I just finished listening to it, and I like it. My favorite song is "ScheiBe," with "The Edge of Glory" and "Electric Chapel" close behind. At 17 (!) tracks, there are bound to be some songs that will grow on me over repeated listens and some that will never grow on me (the first two singles -- the title track and "Judas" -- are arguably the low points of the album), but that's pretty much how I felt about her first album, "The Fame," which had 14 tracks. The 8-track stopgap EP, "The Fame Monster", was all-killer-no-filler, and it had her best song, "Bad Romance", which she'll probably never top. But in the end, I'm still one of her little monsters.

I've been a bit slow on the uptake in regards to appreciating Lady Gaga. I managed to catch her recent HBO concert and enjoyed it. The theatrics were fun and I hadn't realized before that she has a pretty incredible vocal range. I'm not sure that I qualify as a monster, but I'm becoming a fan.

I'm not a huge fan of her music (though some songs are really brilliant like Bad Romance) but I do like her quite a bit. More so than ever after she essentially co-hosted snl with Justin Timberlake on Saturday and proved she has a great sense of humor.

For me, THE FAME was a stellar album and probably won't be topped... it was her being simple, honest and true before its massive success could have an impact on what she was doing.
You could already see/hear its enormous success affecting her on the FAME MONSTER ep.
"Born This Way" (the single) to me was an indulgent mess trying way too hard. Unless I hear a handful of REALLY good tracks off this cd, I will probably pass...
But I will always have THE FAME. I'll always be a fan of that period.

Excuse me but can you please direct me to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles?

I like Lada Gaga. I saw her briefly (she sang her first 3 hit songs) at Canada's Wonderland a few years ago. She puts on quite a nice show, and that was when she was just starting out. Based on what I've seen on TV she is quite a show topper now!

I'm kind of obsessed with "Judas" at the moment... haven't given the rest of the album much of a listen yet...

Okay. I had heard the "controversy" about born this way sounding like a Madonna song. Did not really care. I think Gaga is talented, but not really my thing. Heard her get all crabby about the comparisons and all that.
Well, today as we were driving to a event for the kids about an hour and a half away...the radio is on . Loud enough to hear, but I was concentrating on driving and not paying 100% attention. I hear a Madonna song going. Hear her normal syntho pop enhancedvoice bouncing through her ranges...sounded like Express Yourself. Not thinking anything of it until my wife says something about how she is riffing off Madonna now. I ask what she is atalking about, and she informs me that it is Gaga.
I swear to you...I thought it was a Madonna song. I'm not saying that she ripped her off, as there are hundreds of songs that have that same basic beat and syntho sound...but damn...it sure sounded like she was heavily paying tribute to her.
