As some of you may know, I've spent the last two years writing a Young Adult novel about teenagers with super-powers (gee, sounds familiar!).

Well, my novel, THE POWER CLUB, has just been published on Amazon Kindle.

Here's what it's about:

quote:
Damon looks like an ordinary kid . . . but he lives in the district.

He wants to make friends . . . but he lives in the district.

He lives in the district because he has a power, and the district has rules about using powers.

Where in the district can a kid learn to use his powers? In a Power Club. All Damon has to do is join a club . . . if they think his power is good enough!

But getting into the club is only the start. Becoming a hero is altogether different.

THE POWER CLUB would make a great stocking stuffer (do they do that anymore?) for the holidays!

So, check it out! You can read the first few chapters as a preview. If you like what you see, you can download it for only $2.99 or borrow it for free if you're a member of Amazon Prime. Be sure to leave a review. (The more reviews, the higher the book ranks on Amazon.)

...first rule of Power Club is: you do not talk about Power Club.

Seriously though, congrats! I'm going to give it a read! [Big Grin]

Congrats! I'll get it - but I wonder what defines a book as "young adult"? Vocabulary? Sex (or absence thereof)? Age of characters?

Well, I think you stuff the stocking with the Kindle. Either that, or it's a virtual stocking. [Big Grin]

As I understand it, the formats its available in are iPad, iPhone, Kindle, Kindle Fire, and Kindle Fire HD. I don't know enough about Nook to know if you can get it there or not.

But as I learn more about what the heck I'm doing, I'll make it available in other formats, too.

Young Adult is usually defined as appealing to readers from 12-18, but my experience (and the intent behind this book) is that such books usually appeal to older readers, as well.

I really enjoyed it and owe you a review.

Surely there will be a sequel?

[Hmmm?]

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

I've made it about 15 chapters, Greg. I'm enjoying the story. It reads lean and tight, just right for the age you are trying going for.

Fifteen chapters? Wait until you get to Chapter 16 . . .

[Wink]

I finished it, Greg. Lots of fun. Ended on a high note, and the epilogue set up something good. Hope to see more of it. Good work.
