in SUPERBOY # 198 ("The Fatal Five Who Twisted Time"). She spends a lot of time holding hands with Val in that story and doesn't interact much with the other Legionnaires.
A lovesick teenager with curly white hair . . . that was my impression of her.

Projectra saved the day in the very first Legion story I ever read, by convincing Amalgamax that he'd acquired the same space-disease that killed his father, but I don't remember much about her portrayal in that story other than that. She'd pretty much left the series by the time I started reading regularly, until she came back as Sensor Girl.
I do remember reading the issue where Marte Allon is elected president, and there's a scence where Jeckie is arguing for the virtues of monarchy over democracy, which always seemed pretty definitive of her character.

Preboot, no. Waidboot, you betcha. Rude and then some (though in the beginning, she may have had good cause, it just goes to show you where rudeness inevitably leads...)

That was my first Legion story, too. WORLD'S FINEST #283-284, right?

Pre-Sensor Girl days, did Jeckie ever really have any interactions with anyone other than Val anyway?
I kind of get the impression she kept herself at a distance from the others because of the whole royalty thing...

I was never sure if it was the royalty thing, or a dash of insecurity. She may have been a Princess, but she was a princess of a backwater feudal-status planet. While the rest of the United Planets was all shiny and had spaceships and rayguns and food synthesizers, her people were running around farming fields and learning how to use those cutting edge crossbows.
One the one hand, she's been raised to understand that she's a very special person, but out in the wider UP, she's like Huckleberry's queen of the pumpkin fest, surrounded by celebrities and supermodels.
It's possible Jeckie played her cards close to her vest, more often than not, for the same reason Marilyn Monroe didn't talk much about her past as Norma Jean, for fear of being 'outed' as a poseur who didn't belong in the glittering crowd she walked among.
Shadow Lass seems to have a dash of this sort of mentality in some portrayals as well, only she flaunts it and throws it in people's faces, mentioning her very special champion status fairly often, and, in the Threeboot, even going so far as to snippily comment to Brainy about how her people were 'savages' or 'barbarians' when they start trying to carve up one of the alien destroyers.
I don't think that the intention of that scene in particular was to suggest that Shadow Lass thinks of her own people as 'savages,' so much as she's a bit prickly about the rest of the UP casting aspersions on her people's traditions and way of life, of which she is proud (and a touch defensive).

I'm currently in the midst of reviewing the Conway era. I'm making side notes about her interactions with people. I'll do deeper research on her when I'm done with the Conway stories.

There was a great scene in the story where Tenzil takes Vi out on a date (after we see Tenzil's messed up family) - Jeckie helps Vi get ready and admires her gown. They talk like good friends.
On the other hand, in the Thora story, there's that scene where the girls are busy decorating, sewing curtains, and Jeckie is just sitting on a couch, talking to them while they work. She could be friendly, but she seemed to have some real princess characteristics.

great moment in the Baxter series, after Brainy apologized to her for his behavior during the "Who is Sensor Girl?" storyline, when Jeckie replied (in effect) "one apology is enough for a lifetime" ... I always loved that line ...

And I remember after that she kind of told him not to do anything like that ever again, and I got the impression she hurt his finger...
Also, in the issue just before the Universo Project started, she was telling Jacques a story of her early Legion days. It was nice how she reached out to him.

Wow, I can't believe that never occurred to me before, that's a brilliant interpretation!
Jeckie always seemed to be really proud of her home and traditions etc, but it would make sense that once she was living in the wider UP she would feel a bit of a hick...
