Anyone else pick up NEMESIS:THE IMPOSTORS #1? The one with the extreme close-up of a man with a bondage gag in his mouth?
I almost passed because of that cover and because the mini-series from last year with the was-it-real hidden spy city (or whatever the heck it was) left a bad taste in my mental mouth.
Unfortunately, the first half of the book is more of the same. But, then a corner is turned and a more recognizeable Nemesis kind of story unfolds. Y'know- one where the master of disguise acutally uses disguises and does stuff. And meets up with a certain pale-faced Gotham City villain amid life-and-death sort of happenings.
The last scenes made me want to see what happens next. I have no doubt that more of the Brother Eye crap's coming, too. If the latter outpaces the former, I'll be dropping, unless the miraculous happens and the writers make something interesting of the Brother Eye/Electric City crap.

I'll be buying Millar's comic--but although I like DC's Nemesis, this gets a hard pass from me. A new good DC series these days is rarer than a good filet mignon.

The second issue is an improvement over the first. Fans of Dick as Batman will want to check it out. He gets some respect. Those interested in what the post relationship relationship between Tom and Wonder Woman will look like should also pick it up.
