How hard is it to maintain a little continuity (art-wise) within the current books and with the 'original' Legion that this was advertised as being 'the return of'?
Dream Girl is a plantinum blond. Not a dirty blond or yellow-gold blond...a plantinum blond. It goes with her plantinum costume, lip-stick and nail polish. It is iconic for her character and if it is going to change then there needs to be an explaination on-pannel for it. Otherwise it needs to be colored correctly in every issue and not just when the artist/colorist/editor feels like doing their job right.
Dr. Gym'll had four arms pre-crisis, 3 arms in the first (full) reboot. I really don't care how many arms his people have or if there are a subset that have a different number of arms like humans have different skintones... but pick a number for the character and stick with it!
Tellus was always portrayed as looking less humanoid than he currently is being drawn and he never used his leggs for standing or walking. Now he has more human looking arms and has been depicted as standing on his leggs more than once. If the artist is unfamiliar with how the character is supposed to look then get them a couple of refference sheet or even a good model to use.
If these are simple mistakes due to not being familiar with the characters then it is the editor's job to correct the errors so they do not occur again. If the artists are just too lazy to put the time and effort into doing the job right then it is the editor's job to replace them with some one that will do the job right. Same if the artist is merely incapable of doing the job then, again it is the Editor's job to replace them with some on that can. If the Editor can not do the job right and stop the errors from occuring in nearly every issue then it is time for the company to fire the Editor and get some one that can do the job.
So again, I say:
How hard is it to maintain a little continuity art-wise within the current books and with the 'original' Legion that this was advertised as being 'the return of'?
