Your sudden appearance is greeted with honor!

Usually Eryk D. Ester does the greeting, but he's not home right now.

Cool-looking costume in your profile! Is that a starfield, or is my screen dusty? And we all love cake here.

Like every great cat, FC comes to welcome you at the door. Just don't let her rub her fur all over you.

Welcome, SS! Happy posting!

Hey SS, welcome to Legion World! Kind of quite here this morning but you'll soon be running into plenty of fun, friendly, slightly wacky people. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know everyone. As Quislet would say "What fun!"

"Suddenly, Seymour,
Standing beside you!
You don't need no makeup,
Don't have to pretend!
Suddenly Seymour,
Is here to provide you,
With sweet understanding,
Seymour's your man!"

Welcome aboard, man!

Now I miss Howard Ashman, too.

Wow!

I've only been here a couple hours, and I've already got all these warm welcomes. Thanks!

Yup, FC, that's a starfield. I got the black body suit and a friend helped me put silver glitter pen dots all over it. That was an interesting experience.

Welcome. I've noticed that we are all misspelling your name - it's Seymor, right?

I delurked just two days ahead of you. Big warning - this place is addictive. I've already managed to blow off two days that I should have spent studying for an upcoming exam.

Like your outfit.

I don't mind -our. That's the proper way to spell it. The first board I used the name on had a character limit, so I had to take out the u. I've left it without the u because it's easier to remember if all my boards are the same when I log on.

I know! I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done this morning, and I spent all those hours posting and replying instead.

Thanks! That was Wizard World Chicago a few years ago. A big group of people showed up as postboot Legionnaires, but they let me hang out with them anyway. It was my first foray into costumed fandom.

And thanks for my avatar, LL!

You all look so hot.

BTW, I grew across the border from Port Huron, Michigan - on the Canadian side.

Thanks. We all walked into the con and to the DC booth together. We felt like the Beatles for a few moments. The guy who made the Gates costume, Leman, did almost all those other costumes. I think Apparation did hers and Mone'l's, if I remember correctly.

We did the Justice Society the next year and the JLA the year after that, and he did my costumes. I'm thinking I may try to do Color Kid sometime. It was such a simple, neat costume.

And hello to you fellow Michiganders (and past Michiganders). (I know Michiganian is the official term, but I voted for Michigander in the poll, and I'm sticking with it.)

Hey, I just realized that there are other people from Michigan. I need to pay better attention. Oh the joys of Michigan - beautiful water, Vernors and Better Made chips, and ten straight years of losing baseball.

And hey Semi Transparent Fellow, I grew up on the other side of the Blue Water bridge just outside of Port Huron! You must be from Sarnia.

Truly I am from Sarnia. I used to venture across the Bluewater Bridge as a kid to buy the Aurora superhero model kits because they weren't available in Canada.

Later, as a teenager, I went across the bridge one night to smoke dope for the very first time. We thought it was too risky to do it in Canada. In retrospect, what idiots we were - taking marijuana across the border. Oh, well, the times were different then.
I certainly don't do anything like that anymore.

Those costumes are quality stuff. How incredibly cool. The starfield outfit looks great.

It's back on? Man, I wish I could come see it. That and Bernadette Peters in "Gypsy."

We can call ourselves the Thumbstate Three and plot to take over the Legion! (Yean, I know Sarnia isn't in Michigan, but it's close enough.)

You must be from Sarnia.
We used to take the Boblo Boat from Sarnia when the showboats stopped running, just before the park closed completely. That was a sad day. [Frown]

I'm from Grand Rapids but wish I weren't.

Oops! That's right! Braalian's from Michigan (my cousin goes to college in Grand Rapids -- it looks nice enough when passing through on the way to Saugatuck or Up North), too. Sorry, Semi-Transparent, if we want to keep the name Thumbstate Three, you'll have to be our Canadian Cousin. Or we could just change to Fumbstate Four. [Smile]

Do I hear five?

Surely it's gotta be better than south Warren which is my current residence. Ever since 8 Mile, it seems like every kid around here wants to act like the next Eminem.

Sarnia's close enough. If you've ever been to Port Huron's mall, just check out all the license plates in the parking lot. Half of them are bound to be from Ontario.

*sniff* I miss Boblo. The ride there was always just as fun as the park itself. [Frown]
