I'm bored and have been surfing the BBC Buffy site and it got me wanting to do some Buffy trvia. I know I'm not the only Buffy geek hereabouts so this could work.
Righty-ho then, I'll start. Could either be a dead easy question or a hard one, hard to say really, but:
Name the six characters (not actors) who have appeared in all seven seasons of Buffy. For a bonus point name at two who have appeared in six out of the seven series. (there might be more than two and I can certainly think of two more who have been in five series, but I'd need to double check)

Actually SoM is right. I specified the character and while Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles and Joyce have all been played by the same person Amy was a rat in seasons four and five but still appeared. OK so it was a trick question.
And Spike, Angel and Jonothan are the ones who have appeared in six out of the seven seasons. Anya has been in five seasons and I think possibly Dru and Harmony have as well.

Season five. He had cameos in 1, 2 and 3, Superstar in 4 and was part of the Troika (natch) in 6 and 7. I did think he was in all seven but he's not got any appearances in 5.

he was actually in Welcome To The Hellmouth as well but although he was credited at the end he wasn't credited as Jonothan, just 'boy' or something. Danny Strong actually auditioned for the part of Xander but didn't get it. Could have been a very different series.

I just looked up Danny Strong's filmography on IMDB and he's actually credited with appearing in season 1, the 'unaired' pilot. His next appearance is Inca Mummy Girl (listed on IMDB as episode 4 of season 2).
So he is listed as being in seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. No appearances in 5. My list claiming to be season 5 is apparantly in actuality season 2 shows. I'll go and burn that list now. Posted by Bevis on :

Matthew is right that Giles sings Freebird in The Yoko Factor but the cafe scene is from Where The Wild Things Are, and there he's singing Behind Blue Eyes. The song from Restless is The Exposition Song written by Joss Whedon.
As for the regulars who died Drake was closest but Frog Kid got two as well. Buffy died at the Master's hands (although she died inderectly by his drowning her rather than biting her). Spike and Angel both died by being bitten, by Dru and Darla respectivly, and th other three are all in the Wish. Willow and Xander are both vamped, although I don't think we know who actually killed them, and the one no-one mentioned was Cordelia who was killed by Vamp Willow and Vamp Xander.
By the way Anya was actually killed by a bringer not an ubervamp so she doesn't count and Jenny Calendar was never a regular in terms of the credits.

it was the theme music to the UK tv series ..... "Jonathon Creek" which featured Anthony Head in one of the episodes !!!

Yup, you're right. Do you know specifically what the music is though? Your question though Matt because even though really I was looking for the title of the music you actually got the other part of the question spot on. Anthony Head was in the first episode by the way and was supposed to be a main character because he filmed it after the first series of Buffy finished and they weren't sure it was going to be picked up. When it was though Head left Jonothan Creek.

Ooh, you've got me there. I know in The Harvest it's implied the Spanish settled in Sunnydale (or Bocca del Inferno) some time in the 1700s. Big Bad is right though that the Mayor also says that he founded the town 100 years ago which would make it some time in the late to mid 1800s. I have no idea what the town motto is but I can vaguely recall seeing it somewhere, Damn, I'm gonna have to go look that up now.

Its the only image I could find as I don't have either Watcher's books. But it does bring up a good question. What is considered to be correct? The sign that was seen maybe in full view once or the history given within the series itself. Namely the Graduation Day episode.
Specifically, it was during the mayor's graduation speech to the Class of 1999 that he said: "Well. What a day this is! A special day. Today is our centennial, the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Sunnydale...".
But I will bow to the majority. If you want to keep the question open to see if someone comes up with the date you were looking for, that's all fine with me.

in the pilot episode Angel had never met Buffy before, but in season 2 it was established that he watched her at her previous high school !!
so the actual date might be different in particular episodes !! as i've said earlier, i've taken it from a production still .... there's nothing to say that is the "true" date ??

I think it's fair enough for you to have the next question. You got the motto right and the exact date of the founding of Sunnydale has been made a bit muddy by various episodes. Like I mentioned at various points in the series it's been said that Sunnydale was founded by the Spanish in the 1700s but that so doesn't tie in with the Mayor founding it 100 years ago. Unless of course there was a settlement in the area but The Mayor founded the actual town, if you see what I mean.
But then again Mayor Wilkins also said at one point that he's always been aware of everything going on in Sunnydale and won't let anything stop his plans for Ascension, which begs the question as to whether he knew about Angelus and The Master and Spike and Dru and their plans for bringing the world to the end and if so was he going to stop them if Buffy didn't or what? It's a problem with a long running show like Buffy in that it's very easy for them to end up contradicting their own continuity. Spike says for example in season 6 that he dug his way out his grave like Buffy did, only in Season 7 we see that his mother didn't even know he'd died so surely he didn't have a proper burial and so didn't actually dig himself out.
Those are just little blips I guess though and it's to be expected. Doesn't make Buffy any less faaaaabulous.

In Becoming, Part 2, he asked for a hug and in one of the Christmas episodes he wore a Santa hat with jingle bells playing (just the bells, not the song) in the background.

Erm... I think if I remember correctly when she first meets Buffy she's still wearing the clothes she's nicked from the woman in the hospital. This is entirely from memory but i think it was dark sweatpants, a white t-shirt and a red coat with a hood. Actually now I say that I'm not sure that she's hasn't already got changed by the time she confronts Buffy on campus which I think means she's in her leather trousers by then.
Now I know what she's wearing at the end of the episode; it's Buffy's body. And the last thing she says there is 'Five by five'. What she says to Buffy though in their first scene together I can't remember. I'd have to go back and watch the episode.

That is a good scene. I particularly like the way that Faith completely brushes off Willow as well. Bad continuity error though when Faith jumps over the wall. Before she jumps it's clearly been raining and the ground is wet. When Buffy looks over the wall after her the ground on the other side is perfectly dry. Sheesh, I'm way too much of a Buffy geek if I remember that little bit of useless info...

Yup, that's the one. More specifically, she first appeared, as Chantrelle, in "Lie to Me". Later, she appeared in LA, as both Lily and Anne, on "Anne". Later, on Angel 's second season, she appeared as the manager of the youth center on the episodes "Blood Money" and "The Thin Dead Line".

Willow drove Faith into town. I assume she has a license. Xander, too, despite the eye problem. Giles should be legal. Don't think Dawn got her license yet. And Buffy never got her license; she was illegal in "Him". Did you see the way she drove?

Ah, ooh, Giles *can't* drive as of series 7 because he hasn't renewed his licence I don't think we've ever seen Xander or Willow pass their tests, or had actual confirmation that they have, but we can pretty much assume they have for the reasons that SeaPea stated. Hmm, now Buffy. I'm not sure if she can or not. She's certainly a terrible driver, the few times we've seen her dirve, and she was taking driving ed or whatever when she was at school. But then I think she was driving in series four so I'm going to go with her now being a legal driver too (just not a very good one).

Harmony (played by Mercedes McNab) is indeed the right answer, closely followed by Cordelia.
Angel wasn't actually in the pilot but he's the only character that has been a regular (ie: in the credits) cast member through the whole time of Buffy/Angel. Also in the pilot Willow was played by a diferent actress but Danny Strong made an apperance too.

I don't think the pilot has actually ever been screened. IIRC the plot is very similar to Welcome to The Hellmouth except with no Angel and a different Willow. Darla is certainly in it. There's a brief description in the unofficial guide that I've got. If I remember when I get home I'll check what actually went on in it.

Yeah, it's incomplete, but not in the way you think. It's missing all of the characters who have said to be from Sunnydale high, but didn't appear until after Graduation Day (such as Warren, who also graduated, but who made his first appearance on Season 5). Maybe I should have made the question clearer?
Still, you got all of the characters who we did see in Seasons 1-3. BTW, the jock's name is Percy.

I don't think Devon ever went to Sunnydale, coz we usually saw him drop people off in his van or whatever and never actually in the school, so I always assumed he wasn't. Plus Cordelia expressed an interest in dating him, so if he was at school I'd have assumed she'd have done that already.
Andrew's brother was the guy who trained those evil doggies to wreck the prom right? So it's a bit bizarre but I seem to recall the Scoobies knowing his brother but not him, and I don't think he ever said "I used to go to Sunnydale High." How much younger than Buffy and Willow is he supposed to be? Maybe he went somewhere else? The school was obliterated between series 3-7 wasn't it?
As for that vamped guy - wasn't the joke supposed to be that he knew who Buffy was but she had never heard of him?

Actually, despite the fact that nobody remembers them, both Andrew and Holden (vampire from CWDP) were from Sunnydale high. Andrew has mentioned summoning flying monkeys to crash a school talent show (or play, I can't remember), and I Holden was telling the truth about meeting Buffy at the school, even if she doesn't remember.
Also, although irrelevant, Cordelia actually did date Devon for a while. Still, I think you're right about him not being a Sunnydale student.
Anyways, you've got most of them, but there's still one missing. Hint: he appeared only once, in Season 7.

Right, just so I can prove my geek status there are two possible answers that I've come up with. The first time the mask activates and raises the dead cat it's just after 11.34, according to Buffy's clock radio. Then the night of the party when it raises all the zombies (why did it only raise a cat the first time and then hoards of zombies the next night?) the guy who dies of burns in hospital and instantly comes back is 'called' at 7.43. There was at least one other resurection before then so the mask actually must have activated a little earlier tthan that (unless of course the two ressurections we see and theparty and the mask glowing actyually are all happening at the same time).

I'm not sure if this counts as actually killing a vampire, but in the second half of the first story, Zander is confronting Vampire Jesse at the Bronze and is holding a stake over his heart. A girl rushing to get out bumps Jesse onto the stake.

Ah, I think you're probably right SoM. Oz's first appearance was certainly in Inca Mummy Girl which has the scene where Oz asks Devon who Willow is but I think Cordy does speak to him first a couple of scenes before hand.
As for Devon and the Scoobies I'm pretty sure he talks with Willow at a couple of points as well but I don't think he really speaks to anyone else.

The episode I was thinking of was the Halloween episode. Cordy does lay into Oz about Devon. Then Oz bumps into Willow.
I was assuming that this is Oz's first speaking appearance.

Nuh-uh, Inca Mummy Girl is before Halloween. That's Oz's first appearance, and the first time he sees Willow. I think he only has two lines but one of them is 'who is that girl?', the line he repeats in Halloween when he sees Willow as a ghost and when he bumps into her in another episode. So does that make the next question mine?

I'd not heard about the Kendra/Cordelia thing, but Charisma Carpenter certainly played Cordy in the pilot. The only major character played by someone else was Willow (not sure what the name of the actress that played her was). Plus Angel wasn't in it at all (although Darla was).

Janna Calderash (not sure of the spelling though). As to why she changed it... erm... was it to sound more American? I'm pretty sure she changed her surname so that Angel wouldn't connect her with the gypsies who cursed him but I'm not sure why she changed her first name.

Been shot? Right, Buffy (by Warren) Tara (also by Warren) Angel (by Darla with a gun and by Faith with an arrow) Wesley (by a zombie cop in Angel)
erm... surely that can't be all can it? I'm pretty sure Willow, Xander and Giles haven't been. Don't think Cordy has either. Oooh, Oz was. Not by a bullet but by a tranquiliser dart so i guess that counts. In fact I'm pretty sure Giles was shot with same said tranquiliser gun so he counts. Spike was shot with a tracking device by the Initiative. I don't recall Riley or Anya getting shot though. The whole shot with both bullet and arrow though makes me think someone else has been shot with an arrow. Probably a cross bow bolt.
Anyway, the ones that i *know* have been shot are:
Buffy Angel Oz Tara Spike Wesley and I think Giles.
I missing at least one person aren't I?

It was Buffy wasn't it? Willow and Tara were Anya's bridesmaids (as I think possibly was Dawn). Giles wasn't there, Spike was just a guest and I'm pretty certain it wasn't one of his family, which only leaves Buffy. And she does all the entertaining of the crowd while Xander is missing so I think I'm right in saying it's Buffy.

Weird, I was just gonna ask that for the next question, it's from the poem he writes about Cecily. It's as been referenced in a couple of episodes, including when Spike was crazy. He said "I needed a word that means glowing, it has to rhyme", I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact quote. He also recented the poem in the last ep of Angel.

Mark Metcalf, who played the Master in Buffy, was also in Animal House. I would say that and the Donald Sutherland link were probably the two being looked for (unless there were others as well).

Neidermeyer was the Master? I never made that connection. Don't think I ever paid any attention to the actor's name in the Buffy credits and the make-up did a good job at hiding his face.

Yep, indeed he was (kinda old for a student, but never mind). I was being quite harsh by not giving it to Drake since he got the episode right, but you got the role right SoM. Ermm.... I dunno, in the past when two people have sort of shared the answer it's usually the person with the larger part right that gets the next question. I think that's the lot. I don't think Andrew was ever called by his full name, but Tucker was so you can assume they've got the same surname. Technically as well Buffy's first name should be Elizabeth since that's what Buffy is a short version of, but 'Buffy' appeared on her grave, so...

It was never given as anything other than Buffy in the show (even on things like class lists when she was at school/uni) but it's like Peg being a short version of Margaret (never worked that one out myself).

Yup, just a little bit of that. Plus there's a bit right at the start where she smashes the skull or something and then it cuts to the others and you hear multiple strikes of the hammer only then when it cuts back to Buffy there are virtually no smashed bones so she must have been a *really* bad aim. I think that's the ones. I do know that in 'Welcome To The Hellmouth' on the original print there was a voiceover that mentioned Lucy Hanover and an un-named slayer in Chicago and I've heard something about you actually seeing them on screen as well but since that version has never been seen outside the US I can't be sure. ok, Buffy's birthday. In 'I Robot, You Jane' it's given as both 24 October 1980 and 6 May 1979, in 'Nightmares' (and 'The Gift') her gravestone doesn't give a precise day but lists the year of birth as 1981, and in 'Doomed' she says she is "Capricorn, on the cusp of Aquarius" which means her birth date is somewhere between 17 and 20 January 1981 (which fits with when the birthday episodes were actually aired). So Buffy is anywhere between 23 and 25, depending on when she was actually telling the truth.

Mentioned but not seen? oooh. Well I think in the first episode it mentioned two in the intro but we only saw one of them. One certainly remained un-named but I can't think what the other one was called. i think India Cohen, Buffy's predecessor, was mentioned as well but we certainly haven't seen her. There was the Korean girl that Sid the Dummy knew as well. i don't think she got named either though.
Oh, and Anya's birth year was 1980 (I think. Could have been 81, but my reference stuff is all at home). I'm sure there must be more than that though.

Actually I'm not sure if India is mentioned or not or whether she's just been established in the novels. The intro bit from the first ep, as far as I'm aware, was only ever shown when the series first premiered and has never been shown outside the US, included on subsequent repeats or been kept on the video/DVD releases. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if it's on the DVD *somewhere*.
OK, in the movie of Buffy there is a young actor playing basketball in a no 10 shirt and a young, plump waitress called Charlotte. Both went on to bigger and better things. Name them both.

OK, just to make it a bit harder the actress who played Kimberley in the film also went to to better things. In fact two of the three have won Oscars and the other one I'm sure has loads of awards. Only one of them actually is credited in the film though...

Hey, I'm curious, and this is certainly a good place to ask. How good are the Buffy comics and the Buffy novels? I think the Buffy comics have been discontinued, but I am curious about what hard-core Buffy fans think about them. A quick review anyone? Thanks!

Not sure about the comics (although if you go to www.bbc.co.uk/cult/buffy then they have a few of the comics on-line as a sampler) but the nvels are... well, they're a mixed bag. Some are great, some are utter pish. Very few of them are of the same quality as even the weaker episodes of the TV show but most of them are at least an entertaining read. If you can find them in the local library give them a look and don't be put of if the first one you read is a bit sucky since the next one might be good. The 'Tales of the Slayers' collections, with short stories about Slayers prior to Buffy are pretty good though.

Assuming we are talking about both off the top of my head I can think of the guy who played Luke and The Judge, the guy who was the Vampire in 'Lies My Parents Told Me' who was also in Angel as... someone else and didn't the guy who played Caleb turn up in Angel as well as Firefly? Unfortunately i can't think of the names of any of those off the top of my head.
And of course there was Tom Lenk who played one of Harmony's minions in 'Real Me' (I think) before going on to play Andrew. I'm pretty sure there are others though (and I assume we're discounting all the actors that played The First at various points).

OK, twice properly (once by drowning in Prophesy Girl at the end of season one, once by falling off a great big tower into a swirly magic thingy in... umm... the last episode of season five but I can't think what the hell the ep was called). In alternate realities... ok, she died at the end of The Wish. Can't think of any other alt realities though. She also died and became a vampire in the episode from season one with the boy whose nightmares became real. Ermmm.... I'm sure there must be more than that but that's all I can think of.

Lance got the one I was thinking of with Eliza Dushku playing Buffy (she was actually credited in the script as being Buffy while Sarah Michelle Gellar was credited as Faith). But I have to say Polar Boy also has a point in that Willow was played by Adam Busch (I think that's his name. Warren) at one point too. Not sure about Giles being played by someone else though. Hmm... although I think in The Dark Ages there might have been a young Giles in one of the flashbacks so you could well be right.
All that being said since lance got the ones I was thinking of I think it's his turn.

Oooh, blimey... OK, so I'm assuming we're talking all his personalities. So that would include him being sired by Darla (which I think was shown in 'Angel' but I'm not certain about that). I guess you'd count him being stabbed by Buffy and sucked into the demon dimension at the end of season two (although technically I guess he didn't actually die). As with virtually everyone else he was killed in The Wish (I think possibly acciendtally dusted by Oz but I'm not certain about that). Erm.... There's bound to have been a dream sequence where he died too.
So I make that (sort of) three, but I'm not at all sure that I'm right.

Kristy Swanson was in Pretty In Pink? Cool. I think possibly Seth Green starring with the others has been mentioned before in one of the questions but I have to admit this one I didn't know before doing a search for Buffy trivia questions. The film in question is actually a good one (I think) and while Seth Green *is* one of the main characters, the lady who played the First Slayer is just a bit part which is why it might not come up that easily.

Well Spike is definately one, since the only season he didn't appear in at all was the very first season. Angel was only in five, Anya in four. Buffy, Giles, Willow, Xander, Joyce (and I think Jonothan) were all in every season. Oz was only in five, as was Cordy (if you include the flashback in 'He' from season seven).
Ermm... it's not just Spike is it? Unless Jonothan wasn't in one of the seasons which would make it Spike and Jonothan.

Oooh, hang on, with flashbacks and so has Drusilla been in six of the seven seasons (only not being in one). She was in two, I think there was a flashback during 'Lovers Walk' in three, not sure about four...., in five she came back for the episode where she tried to get Spike back, in six... erm... not sure but I think there was another flashback, and in seven she was in a couple of episodes both as The First and as herself in flashbacks. That's the only other possibility that I can think of though, and I'm not terribly sure about that.

Spike *and* Dru? Spike killed the Chinese slayer during the boxer rebellion (don't think she was ever named) and Nikki Woods, who was as far as we know American. And Dru killed Kendra who was... urgh, gods only know with that awful accent of hers. I think it was implied she was African but could just have easily been from the Windies or Jamaica or something. It might have been said for definate somewhere but I'm not too sure about that.

Ah, in the show he said he had killed two slayers, but in 'Spike & Dru: Pretty Maids In A Row' (which I am re-readin now spookily enough) he kills a slayer during the second world war. The novel was written before the whole Nikki Wood story was on the show though so it's not out of continuity.

Ermm... Band Candy definately, which i think was the first time we saw her drive at all. She did appear to be in a driving ed class in Witch, but I'm pretty sure she didn't actually drive in it. There must be more than that one episode though. I know there were jokes all through the series about how bad she is at driving, but I can't think of any other times that we've actually *seen* her driving.

First, I need to clarify something I asked earlier. I asked who was the first to knock out Giles. I gave the answer as Buffy, but after watching season 1 again, I found I was way wrong. The first time Giles gets knocked unconscious is in "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date" when the vamp that is believed to be the anointed konks him. Giles is also knocked out in the very next episode ("The Pack") by the evil zookeeper. Sorry about that.

He was reinstated, with salary paid retroactively *cough* to his date of dismissal.
I find it surprising that Travers agreed to this, though. Since Faith was in prison, they likely could have freed her and made her their slayer. They certainly weren't succeeding in controlling Buffy.
I also find it odd that the Council did not pay their slayers, not only so the slayers could devote their efforts to fighting evil, but also as a means of control. Ah, well, if I had all the answers, I'd run for office. Or at least get a job...

Ah, it makes sense now. I figured out that most of them were or ad been demons but couldn't work out how Faith, Kendra and Kennedy fitted into that but once Reboot pointed out the fact that they got their powers from having part of a demon in them then it makes sense. *Good* question Polar Boy.

I just watched season 5 on DVD (I had seen bits and peices on the telly) And oh my god people bang on about the body being a good episode but it's just breath taking far better then hush. Also the season finaly was I think far more satisfying as an end to the show then when they did it again in season 7. Also for those people who watched week to week without a rough idea of how it all goes did you at the end of season % care enough about Dawn for it to work?

Not that I remember, but I may not have seen that ep. One of them is definately out-takes and the other could be as well, but might be short scenes that were cut. Both of the ones that I'm thinking of are... I think in the first two seasons, but they might both be from just the first.

That indeed is one of the two. The other one is from the first series, and is one of the best episodes in it. It also introduces an occasional supporting cast member who isn't actually played by anyone.

Nah, you were diplomatic lance. The other episode (which polar boy got the character I was referring to) was the one where Cordy moved into the haunted apartment and had her housewarming. The scene playing over the credits is Angel trying to relax at the party an dancing terribly.
Actor Lad got the other one though so I guess it's his go now.

A few weeks ago I asked in which episode Buffy fires a gun. I thought there was only one, which was when Buffy-in-Faith shoots at a lock in "Who Are You?" It turns out, there are 2 more episodes in which Buffy fires a gun which shoots bullets. The next question goes to the next person who can name the episode, or at least describe the circumstances, when Buffy fires a gun.
hint: one is a handgun, the other is...not.

I know she fires one of those Initative giant-taser guns in the ep she tags along with them that they rig to malfunction to get rid of her. She did fire a rocket launcher way back to defeat the Judge though. I can't think of any other times that she fires a normal gun that you didn't mention though.

From what I have heard the only 3 in the movie are James Masters, Andy Hallete and Amber Benson herself. Apparently scenes were recorded with the lovely Emma Caufeild and were actually mistakenly taped over and as they couldn't get Emma back the scenes were rerecorded with a different actress.

Well it wasn't really important to the plot, but by 'musical' I mean it's not just someone doing a performance in real life (if you get what I mean) but someone singing as part of the story where they wouldn't normally. However the one that's missing *is* important to the plot. The clue to it is me saying that I'm not including Giles singing at the coffee house.

ooh, damn, it was quite an early one I think and she said it because she was pissed off but Joyce didn't believe her, or didn't hear her or something. I can almost picture the scene in my head but can't quite place it. It wasn't during 'What's My Line?' was it? I think that's where Joyce properly found out (what with Buffy being wanted for murder and all) but I don't think it was the first time she was told.

As for Willow's major, I don't think it was ever stated clearly. Obviously she was doing psychology because that was Maggie's class and she mentioned that she was doing Theatre as well (because she was mad that Buffy dropped out and she'd have to do it alone). I have a feeling she was also doing poetry of some kind (or was that just Buffy? She broke the Professor's slide projector when she went to tell him she was dropping out) and when Buffy rejoined the uni later on she was in a class with Willow which I think might have been English Lit. Quite what course Willow was taking from all those is anybodies guess, since I would have thought (from the school based series) that she'd be more likely to be majoring in a science or computer programming or something like that. For that matter quite what Buffy and Oz were majoring in as well seems to be a mystery (although again I'd assume that Oz was computer sciences of some sort).

Do we count Faith? It wasn't really a 'date' and from what we found out at the end of series seven she does have some demon in her (hence her powers). The only other one I can think of is the girl from the episode in the seventh series where Anya turned her former boyfirend into the big wormy monster. I can't recall what her name was though, and they didn't quite have a date but sort of nearly did.
D'oh, and Cordelia of course (pre-demon days). Other than that though I can't think of anyone else.

Cordelia is correct, of course. I would not count Anya, since she was a demon - sometimes. Also, I would not count Faith since I don't believe what they had was a "date." I also would not count Nancy (the girl with a big worm for a boyfriend) since I don't think they ever actually had a date.
There is one more girl with whom Xander was seen on a date...and true, the definition of "date" is slippery, but Xander and this girl are shown driving around and actually having drinks together.

I think it was her ex-boyfriend who was raised as a zombie (by his uncle I think) and then raised his three best friends. Well, Willow & Tara had Miss Kitty Fantastico... and unofficially, they "owned" Amy the Rat.
Willow also had a few goldfish until Angelus killed them and stuffed 'em in an envelope.
Buffy and her mom had an unknown stray cat in their basement that turned into a zombie-cat, which was later dumped on Giles (though he refused it).
Didn't Cordelia mention having a dog at one point? But we never saw it.

As for the two who saw their Watchers killed Faith was certainly one of them. Kendra's watcher was still alive so it's not her. Neither of Buffy's Watchers died (unless you're counting Gwendolyn Post as an actual Watcher). Erm... I'm pretty sure Robin was brought up by his mother's Watcher so it wasn't her. The only other Slayer I can think of that we saw in the series who had a Watcher was the Chinese Slayer that Spike killed during the Boxer revlolution. Did she see her Watcher die as well?

Tara showed up only once in the opening credits: in the episode where she died. Anya was killed in the final episode.
Wesley was killed on "Angel," of course; and Fred technically died when her body was possessed by a demon. Doyle died in the first season of "Angel," and Cordelia was killed off in the final season (after being in a coma for awhile).
Buffy herself has died at least twice but returned; and Joyce was killed off permanently.
In the episode where Jonathan was a paragon, he dominated the opening credits... and his character was later killed off. Oh, and Spike died at the end of "Buffy," but got resurrected for "Angel."
That's all I can think of.

Harmony is Kendall and Andrew is Wells, although I'm not sure if his surname is actually ever said in the series. However his brother's full name (Tucker Wells) *is* given so you have to assume that they're the same.

Well season 1 was the Master who killed her. Season 2 was Angelus, who certainly beat teh snot out of her a couple of times. Season 3 was Mayor Wilkins who... hmm, not sure. I'm pretty sure he smacked her around a couple of times but whether that counts as actually beating her up... Season 4 was Adam (oh dear) who beat her up a couple of times. Season 5 was Glory who well and truly beat her up. Season 6 was... well, it depends on whether you count Dark Willow on her own as the big bad because I'm pretty sure she beat up Buffy. The Troika I don't think did though. Although Warren shooting Buffy sort of counts... and Season 7 was the First who didn't beat up Buffy in any way at all since it couldn't actually touch anything corporeally.
So I guess it's the First you're looking for.

Well he didn't quite beat her up to the level that some of the others did, but in the episode with the Judge in it when they're at the shopping mall I'm pretty sure they had a big smack-down fight. Angelus didn't quite win but he certainly held his own before running off.
OK, new question. Hmmm... ok, easy one again. Speaking of Angelus how many times has he 'returned' after Angel got his soul back?

It is indeed. She actually says in Killed By Death that she wanted to be PG as well as pretended to be her. I thought that was very astute of her, and also a bit of a surprise from teh writers considering I wouldn't have thought that PG would be the obvious choice. Of course maybe that's why they did it.

Oh, and in answer to lance's question the First wasn't adam (or at least i don't think he was) but he was also Mayor Wilkins. It was certainly Warren, Jonothan and Spike as well though.
Hmm, trying to think. In the first episode of the series I think it was Glory, Dru, Mayor Wilkins, Buffy and Spike. Then later Warren and Jonothan. I don't think it took the form of the Master though. In series three it was also one of the men that Angel had killed along with being Jenny and another woman i think, but since we're just talking about series seven that doesn't count.
So I've got the same number as Drake, but with the Mayor instead of Adam.

By the way, the guy who played Scott Hope was in one of my classes in university. Seemed like a good guy. Went on to many other more prominent roles in movies and TV, including a starring role in the Canadian movie waydowntown, which comes with my highest recommendation. Especially to this crowd.

Erm... it's in the dream sequence that Faith has just before she comes out of the coma (in 'Five By Five' I think) and it's a big fluffy sort or brown dog but it's exact breed I couldn't tell you. I assume that's the one you're referring to, and I have a feeling it was actual played by SMG's dog. Or possibly Joss Whedon's.

Buffy died twice, but got better.
Angel and Spike died as they were becoming vampires, and it is implied that they both died at the end of 'Angel'.
Cordelia died.
Anya died.
Tara died (in the only episode in which she was in the opening credits).
Fred died, and it is implied that Illyria did too.
It's implied that Gunn died.
Wesley died, and so did Doyle.
Let's see, is that it? Oz and Riley didn't die. Joyce was never in the credits. Giles and Xander and Willow didn't die. Lorne didn't die, and I don't think he was in the credits anyway. Dawn didn't die. I think that's it.

Gunn, Angel, Illyria and Spike dying in the final episode is... uncertain. not sure if any of the comics that have been published since are set after then or not, but since there has been talk of TV movies with Spike and/or Angel I would guess at teh very least they survived. God only knows how though (and how the hell were they going to tie up that story if the series *had* been recommissioned?).
Lorne was in the credits from series three (or possibly four) of Angel, but yes he survived. Technically I suppose you could say that Willow and Xander both died in The Wish but personally I wouldn't count it sicne that was an alternate reality and so doesn't quite count. Joyce wasn't in the credits as you say and Dawn, Giles, Oz and Riley didn't die.
Jonothan was the one I thought was likely to trip people up (possibly Tara as well) but since you got all of them apart from him I think Matthew gets the next question even though Lance got the hardest one.

Well, since people haven't answered by now, I figure nobody would mind if I cheated and used the internet. In some cases this turned out not to be as easy as it sounds, and being the web, no guarantee of being right. Here's what I came up with:

Ok, due to pressure from many (well, ok, one) poster I will give the answer. Buffy shot Angel with a gun in the second season episode, "I Only Have Eyes For You." That episode also featured Meredith Salinger, who was the lead in "The Journey of Natty Gann." Then she went off to Harvard, and did a few acting roles thereafter.

But checking his bio it says he continues too (I guess I'm remembering the actor dying instead of the character). The bio reveals the last thing he does on the show is shoot Lindsey, so Lindsey's my final guess.
