So a fresh thread for a fresh look.

I have been microing for a while, and here is some of my latest stuff...I'll try to post on relevant stuff.

Ok, so I know I took a long time and I didn't even make all the ones I sketched out...but here are some micros of some LWers.


Abin Quank (I designed it with green only in mind, but I know he usually has Sentinel colors, so...yeah)


Everyday Girl (I guess she wears purple and black, I really like this hair, I think it suits her)


Pagan Lass (I am a bit obsessed with microing her...I hate the first one now, too piratesque for me, the second one is supposed to be ceremonial wear, the third is a table dancer outfit and the fourth is my favorite, I felt like I finally got a look worth microing, and that little cat but buckle was really neat, because I thought it wouldn't work)


Space Ranger (why did I make him so big??? He took so long shade, but I wanted a beefy looking stud, I think I got it)


Stealth (very simple design, I hope that hair comes off as wavy as I hoped it would)

Cobalt Kid (for some reason, I felt inspire by Magneto and Cosmic King...I think that's the reason for some of the details in this micro, I love how it came out, I think he looks handsome and kind of carefree)


Caliente (I like this one, simple but chic, wild yet tame)


Frio (this one was a pain, hahaha, that blue streak was not coming out right, I finally had to settle, hope it looks ok)


Spellbinder (first one was a simple design I got from her avatar, the second one was a remake of this horrible micro I made a long time ago of her...I like the Emma Frost hair on her)


Mllash (first one is off of Matter Eater Lad's colors and second was for fun because I saw those pics of him in a towel)


Eryk Davis Ester (this was my favorite design, I think it's really chic, the hat scares me...so I posted one without a hat incase it doesn't come off right)


The Weird Sister *Phoebe, Seline and Luna* (basically a remake because the old ones weren't very good, making that skirt was hard for me and I am really proud of it)

The Pagan Lass Micro's are amazing! I love all four but the Table Dancer outfit is particularly stunning!

The two Abin's are fantastic and the Everyday Girl's are wonderful...

But you saved the best for last! You have created the definitive Space Ranger!

I love the one you did of me. My hair looks great, better than it ever does in real life. Thank you, Luna.

But my favorite is Crystal in the bomber jacket. Could you please do a Sersi in the red-and-black costume and bomber jacket and headband and longer hair?

I love, love, love the Cobalt Kid one! I think you're changes to the costume bring in a sense of his being subtly dangerous, something I've been trying to get across myself. And you make him look very handsome and carefree like you say, and also ready for a good scrap. I love it!

They all came out really good. Love the Eryk design, love Cali & Frio, and really love them all. Most of all, I really have to second Abin's thoughts: you've created the definitive version of Space Ranger, at long last! I've always had this vague look for him in my head I could never put into words, and your depiction of him just fits so well with what Abin has established over the years.

I hope you keep these going! You're really talented!

First of all, thanks, comments are so gracious and sweet of all of you, I appreciate them more than you.

Stealth, thanks, but I hate canon. I hardly ever do canon...actually that is probably the extent of all my canon work, so I am not saying never, but not likely. Joffre Rhoda (there is a link on White Raven's site) has done some amazing micros of Sersi.

Cobalt Kid, thank you, I love that design for you, as for Space Ranger, I am glad that he is well recieved, especially being that he drove me crazy.

Kent, shades would be a great addition, was thinking about it, then got lazy , thanks.

Fat Cramer, thank you, I love that micro of Everyday Girl, the flower belt is my favorite part.

Loser, so this was a really neat comment, the whole one door closes another opens thing popped into my head. If I never left LW, I never would have joined other boards and have other people tell me I was crap for me to grow just to prove them wrong. I am glad that I am back and that I can create micros that are more worthy of this board.

I especially love the gal with the wings, makes me miss Greybird.

Pagan is glam for sure and Eryk is perfect, with or without the hat, although the one with the hat is my favorite.

When I look at your micro heroes, I kind of feel like... the style... it kind of gives a steampunk sense. Well, not completely steampunk, but as if they come from the same time as the movies "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and "Return to Oz".

Doug Wheatley might be a natural for illustrating characters based on your micros.

Really? That's great. That was the hardest one to do in the set. That is how I always imagined her. I couldn't get the look to come out, but after trying for a few hours I got that and I am very happy with it.

Well, I have been working hard and got a few done:

1st is LegionWorld's own Saturn Girl. Went with a loose top and fitted mini-skirt because I thought it looked sexy, fun and active. Which I think every LW Founder needs to fight evil:


Lightning Lad:
I saw Sketch Lad's picture of him on his Portrait Thread and came up with this. I learned that lightning is hard for me to do. It's why the edging may not look great. But I am overall happy with it. It's a bit pirate-rocker, but that is never a bad thing in my book:

Ohhhhhhhhhh...I had made these micros for deddy a while back and they stunk. So I am hoping this one will make up for it. I rather like it, a bit of a change in his design, but I think it still speaks, "Dedman." The cape is tattered and torn, so I made sure the bling was all polished:

Well, this one was inspired by Madame Leota, I always thought when she had a body she wore a dress like this. This micro sat around without hair for months...how lazy of me.

Ok, so here are some new micros.

KinetixgreenZoe:
This is how I always imagined I looked as KGZ, this micro can be found in my Revealing Shades story.


Red Arrow:
This design just popped in my head and here it is, I tried to put in the Soul Gem.


Lard Lad:
I tried really hard to come up with some designs, I did about 7 or so sketches, but these were the ones that I liked the most. The first one is Lard Lad (still empowered), the second one is Chief Lardy, he's a bit more demeanor and stern, the third one is Chief Lardy in his armor. I have never done armor before, I thought this micro would break me, glad it didn't, even got it done in one sitting. I incorporated a shield emblem on the chest in all of them (the third as a power core) because he is a Lard Knight and shields remind me of knights.

Time for an update.

DivineOpalJanell-

I do love this one, I used a White Witch avatar with her, so it's nice to finally have something that looks like she did in my head. My favorite thing on her are the little pink flowers on her chest.



Sketch Lad-

There is a rainbow light on the chest, not what I wanted at first, I wanted to do something like...remember Jubilee's power from the 1992 X-Men cartoon, something like that, but I wasn't able to pull it off. But the rainbow looks cool, too. This is one of my favorites, I really like how it turned out.



Kent Shakespeare-
Well, it's been what? One or two years since I talked with Kent about what his micro should look like. Sorry for making you wait so long. I used a bigger frame from Kent. Those are suppose to be strips of metal on his jacket's shoulders, I figured they would be small compartments.



Dev Em-
Dev had quite a few sketches before I got one I liked. Very simple, but I think it's chic. The second one is suppose to look like as if it had kevlar padding of something like that on it, which I did after the Red Bee incident. The skin color is not as orange as a normal Durlan's, but still more orange than a Caucasian. (Unless you're on Jersey Shore) The ears come to a point, but not again, as dramatic, I really wanted to incorporate that he's a hybrid of sorts.



Tempest-
I felt that I needed a uniform for my involvement in the LMBP and quit using my good clothes, so this is what I came up with. I did the robe for length, but there is a slit all the way up the middle, so she could walk and run it. Hair took me three days...

Titania:
A really good micro, never posted it anywhere, glad I could use it in Revealing Shades.


Madame Leota:
A bit more storyline for her to come in the future.


Theresa (Tempest):
A shriveled up version of me, I worked really hard on the body for this, I love how the face came out.


Timber Wolf:
The full body version is his Ops version and the one with the hand and arm cut outs is his more Legion friendly look. I tried to micro two knife hilts on the side of the belt. Went with clawed hands instead of closed fists.


Lolita:
Tried to make her look sexy and intellectual, seeing as her powers are analytical in nature (correct?)...had a design for her, started it, hated it, then I made this...I like it.

I based this look while looking at Kid Eternity and Dream Girl. I really like the slight blue hair look, but also did white/silver.


Power Boy:
I designed this about six or seven weeks ago. I originally thought of him in black and red, but did white when I saw Sketch Lad's drawing. Um, the armor around the boots and arms reminds me of Apokilips so there's that and the chest piece is all glowy with his POWER!!! And the ropes were inspired by Power Girl.

I took what Lardy said about Kalla and came up with this, there is a little lace cape in the back if you can see it.


Mala:

I really wanted her to look like an aging beauty, like she is trying to hold on to her looks. Her hair is fading, she's got lines on her face...I even sagged her breasts but you can't tell that well with coin corset. I did a micro of Dru, you should see some similarities between the design.


Shark Lad:

Ohhh, what a big fella, so big, I can't make a cool shark face and there wasn't even a decent fin in the micro community to reference, so I did my best, hope you like it!

I never answered this, I feel so bad.

Micros, are all someone's work. So it's up to them to let you use them, you really shouldn't steal, so while someone may have made something...you have to ask the creator first. Except for hair, hair is hard, people take hair and never credit. Microheroes International Board has tons of useful stuff.

I like to make the majority of my micro from a template that I alter to suit my needs and use nothing from anyone else, so that way the work is 100% mine. And bigger teeth could be done, I also say it's best figure out how to make them on your own. That way it's yours.

Reading the novella and while I haven't finished yet, I did finish this.

It's Romaltus. Well, my design for him, it's to compliment my Mala micro. I wanted to give him a warlord/wizard look. Primal and rather worn, but elegant. Probably not what others imagined him to be, but I did design this when I did Mala, which was a long time ago. The fangs on the armor didn't come out as crisp as I would have liked. Also added the eye last minute to the chest...I like it and the I don't cause orange is hard to shade.

Nice. Very impressive to see them all displayed like that (I wouldn't want to go up against that team. )

I really dig your incredible attention to detail - little things like Crujectra's amulet, or Emily's soul gem; the differences in height, like making Ibby shorter than Dev to reflect his age, or making Ex so tiny (perfect!); the absolutely beautiful shades you used for hair - Sketchy and Fanfic are my favorites; and the just astounding level of ornamentation on the villains.

It really amazes me what you've done at so small a scale.

I don't know if you remember this, but 'way back when I first joined, you were the first person to call me "Rocky". Just in case you didn't know.

Here it is! I was called RHL and RhL a lot for the first year or so, but Tempest called me Rocky when I was on LW for less than a week.
