I have no idea if this is an apocryphal story or not. However, back in High School Sociology, they used cannibalism to illustrate the subjective nature of morality.
A missionary was was working with a particular tribe during the First World War. He was speaking with a member of the tribe about the grisly death toll and about how many people on his home continent had already been slaughtered.
The tribesman was confused, and asked the missionary how any army could hope to consume that much human flesh. When the missionary explained that in other parts of the world, it wasn't customary for soldiers to consume the bodies of enemies, the tribesman was livid.
"What kind of terrible people are you?" he asked the missionary, "That you would kill so many people for no good reason?"
