hey guys going to post some micros similiar to Barry's latest version but with some alterations here and there. First up Element Lad...great costume but don't like the current colors. Think something like this may be better.

First one is a take of the Kitson's alternate costume sketches for Colossal Boy. I may like it better than the costume CB has. But it seems like more of a pain to draw month after month. Then I added some head gear. I don't know I felt CB may be missing something...I've always liked his head gear.

Here is a combination of the costumes. Added the belt from the alternate sketch to the current costume CB has. Took off his logo of growing cubes. Added some head gear.
I WILL find the right combination. The alternate sketch may look cooler but may not be as practical.

Jeckie looked really cool with the veil a couple issues ago. Reminded me of her most interesting days as Sensor Girl. Did a few combinations...but I think I may go with an old school black veil next cause it may look better than all of these.
A masked female will make her more interesting...and stand out. If she was "blind" as in her eyes covered it would really make her stand out.

Johnny Patches micro maker made this. It's Titan the Shiar Imperial Guard parallel to Colossal Boy. Looks alot like the CBs I made above. Probably was in the back of my mind.
I will look at Cockrum's Imperial Guard designs as well. They are basically alternate costumes for the Legion by the greatest comic costume designer ever.

Cham was tough. Barry's design is by far the best option. I tried black & white but the navy blue is better (blue being a compliment to orange). Wasn't very happy with these results. Back to drawing board it seems for me.

If Rond Vidar ever appeared in the current series I am hoping it is something like this. Tried to honor Giffen's old costume (which I love) but throw a similiar design to what Kitson is using. Also the glowing insignia almost a trademark of this Legion. Posted by candlelight on :
I love the glowing insignia on Rond. He's always been one of my favorite characters.
I like the headgear on CB, too.
The hood on Cham is great. It goes back to his race's origin look without being overwhelming. I especially like the middle costume with the addition of the end Cham's hood.

PS- I agree that Projectra is most effective with a mask, but I never liked the Sensor mask or outfit. I'd like something totally different, without the cape. Hmmmmm. Shady

Ouch that's ugly. A dud. I tried to make my own projectra...the former one I used a friend made it and I altered it. But I guess I had a hand cramp. Maybe Barry's Projectra is just fine. I would like a mask with no eye holes though. Ohwell back to drawing board.

My goal here is to do the micro versions of Kitson's Legion (and unused drafts). While I like his take on every member I think a small few can be improved upon. Atleast IMO
So far the only Kitson inspired costume I like better than the comic is Colossal Boy. The others I cannot improve upon.

Here is Kitson's Star Boy. I love it. The black costume with the star fields is my fave Star Boy costume. He added a cape and a bit of white in the upper chest. Perfect!
These two were for fun. The eighties costume I love so much.
And then Kitson's costume without a cape but keeping the white in the upper torso. I'm not a big fan of capes.

Again IMO this costume is perfect for Vi. I like the guns, I like the hair, the stripe down the middle of her body (small to big). Perfect!
The color scheme? eh. Not keen on the purple. In the first one I made the purple and green a tad darker than in the comic. The second one is just green with black.

I redid Element Lad. Put some more time and effort into it and voila!
As my initial post on this thread says. I just think the colors are off on Element Lad. Great costume but red and yellow? I like his old navy/green colors personally.
Also the cape? It fits. I'm not a fan of them but like Star Boy...it works. (Triplicate Girl on the hand) I did some without the cape. I know he's a spiritual guy but he looks too magical IMO with the cape.

These micros started years ago when someone developed a little cute template. They evolved into this.
LOVED the Rond depiction. I hope they will keep it in mind if they bring him back!

Wanted to do this one for some time now. In Barry's sketches this was his initial costume for the current Karate Kid. I like it slightly better than KK's actual costume. Well I am tired of waiting for Wildfire. I have no idea what Barry would make him look like. BUT I did go through some issues see if I saw a hint somewhere. In issue #13 part of Lemnos' army...that ended up joining Sun Boy...had a character that looked a tad like WF. So I used that as a model. (personally I think Sun Boy might be heading this other mysterious team...and wouldn't be suprised if WF was on that team).

Didn't turn out like I wanted. Tried to combine a few ideas here. First Quislet by Barry. I think if he did reappear he'd look like he's always looked like...a little flying ship.
Then he started looking like Ferro Lad. So imagine Quislet with the code name Ferro Lad to fit in with the silly names of the current Legion. A Quislet/Ferro Lad gestalt actually might work.
Also thought a serious looking robot with a crazy sense of humor would be...ironic. heh.
Finally it didn't look as cool as I thought. ohwell back to the drawing board.

I'm normally not the biggest fan of micros, but these are cool! Love the alterations on Kitson's designs (I am in full agreement about Triplicate Girl's cape. Fugly.)

Tried making them a tad shorter and skinnier. Ultra Boy is a stud so I kept him "pumped". Not sure if I like the skinny versions. Anyways I am going to stick with the skinny versions on most the guys anyways. I like my girls with curves though.
All three characters are using Barry's designs. Ultra Boy's gloves I may have tweaked. They look wierd in the comic with short rolled brown gloves and then some type of forearm pad. I can also live without Ultra Boy's boots (the jingling stuff) but atleast they are brown not red/green christmas special.
Recently reread the entire run. I have an itch to do some of the non-members like Agent Skelter, Terror Firma, etc.

Trying to get them as close to Barry's versions as possible. As for these costumes? I love them.
It's my favorite Ayla costume ever and Cosmic Boy maybe as well. Shadow Lass I love. I don't think I've ever disliked a Shady costume. This one has the black leather look...hot.

Here is Gim Allon Micro Lad/Colossal Boy. In the start of the thread I did do some alternatives that I liked more. Wish he would get headgear (ala Cockrum). I like the colors just wish for headgear. Not crazy about the insignia also. (or the new origin)
