Hey guys, NSB-Lad here. I know I'm not the most most known or...well, I just ain't that big in the ol' LW [Big Grin] but that's not from not caring! My internet availablity is remarkably unreliable, so it has for a large portion of my recent life been unavailable...

I'm kinda rambling, I'm sorry. Anyhoo, I've been toying with the idea of an epic Legion fanfic for quite a while(one of my RL friends, who's also a huge fan of the legion, says its sort of "A Five Years Later, only the Legion didn't exist BEFORE", if that makes any sense). Needless to say, I'm probably gonna be asking a lot of inane little nitpicky questions in the upcoming months, so please no one hit me [Smile]

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for good solid Legion Cadets. later in the story, once I've developed the Legion, I want some trainees that are unique to this story, with no former standing in any legion. Let me give you an example of what I mean.

This one was given to me by a RL friend (same one I mentioned before actually)

Name: Simn Schwyz
Code Name: 'Gut'
Home Planet: Kathoon
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 380 lbs.
Eyes: Gray
Hair: Black

Bio: Simn Schwyz was always comfortable skating by on the least amount of effort. It wasn't that he was stupid or malicious, he just had a problem taking anything seriously, including his own life. His job as night watchman of a Kathoonan Space Port allowed him to pay the few bills he aquired, and enough left over to pay for whatever indulgences suited his shiftless life. That all changed after an Altoran Globule, after stowing away on deep space research craft, attacked and bonded with him. Spending months in a comatose state only to find he survived unscathed due to some tiny genetic abnormality sombered the otherwise happily apathetic Simn, and he resolved to do _something_ with his life, after discovering the Globule's residence in his body gave him considerable abilities, decided to apply for the new Legion Academy, vowing for once to take something seriously.

Powers: Simn has become infested with a creature known as an "Altoran Globule", a nonsentient creature that bonds symbiotically with mammalians to survive in oxygen rich enviornments. Normally, the bonding process severely cripples or kills the host, but Simn somehow survived unscathed. Indeed, he came to find that the Globule endowned him with abilities far behind the Galactic Standard. The Globule, a creature of large proportion and native to much more gravity-rich enviornments, endowned its host with enhanced strength, marginal invulnerability, and mild adaptation powers (internal conversion of water to usable oxygen if he were drowning, a gelantinous sealed coating if he were in space unprotected, etc.). Simn also found that he could move the internal mass of the Globule around, shifting his form slightly. All these abilities come at a cost, however; Simn has to eat and drink huge quantities of food in order to function, or otherwise suffer crippling pain and very soon after, death.

They certainly don't have to be as involved as that one. Does anyone have any ideas they wouldn't mind parting with? [Smile]

I designed these characters for another setting. In the Mutants & Masterminds game, one of the writers created a 2525 setting with a future 'Freedom Legion,' and I was inspired to create a team called 'Freedom's Rejects,' as a sort of homage to the Legion of Substitute Heroes (just as his Freedom Legion was an homage to the Legion of Super-Heroes).

That being said, the characters all have pretty developed backstories, fairly distinct personalities and some fairly unusual power-sets. Most of them are also quite alien, often notably more so than a typical humanoid Legionnaire.

You're free to check them out, or other teen hero characters on my site, for inspiration.
