Alright, I'm gonna try something pretty risky. I'm gonna try to write a fanfic, based mainly on Justice League, the Superman cartoon, and the comics. now, I'm trying to watch as much Justice League as I can, but since I havn't read the comics, I'll need your help. ok.

The story is about Brainiac 5 and Supergirl's daughter. When she realizes she has all the powers of her mom (plus a 10th level intelligiance) she wants to become a superhero, like her parents. Of course, they refuse to let her work alone, so she forms a new team, (considering the name Legion of Superkids) made up of the kids of the other Legionaires.

But, to get kids, we need parents. So, I tried to come up with the most realistic (or most wanted) pairings. Here's the first list. Please leave comments and concerns.

Phantom Girl/Ultra Boy
Light(ning) Lass/Star Boy (opposites attract)
Shrinking Violet/Colossal Boy (same ^)
Duo Damsel/Invisible Kid
Saturn Girl/Lightning Lad (perfect couple)

that's all I got so far. but here's a list of possible kids.

Apparition - (keeping the name) Cub Nah of Rimbor (phantom girl's power and ultra boy's x-ray vision and flight)

Rune - Amber Kallor(combination of Light Lass's and Star Boy's powers alow her to be telekinetic)

Trace - Joseph(Josh) Allon(can change size from sub-atomic to giant)

Repli"Kate" - Kate Durgo of Cargg; twin sister of Kent Durgo(can split into two identical selves and turn invisible; prefers her duplicate power over the invisible power)

Va"Kent" - Kent Durgo of Cargg; twin brother or Kate Durgo(can split into two identical selves and turn invisible; prefers his invisible power over the power to duplicate)

Dynamic - Lucy Ranzz (combination of parents powers except her "thought blasts" use electricity as well)

Ace - Jennifer Dox of Earth (all of her mother's powers and a tenth level intelligiance)

I kept thought blasts from the show and just as a note, Duo Damsel (yes I fixed it) and Invisible Kid never had a real "relationship". there had been a Legion reunion party thing and...let's just say, they both had a few too many drinks. (just basic ideas here) all the ones without names, that's because I can't think of one. (Dynamic, Trace, etc.) if you can think of one, tell me. they can be alianish type or human/present day-ish although I would prefer alianish.

CcGirl, you may find some additional inspiration here: Children of Legionnaires. It's always fun to speculate on what combination of powers could be passed down to the kids - as well as the parents' pairings.

It's interesting that your two "opposites" couples also have opposite personalities - fairly aggressive females with two of the Legion's nice guys.

Copycat Girl,

I assume that you aren't that familar with the comic history of the Legion. The historical pairings have included:

Light Lass & Timber Wolf
Shrinking Violet and Duplicate Boy (He of the heroes of Lallor and could duplicate any other super power)

Princess Projectra and Karate Kid

You got Phantom Girl and Ultra Boy. Also Apparition was a former code name for Phantom Girl

Star Boy and Dream Girl (she had dreams of the future)

Lightning Lass was also paired for a while with Shrinking Violet. As mentioned in the Link Fat cramer provided, in the future, they could have bio-engineered a child together. A little Spark you might say. (Spark being a former code name for Lightning Lass)

You are familar with Validus from the cartoon. In the comics Validus was not only big and strong, but shot mental lightning. His origin was unknown. A reader once wrote in that a child of Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad would also have mental lightning.

From the comics Bouncing Boy was married to Triplicate Girl (although at the time one of her bodies had been killed and she was Duo Damsel)

Well, Copycat's in middle school if I remember correctly. I'm vaguely familiar since I've done research (I'm only 15...) but I hadn't known most of the stuff.
I knew about Lightning Lad&Saturn Girl, and I knew about Bouncing Boy&Triplicate Girl (even though she was Duo Damsel at the time).

ok. I'm REALLY trying to take all this in but you have to admit, there's just TOO much information. So, I'll try and edit as much of this will factual information if it fits the story, but this is a fan FICTION. plus, I don't want to make the Legion of Superkids as big, just because it's hard enough for me to come up with names and powers for the basic six. (seven counting Ace/Jenny) I'll update the above post.

yah I know, I did that on purpose. He's real close to his mom and took on her former name because of that.

I was at school, totally bored, so I decided to draw. I ended up with a profile sketch of Rune/Amber. so, of course I had to sketch a costume for her too. then I started drawing costumes for all the others. well, I decided to do a quickie of them in paint but I've only got two so far (Rune's and Cub's) and Cub's was alot simpler so I did his first. here's a REAL basic costume design for him based off of his parents costumes. -
yes it's fat and blocky and has the worst feet and hands you ever saw but you get the idea.

then we have Rune. need to fix the colors of her costume but I can't find the right color scheme. it has to go with her red hair and amber eyes and still fit her skin tone as well. (yes the brownish spaces on the costume is skin)

Nifty...looks a little like Sun Boy's costume

only because of the color and the star thing on her chest. and that's only because all of them decided to base some part of their costume off of their parents. some more than others, like Cub whose costume is entirely formed from his parents costumes. here's Kent's and Kate's now.

I just realised that that's the wrong name but this is just showing the costumes so you get the idea. this is
Kate Durgo a.k.a. Dupli"Kate"

"Dupli-Kate"... Oh, the pun, it hurts my soul.

It's interesting to see you're investing so much effort into this fic as to actually design costumes for the kids, but I hope you don't run too far away with the concept of all these orignal characters from your original source. The excuse "it's supposed to be FAN FICTION" has been employed too many times, in my experience, in order to justify some truly awful stories. No one expects you to know everything about Legion comic history off the top of your hat (goodness knows I still don't), but there's a lot of sources that're right here in this forum (be it some of the more long-standing members or the FAQ threads) that're all here to help.

That said, I look forward to seeing that your interpretation of the next generation to be; hopefully we'll see a bit of chemistry (martial bliss or otherwise) between the adult Legionnaires? [Wink]

Edit: By the way, shouldn't the K's on their uniforms be written in Interlac?

I promise I will try to keep it factual. I hate it when I read a fanfic and it seems like they read a 2 sentance summery for the show/book/comic/etc. and wrote the story. I'm even keeping in Invisible Kid's relationship with Brainiac 5. and yes I will try and make it in Interlac.

I think you should mix things up and put together whichever combination of parents you want.

I hope the kids all have lots of differing personalities and physical traits.

Keep it superfun!

Posted by Copycat Girl on :

yah they do. I made sure not to have any two of them have the same physical or character traits. except for the twins of course. and even they have completely different personalities. Kate has more of a bubbly personality and Kent is a bit of a loner.
well, here's Trace's and Dynamic/Jupiter's costumes.

CG-

It sounds like you've got some great ideas! I can't wait to see you run with it.

I'm at a bit of a writer's block now because I read a fan fic similar to this but about the Justice League. although the writing style was disgusting and slang, chat speak, and spelling errors were littered throughout it, the plot line was great and everytime I try to write, that plot comes to mind and I just hate copying other people's plots or ideas. (it's happened to me once before. by my own sister too!) I'm trying though. I'll break through sometime.
