So, was the Liefeld issue so bad they had to give us six weeks between issues to recover? I thought the next issue was due this week but according to DC, #28 won't be out until October 12.

Maybe by then I could have #27 read.

Perhaps they're hiring a better inker to improve Liefeld's second issue. After seeing Gina's most excellent inking on that first Liefeld issue, I guess it's too much to hope that they'd hire her.

She really cleaned up his lines. [Smile]

I've read #27, and if I were you Scott I'd just go ahead and wait for the Book on Tape version...

[ROTFLMAO]

Thanks for thinking of my eyes Lou. I kinda need them for my job. [Smile]

Liefeld never met a deadline he could keep. Awfulness takes time... [Razz] [Disgusting] [Wink]

I think after reading issue 27, I can wait. Hey, they can even postpone it a couple MORE weeks, that's okay!

But you were all excited for the potential awfulness of Liefeld's visit to TitanTown! Don't tell me it exceeded your expectations??? [LOL]

The art gave me some giggles and was everything I expected it to be*. It was Gail Simone's story I was most disappointed in.

*Lotsa splash pages, awkward bodies, lotsa teeth, big boobs

She doesn't seem to do too well with these guest arcs; her Legion issues were lacking, also... [Frown]

Or maybe it's just writing DOWN for Rob... [Wink]

Yeah I couldn't get into it. It just seemed like one of those bad 90's comics. [Frown]

The only other thing I recall reading of Liefeld's was his Hawk and Dove mini back in like 1990 or so, and I seem to remember liking the art in that. Did he really get that much worse over the past 15 years, or was I just young and dumb back then?

Posted by Pov on :

Nope. That miniseries was saved by the inker, Karl Kesel. He added little things like anatomy and perspective to Liefeld's even-then-horrid "artwork". [No]

Ah. That explains it. So does that mean I wasn't young and dumb then? [Smile]

Not about -that-, anyway. [tease] [Wink]
