It's a while since we had a new trivia game and being the bunch of geeks that we are I know I can't be the only one who loves cartoons (Cartoon Network is my joint favourite TV station with Living TV). So lets have a trivia game for cartoons, old, new, good, bad and ugly.

I'll start (natch).

Which Powerpuff Girls character put in a brief appearance in the first episode of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends?

Well I have a one in three chance:

I would say Bubbles. I think she had an imaginary friend in one episode of her own show.

Posted by Bevis on :

Nope, not Bubbles.

When I say Powerpuff Girls character by the way, it's a character from the show rather than specifically one of the girls (which kinda gives a hint that it's *not* one of the girls, but...)

Posted by Reboot on :

The dad-guy in the white coat (Professor or Doctor, I don't want to remember which, since I've traumatically repressed my memory of seeing that show)

Posted by Bevis on :

Aww, Reboot, Powerpuff Girls is *genius*.

But you're wrong, it's not the Professor.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I'll make one more guess:

Ms Keen, the Kindergarden teacher

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

What's "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"?

Anyways, I'll guess Mojo Jojo

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Could it be Bubbles' doll Octy the Octopus?

Posted by Bevis on :

Drake has it. Mojo appeared as an unimaginative imaginary friend for a couple of seconds.

Foster's is from the same people that did Powerpuff Girls and is fantastically funny. No idea what channel it'll be on in the States, but since it's on Cartoon Network here I'd guess it'd be the same there (but you never know). Worth checking out just for Eduardo and Frankie.

My inaugural question for this thread (great idea, btw Bevis!)has to be about "The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers" because that was my favorite cartoon as a kid:
What was Zachary Fox' wife's name?

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

OOOOOO good one Drake, i think her name was Eliza fox

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

You got it! (poor woman never did wake up did she?)

Yeah too bad they never did another season so we could've found out Eliza's fate. [Frown]

ok heres my trivia Question it's a two parter;in the "Perils of Penelope Pitstop" what was the name of her antagonist and what was the name of her protectors.

Posted by Reboot on :

Well, the protectors were the Ant Hill Mob. As for the antagnonist, I just recall that it was her guardian under another name (and cloak).

Sylvester Sneekly, aka the Hooded Claw.

Dastardly & Muttley were part of the show. I'm not sure of the order, but you would have the Perile of Penelope Pitsop then Dastardly & Muttley in their flying machines (trying to stop a carrier pigeon)

Posted by Bevis on :

Dastardly and Muttley weren't in Penelope Pitstop, but they *were* in Wacky races with Penelope and the Ant Hill Mob and all those others. Wacky Races *rocks*.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Did some research, Dastardly & Muttley also had a spin off show from Wacky Racers. It aired at 9:30 and Penelope aired at 10:00. Which Is probably why I thought they were on the same show, but separate.

Saturday Morning Schedule 1969

Posted by lancesrealm on :

Well, at least that explains why I got them confused. Amazing that I still remember - at least in part - cartoons I watched when I was 4.

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

Hmmmm,...what to do? Reboot got one part of the question right but not the identity of the Hooded Claw but Lightning Lad got the Hooded Claw answer. Bevis i leave it to your judgement to who winner is or should i ask another question?

Posted by Bevis on :

It was your question John, so it's your call, but I'd say Reboot should have the next question just because he got half the question right first (if you see what I mean).

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

ok then Reboot it is. your turn sir.

Posted by Reboot on :

Well, have to make my first question on this thread about the cartoon I took my nick, avatar & sig quote from [Smile] It's a sitter if you know the series at all tho [Razz]

What was the name of [Enzo] Matrix's girlfriend?

Your go.

Posted by ActorLad on :

I'm blanking on a bunch of toons at the moment so here's an pretty easy one if you watched the show.

Who were the 3 new members of the Thundercats that joined the team later in the shows run?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Lynx-O, Bengali and Pumyra?

Posted by ActorLad on :

Correct.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Next Q:
What name did Wu Fei give his Shenlong Gundam?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Hmm... there's no real way to hint at it, so I'll just give the answer -- "Nataku".

Ok, an easier one this time:
Which Bionic 6 villain had a big metallic hand?

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

"f.y.i. they were Hanna Barbara's take on the 3 muskettiers."

Crap! I swear I posted a real good one already. Bet I lost it on Monday when my work PC crashed.

Who was the first ongoing animated character to become nationally famous?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Bosco

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Nope. This character predates Bosko by over a decade.

[ April 15, 2005, 09:26 AM: Message edited by: Lightning Lad ]

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Winsor McCay's Gertie the Dinosaur?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I'll take one more guess.
Felix the Cat

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Nope to both but McCay did involuntarily have a hand in the creation of this character.

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Commander McBragg is a 'descendant' (character type-wise) of this character. The cartoon even mixed in some live action shots.

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Is that Colonel Heeza Liar?

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

That's him Chaim. The good colonel started in 1913 and was the first truly nationally famous cartoon character. He was invented by John Bray who learned how to do animation by stealing the idea from Winsor McCay. Bray actually posed as a reporter and McCay gladly showed him how it was done. Bray then turned around and patented the process for himself.

On to you Chaim.

Here's one particularly appropriate for this message board...on what cartoon did a character named "Matter-Mucher Lad" appear?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

That should say, "Muncher."

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

was it "Fairly Odd parents"?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Indeed it was, John. The episode plot had involved Timmy (as the Crimson Chin's sidekick, IIRC) attending a school for super-hero kids, and that obvious homage to Tenzil Kem was amongst his school-mates.

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Wasn't there also a Bouncing 'Boil' in that same episode?

Posted by l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN on :

i think there was, but it was funny how they kinda "dissed" Hawkgirl.

here's one for any of you 80's buffs, name all six Mighty Orbots.

Ok This maybe easy.

In the early 70's both Superman and Wonder Woman made separate guest appearances on a cartoon based upon characters from a popular TV show. What was the name of the cartoon?

Electric Company

I know a lot of people made appearances on this show. Wouldn't surprise me.

Posted by Korbal on :

Shortly after TMK what cartoon team did the Bierbaums write for?

a complete guess The superfriends.

A whole website is given to Bagpuss. (Google is your friend)

Was that always the case from the beginning? There was one in particular whose basic "special feature" was that he could fly unlike the others.

i know that this is probably the wrong one but i'm gonna go with Skyfire.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Was he one of the Autobot jets? Either way, I'm thinking of one of the originals - from the beginning of the series. He was an autobot that transformed into a car. Another hint - he "loaned" his flying ability to Optimus early on in the show.

Skyfire wasn't a G1 Autobot. He came, I think, in season 3.

After doing some searching, the only actual Autobot who could fly was Mirage, and he had to use a jet pack to do that. The writers later on made it so all the Autobots could fly.

I have to wonder where you got that information becuase it's *incorrect!* There was indeed an autobot with a jetpack before they all were granted the ability to fly, but it wasn't Mirage.

shesh..tell me about it. I shouldn't Google as much. Upon further review, Wheeljack could fly because of the solid rocket boosters built into his arms.

name the two recurring Star Trek characters played by the voice actor for JLU's The Question.

Posted by Calybos on :

D'oh. That's what I get for not reading the whole thread.

Jeffrey Combs has played several Star Trek characters: I believe Weyoun and Tyron (sp?) were the recurring ones, both on DS9.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

hmm.... close, but I looked it up to confirm and I think Tiron only appeared once. He actually did play two other recurring characters - one on "DS9" and the other on "Enterprise" -- both of whom had many appearances. If you can name one of those two, I'll give it to you.

CHORUS:
Gummi Bears,
Bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare,
They are the Gummi Bears.

Magic and mystery,
Are part of their history,
Along with the secret,
Of gummiberry juice.
Their legend is growing,
They take pride in knowing,
They'll fight for what's right,
In whatever they do.

CHORUS

(Repeat first verse)

CHORUS

Gummi Bears,
When a friend's in danger they'll be there,
Lives and legends that we all can share,
They are the Gummi Bears,
They are the Gummi Bears,
They are the Gummi Bears!

Oh goodness! That wasn't part of the original question.

I remember watching it while young. Gary Gulliver was so dreamy. So I am preety sure it was made in the late 60's early 70's.

Gie me tonight to think of a good question.

LAM yours was good. The first time I saw it I thought "this must be some Australian cartoon I never heard of". But then saying Flirticia's name in my head triggered the memory.

anything for a dose of gratuitious sex, Quis [Wink] [Wink]

But to save you the hassle of research, the cartoon was made in 1968, the same year that introduced the Banana Splits to the world and on a different level of consciousness...Jan-Michael Vincent in "Danger Island"...

Cartoon Question: Hmmmmm

In the first season of the Superfriends, what three heroes make guest appearances?

Each hero guested in different episodes.

Bonus: tell what each hero did?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

No one's going to try to answer this question? [Frown]

Posted by lancesrealm on :

UM, ok, been a really long time, but...

Black Vulcan, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

You got one of the three. And I am talking about established DC heroes so no Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, Samurai, or El Dorado.

Posted by lancesrealm on :

Pretty sure one waa Green Arrow...or maybe Green Lantern. How about Hawkman?

Posted by lancesrealm on :

Oh, wait, wasn't Atom in one of those?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

You still have only one correct (GA or GL?)

Posted by Blacula on :

I'm pretty sure that 2 of them were Green Arrow and Plastic Man. Not sure about the third though - Flash? Or was he already a member?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

You have it Blacula.

The order of guest appearance was:

1) Plastic Man who reached inside a giant computer to retrieve a mouse who was causing the computer & everything it controlled to go haywire.

2) The Flash who wraped copper wiring around the Earth so as to pull the Earth back into it's correct orbit.

3) Green Arrow who, although shrunk, freed the also shrunk superfriends who had been captured.

Personal note. I think this was my first exposure to the Flash and I have loved the caracter ever since.

Your question Blacula

This one is probably really easy but who turned into who by saying the immortal words...

"Showtime Synergy!"

Posted by Calybos on :

Jem (of the Holograms).

Posted by Blacula on :

You've got half the answer correct Calybos. But who turned into Jem?

Posted by Calybos on :

Jerrica Benton, president of Starlight Music.

Posted by Blacula on :

Truly, truly, truly outrageous Calybos!

You're up!

Posted by Calybos on :

Hmm... this not a TV cartoon, but rather a comic strip. Is that OK?

From "The Wizard of ID," name

* The wizard's wife
* The court jester
* The ministrel

Bonus point: Brant Parker collaborated with Johnny Hart (of "B.C.") to produce the Wizard of Id. What other comic strip did Brant Parker help create, and what's it about?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Wizard's wife - Blanche
Court Jester - Bung
I'm unfamiliar with any minstrel, though.

Bart Parker also helped create Crock, about life in the French Foreign Legion.

Posted by Calybos on :

Good enough! (The minstrel's name is Troob.)

Your turn.

Name the cartoon from which these lyrics came:

"When in Rome, you do as the Romans do
and make everybody welcome"

Apologies for being so late, i had some bad news earlier this morning...

"Get on your chariot, come this way.

That would be The Roman Holidays.

Okay...

Which celebrity appeared on The Flintstones, playing him/herself, without their name being changed to something with "rock" or "stone", etc..

Posted by lancesrealm on :

Rock Hudson?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

Nope. He didn't appear on the show, although there was a character named Rock Quarry who appeared in one episode. Next guess?

Posted by Blacula on :

I have no idea but...

Bob Hope?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

Not Bob Hope. Here's a hint: He appeared as an animated version of himself, but he was not an actor.

Hoagy Carmichael appeared as himself.

Some other celebrities, notably Ann-Margaret and Tony Curtis, also appeared as themselves, but they were called "Ann Margrock" and "Stony Curtis".
And, of course, Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York appeared in character as Samantha and Darrin in one episode.

Bill Mumy - Lost In Space?

Is it Seth Green? I can't remember who his new comic is being published by but I want to say its one of the DC lines. And of course he was Oz on Buffy.

No, it's neither Bill Mumy or Seth Green. I believe Greens's comic is under and Image or TC imprint.

Jamie

Chopper...he was a dog right?

Don't remember the villains names tho', nor the caricature one was based on.

Jamie

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Maybe I should have just asked the bonus question and this would have lasted longer.

Chopper the dog is the correct answer. "You better close your eyes, Yakky" "OK Chopper"

The two villians were Fibber Fox and Alfy Gator (who was a caricature of Alfred Hitchcock)

OK. One of the studio singers for Josie & the Pussycats went on to star in a TV series. Who was this singer/actress?

I'll throw a name out there for the heck of it, though I may regret it if I'm right: Cheryl Ladd.

Me! Me!

This might be familiar to cartoon viewers of the mid to late 60's:

"Five drops of essence of terror
Five drops of sinister sauce
When the work is done - may I lick the spoon?"

If anybody can remember the rest of the dialogue, the kewpie doll is their's! [Wink]

Posted by legionadventureman on :

For the benefit of those who didn't get it, here is the rest of the dialogue:

Of course, ha ha, of course!
Now for a tincture of tenderness, for I must only use a touch
For without a touch of tenderness, he might destroy me (oops! too much)
Better hold your breath, he's starting to tick
Better hold my hand - I'm feeling sick!
"Hello Daddy!"
"What have I done???"
"I'm Milton...your brand-new son...."

Rockhopper Lad seems to be MIA so here's an easy question to get this game moving again.

What were the names of the Flintstones' and the Rubble's children?

Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, respectively.

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

I believe it was Kiro, a little blue guy who served the same story role as Lois Lane--get in trouble and scream for help a lot.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

I've seen it spelled a couple of different ways, but Lightning lad got it -- "Kyro" fits the bill!

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Okay, here's a quick one since I haven't been able to come up with something good this week.

What was the name of the wizard in Fantasia?

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

I seem to remember reading that it was supposed to be "Yensid Tlaw" ("Walt Disney" in Zatanna-speak [Wink] ).

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

That's the anser I was looking for BRM!

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

Yay me!

The next question concerns the Warner Bros cartoons of the Golden Age.
In the long-running conflict between Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny, on those occasions when Elmer believed he had succeeded in killing Bugs, he almost always regretted it instantly.
I can think of one cartoon where Elmer actually enjoyed his (apparent) victory, for the few seconds before he realized that Bugs was still alive.
Name the cartoon, or at least descibe it in sufficient detail for sure identification.

Posted by Calybos on :

Well, he was pretty pumped in the opera spoof when he "killed da wabbit." Is that the one you mean?

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

Nope, Elmer really does win in What's Opera, Doc?
And he's blubbering like a baby as he carries Bugs's body towards Valhalla.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I can't remember the name, but is it the one where Bugs (supposedly in his hole and out of sight) goes "I'm kicking the bucket, Doc." Literally kicks a bucket behind Elmer. Elmer goes "Hurray! The Rabbit kicked the bucket." Bugs then grabs Elmer's hands and they dance around singing "The Rabbit kicked the bucket! The Rabbit kicked the bucket!" As Elmer wises up Bugs does give the line "The bucket kicked the Rabbit."

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

We have a winner!

The business Quislet, Esq describes occurs near the beginning of Robot Rabbit. Elmer is trying to stop Bugs from raiding his vegetable garden, and calls Acme Pest Control for help. They send him a robot exterminator "with an ewectwonic bwain" and the bulk of the cartoon consists of Bugs clashing with the robot.

Over to Quislet, Esq.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

OK. Warner Brothers also did a series of cartoons where the characters of books and magazines came to life. In one, Daffy Duck makes an appearance. The question is what song did Daffy sing and which character did Daffy try to save?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

I remember he was doing a Danny Kaye character and was singing "Nothing could be feena than to be in Caroleena in the morrrrr-nink."

Whom does he try to save? Hmmm. I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Well, that is half of it. I might as well give it to you.

He tried to save Little Red Riding Hood. He tries to warn her about the wolf in a scat song.

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

That's right! "The better to eat you with..."

Keeping with the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies theme, what was the name of the diminutive gangster who disguised himself as an infant to hide in Bugs Bunny's hole?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Baby Face Fenster

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

"Oh dear, I do believe I have forgotten my fudge!"

That is correct.

Back up to you, Quis.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Gee! I better come up with a question to stump Rockhopper Lad or people will think we are in collusion.

Hmmmm........

OK. In the Bugs Bunny cartoon where he tries to help a little penguin go home, where was the penguin's birthplace?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

"Hoboken??? Oooh! I'm dyyyin'!!!"

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

"Pen-goo-ins taste just like chicken!"

"Pardon me, but could you help a fellow American down on his luck?"

I guess I couldn't stump you with a penguin question could I?

I'll give a hint which will either make a dead giveaway or will be of no help at all: The show was produced by Lutherans.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I knew the show was produced by the Lutherans and that wouldn't have helped me guess the song. I suspect that if you are Lutheran then that clue will be a dead giveaway.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Okay, then, serious guess: 'A Mighty Fortress'?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

Matthew is correct. "A Mighty Fortress" was the theme song. The song is attributed to Martin Luther and, in certain musical circles, is very much associated with Lutheranism.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Holy moley. I didn't really expect to be right. I don't know a freaking thing about Lutheranism.

Okay, next question. On the old cartoon 'Godzilla' (you know, the one featuring Godzooky the baby godzilla), the characters traveled around the seven seas on a research ship. What was the name of the ship?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Calypso was Jacques Cousteau's ship

I think I'll need a hint

Posted by Matthew E on :

'Calypso' is actually extremely close in sound to the name of the ship we're looking for.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I thought so.

Hmmmm....... Their ship wouldn't have been the Cousteau, would it?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Nope. Even closer in sound than that.

Posted by Calybos on :

"Callisto"?

Posted by Matthew E on :

No.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

The Crisco?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Yeah, that's it. It was the Crisco. And every episode, the scientists would grease themselves up and service Godzooky. I don't know how they got that past the Saturday morning censors.

If we're going to do this according to the sound of the word, 'Callisto' and 'Calypso' are equally close in sound. 'Cousteau' and 'Crisco' rather further away. And the name we're looking for is associated with the animal kingdom, but is not itself the name of an animal.

I am pretty sure that Mermaidman & Barnacle Boy are from Spongebob Squarepants. But I can't think of who their enemies might be. If I see the episode again, I'll come back with the answer.

The Dirty Bubble, Man Ray and... well, Barnacle Boy turned evil that time and became Barnacle Man, so he could have the adult size Krabby Patty. Does that count?

Sorry for the delay; Yes, Chaim's right.

Cool.

Name the cartoon Caveman and Mammoth who awoke in modern times, constantly seeking food and/or a way home.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Would that be Captain Caveman? If it is, I don't know the mammoth's name.

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope. Hint: the caveman's and mammoth's names rhymed.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Bonk and Gronk?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope.

One more hint: the mammoth's name was diminutive for a word for elephant.

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

Total guess here:

Pac and Mac?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

You're on the right track for the mammoth's name (variant of the same word), though it's still wrong, as is the caveman's.

Pack and Jack?

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

Or:

Derm and Sherm?

(Okay that was just silly!!!)

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

What the heck. I'll give the next question to walkwith crowds since he was at least trying.

The correct answer is "Wacky and Packy."

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I never heard of them. Did they have their own show or were part of a larger show?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

I got a bunch of these on a cheap DVD, headlined by Casper, so I don't have first-hand knowledge of its TV run. According to "The Big Cartoon Database" they were part of something called "Groovie Goolies and Friends".

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I remember the Groovie Goolies. They were with Sabrina as a spin-off of the Archies. I don't remember the caveman.

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

I think I remember the Groovie Goolies.

Were they the pop band made up of old Universal monsters? The Wolfman was a hippy and Frankies catchphrase was "I needed that", said in a slow "Monster Mash/Karloff" type of voice?

Anyway, next question:

What was the proper name (as opposed to the shortened/nickname version) of Hong Kong Phooeys' secret identity.

And didn't the old Hannah/Barbera cartoons have amazing theme tunes?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I know his first name was Henry. I can't remember his last name.

And yes they were great theme songs.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

I believe it was Penrod Pooch sometimes called Penry.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Just to keep the game running, I checked on the answer and that is correct. Your question Lance's realm

Posted by Lance's realm on :

I used to love that show! I'm sure I even have a Hong Kong Phooey comic book around here somewhere! Sing with me! "Hong Kong Phooey! something something superstar!" I can only half remember the lyrics, though. Ah, well, off we go...

In "Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch," what was the name of Wheelie's girlfriend?

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

Hey Lance and Quis!

Sorry I'm late, traffic was murder.

Actually I've been having trouble with my modem.

Lance you got it right on the money so it is, of course, your turn.

I have no idea who wheelie's girl friend is though.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

I don't know how to give a hint here. Her name was Rota. Whoever wants the next question can have it.

Posted by Bevis on :

Well while I'm here I'll take it (since I've not known any answers for ages). Let's make it an easy one though...

Where was Danger Mouse's secret headquarters?

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

In a postbox.

Another cartoon with a great theme tune.

Posted by Bevis on :

It was indeed in a post box. Any idea where the post box was? The next question is yours wwc since I was only looking for the post box answer but it'd be interesting if anyone can remember the location od the postbox.

DM was great, and i keep catching it late at night on Boomerang. The animation is... poor, for the most part, but it's still incredibly funny and clever. Also considering it was pretty much made by two guys in a shed (OK, not *quite*, but...) the animation isn't appaling.

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

I think it was, either outside 10 Downing Street or Buckingham Palace, I'm not sure. I've still got my Danger Mouse Sticker Album somewhere, I'll look it out and check for you.

Okay, new question.

What was the name of the little green alien guy that appeared in a few episodes of the Flintstones?

Posted by Bevis on :

Oh, I know where DM's base was, just wondering if anyone else does.

As for your question, I can picture him and i think he turned up in the Jetsons as well but I'm completely blanking on what the hell he's called.

The Great Gazoo, who always called Fred "Dum-Dum"

OK, this should still be fresh in people's minds. Who has the very last line in the last episode of JLU?

I watched that episode, and loved it, but I don't remember. I'll guess Batman.

Nope, not Batman, although he was in the last scene before all teh heroes ran down the steps.

Nope.

Hawkgirl?

Posted by ActorLad on :

Well since she hasn't been guess I'll go with Diana.

Posted by Bevis on :

It was indeed Diana. Before you had the shot of the various heroes runnign down the steps you had the Big Three standing together talking about there still being threats and Diana said something along the lines of 'As long as there's a Justice League the world is in safe hands'. A nice little finish to the series I thought and a great final line.

You're up again AL.

In one ep of PowerPuff Girls they all took new superhero identities, what were they and which PPG was which ID?

Posted by Bevis on :

Oh gods, that's a fantastic episode but I bet I can't remember their actual character names. Blossom was essentially Wonder Woman crossed with Superman I think (ie: the classic bright superhero), Buttercup was a Batman/Spawn cross with a big swirling cape and her big goth car and Bubbles was, rather brilliantly, a manga bunny character throwing out love and kisses and flower stickers and stuff and hopped everywhere. The sequence where she reads the manga strip (in Japanese I think) with the bunny and the rock is one of the surrealist most brilliant pieces of animation ever in the entire world. Also their uselessness at fighting the monster in the episode is a sight to behold. I can't remember why Blossom is late but Buttercup gets stuck in the traffic and Bubbles is late because she is hopping everywhere and hence takes forever to get there. He he he.

So, like i say, i can't remeber their actual new superhero names though.

Posted by Kid Prime on :

Wasn't Buttercup called Mange?

And Bubbles was something like Happy Happy Fluffy Bunny or some such.

That was an awesome episode. Nothing will ever beat Blossom stuck in traffic, Bubbles bouncing down the sidewalk on her pogo stick, and Buttercup waiting darkly on the couch for the sun to go down. Classic.

Posted by ActorLad on :

Buttercup was Mange(inspired by a Spawn-takeoff comic called Spore), Bubbles was Harmony Bunny (inspired from a manga she was reading that I can't recall the title of) and Blossom was Liberty Belle (inspired by the WW-ish comic Freedom Gal).

Since KP got the closet answers it's his turn.

Oh I'd forgotten that Bubbles was actually on a pogo stick and that buttercup wouldn't go out till dark. Genius episode. Truly genius.

Posted by Kid Prime on :

Yes it was. Well, let's keep the Powerpuffs in it for another question (this one is a two-parter.) In the first battle with Mr. Mime, how did Bubbles first attempt to defeat his rampage through Townsville, and once that first attempt failed, how did she ultimately succeed?

Posted by Bevis on :

He's the black and white clown isn't he? I'm not certain about what bubbles tries first, but I think she tried to colour everything in with her crayons but they went grey too. I might be confusing that with the episode where her drawings come to life though. However, I know they defeat him by forming a band and singing. It's all very yellow Submarine. And then the clown gets good because he's got his colour back but they still beat him up and put him in prison.

Posted by Kid Prime on :

That's it!

"My crayons are beautiful... just not magic," Bubbles says mournfully.

I love Bubbles.

You're up!

Posted by Bevis on :

Bubbles is my favourite as well. Normally I hate cute or twee but Bubbles is just that little bit twisted as well which makes it all good.

Since we're on a PPG roll here, in the episode where an evil cat takes over Townsville who plays the voice of the cat?

Posted by Bevis on :

not even one guess? I'll give a clue either just before going to bed tonight or first thing tomorrow morning since the clue is likely to give it away straight away.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

Frank Welker? (He voices everything else..)

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Kelsey Grammer?

Nope to both of those. Hint time though, the person that does the cat's voice also does the voice for another major cartoon villain on a different series.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

James Earl Jones? (I wish I watched Powerpuff Girls....)

Posted by Kid Prime on :

Mark Hamill!

Mark Hamill it was. I didn't realise it until I was looking at a PPG site the other day, but apparently tis true. I have to admit that is one of my favourite eipsides.

Nope, you're right, Scruffy's the janitor.

Incidentally, I love that same little bit of animation they reuse over and over again when Bender and Fry walk up to him and demand to know why he's not working. It's just like watching an old He-Man episode! [Smile]

No. It didn't have that kind of name. It was a pretty ordinary name. Ironically, the first word (it was a two-word phrase) was a man's name. The second word is often heard before the word "shot".

Not Superboy or Hawkman (who did appear in the later expanded roster)

Hint: this hero was needed to get a mouse out of a computer.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Well, my only remaining guess anyway was going to be 'Green Arrow and the Atom', so I guess I'll go with that.

And how'd the mouse get into the computer in the first place? Was it installed wrong? Seems like an odd mistake to make...

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Greean Arrow and Plastic Man.

Wanted to say Atom, but who knows. All my guesses can't be wrong. On the other hand, I don't have a question prepared, so I hope Matthew gets it!

[Pete Ross]

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Start thinking of a question KryptonKid, because Green Arrow & Plastic Man are the right answers.

And Matthew, this was one of those giant room size computers from the 70s. Platic Man was needed to reach into the computer and through a bunch of twists and turns to get the mouse. The computer was controling everything so it couldn't be dismantled. The mouse was crossing wires and such.

The Green Arrow episode was good too. The Superfriends were shrunk and captured. Wendy & Marvin contact Green Arrow. And although GA get's shrunk too, he manages to free the other Superfriends.

The one other guest hero during the Marvin & Wendy era was the Flash.

Mike Doonesbury either has two brothers, or one brother who's been referred to by two different names over the course of the strip's history. What are those brotherly names?

Posted by Matthew E on :

I'm pretty sure it's just one brother, originally named Benjy, who later got way big into punk and started calling himself Sal (short for Saliva) Putrid. He's not so punk anymore, since he got a job as 'Dr. Whoopee', a spokesman for a condom company, but still calls himself Sal.

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Those are the correct names. I was never sure if Garry Trudeau intentionally changed Benjy into Sal or if he simply let Benjy get "forgotten" as a relic of the early days of the strip when it was crudely drawn and more focused on student politics than general politics and pop culture.

Take it away, Matthew!

I know the name is Daisy. I believe Daisy is female because she had pups.

Posted by KryptonKid on :

The original Daisy was male, but has since had puppies. I don't know if they got a new dog, vacationed in Stockholm, or were affected by Infinite Crisis...but I intended for my question to be in the present tense (I hope that was clear). I believe the honor goes to Quislet, Esq.

(The pups were around for a couple of years, then disappeared sans explanation. I wasn't around in the 1920's, but was Blondie's maiden name de Vil?)

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

No, Blondie'e maiden name was Boop-a-Doop.

Daisy could have been the father of the pups. I can't imagine the actual birth or any nursing was shown on-panel; with dogs, all that matters is which parent's owner wants to keep them.

...and then I read this morning's Blondie, and Daisy is clearly referred to as "she".

OK, let's see...

How many wacky racers were there in the cartoon Wacky Racers?

A bonus if you can name them all.

Posted by Bevis on :

There was Penelope Pitstop.
The Anthill Mob
Dastardly and Mutley
The Caveman Brothers
The ghoul ones that I have forgot the names of
The drag racer guy in the red car

And I'm sure a couple of others. I think there were eight in total though. That certainly sounds right...

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

I think there were nine vehicles:
The six Bevis named (I'm guessing the last one is Peter Perfect).

Plus
The Arkansas Chug-a-bug
The Army Surplus Special
Professor Pat Pending

Posted by Bevis on :

Yup, Petere Perfect is the other one I was thinking of. The male equivalent of Penelope Pitstop really.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

8 and 9 is not the correct answers

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Actually saw a couple of episodes recently, since Boomerang slipped them into a block dedicated to Dastardly & Muttley. But I had to go back and look up the details.

There were 11 cars total. The two that hadn't been mentioned yet were the Crimson Haybaler (the car/plane hybrid) and the Buzz Wagon (with sawblade wheels)

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

You are correct.

The official names of the cars are:

Number 1: The Bouldermobile, driven by The Slag Brothers (Rock Slag & Gravel Slag) - cavemen (covered with hair like Cousin Itt from The Addams Family; their design was recycled for Captain Caveman) driving a wheeled boulder. The Slag Brothers sometimes reconstructed their car from scratch just by using their clubs on any large boulder that was available. On one occassion the car was shown to be using an unseen, living creature as its engine.

Number 2: The Creepy Coupe, driven by The Gruesome Twosome (Big Gruesome & Little Gruesome) - monsters (Big spoke like Boris Karloff and Little like Peter Lorre), driving a car with a belfry; the belfry housed a dragon and various ghosts and ghouls. The Creepy Coupe was able to fly short distances through use of the dragon's wings.

Number 3: The Convert-a-Car, driven by Professor Pat Pending - a scientist in a car that can change into just about anything that moves.

Number 4: The Crimson Haybailer, driven by RED MAX - an air ace (loosely based on WWI German aviator, Max Immelmann) in a car/plane hybrid that was capable of limited flight, usually just enough to leapfrog over racers and/or obstacles in its path. The Haybailer also had a machine gun mounted, which was sporadically used.

Number 5: The Compact Pussycat, driven by Penelope Pitstop - a woman racer driving a pink feminine car with personal grooming facilities. Said facilities would sometimes backfire on the other racers---shampoo foam hitting the faces of the other racers, for instance.

Number 6: The Army Surplus Special, driven by Sergeant Blast & Private Meekly - two soldiers racing an army tank/jeep hybrid. The Army Surplus Special made use of its tank facilities while racing, including its cannon.

Number 7: The Bulletproof Bomb (aka The Roaring Twenty), driven by The Ant Hill Mob (led by Clyde) - gangsters in a 1920s salon car. Their car was renamed Chugga-Boom in the spinoff The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, where it also seemed to gain sentience.

Number 8: The Arkansas Chuggabug, driven by Luke & Blubber Bear - a hillbilly who sleeps most of the races and a worry-wart bear in a wooden buggy driven by a coal-fired range.

Number 9: The Turbo Terrific, driven by Peter Perfect - a jock (he had a crush on Penelope, so often stopped to help) driving a drag racer that often falls to bits.

Number 10: The Buzz Wagon, driven by Rufus Ruffcut & Sawtooth - a lumberjack and a beaver in a wagon with buzzsaws for wheels, which gave it the ability to cut through almost anything, damaging or destroying the object in the process.

Number 00: The Mean Machine, driven by Dick Dastardly & Muttley - the villains of the series, in a rocket-powered car with lots of concealed weapons.

Okay, tying it to the previous question... what three American cartoon series got inspiration from "Wacky Races"?

Posted by Bevis on :

Penelope Pitstop (I'm not sure if it had another name), Those Marvellous Men In Their Flying Machines (aka Stop The Pigeon, starring Dastardly and Mutley) and, I assume, Captain Caveman.

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Yes... and if I'd been thinking, I would have seen that Quislet quoted the Captain Caveman reference above! [Embarrassed]

But your question, Bevis.

Posted by Bevis on :

Yup, which is how I managed to get all three. [Big Grin] I kind of assumed that Captain Caveman came first but Quis kind of gave it away for me. Not that I'm complaining of course.

I asked a Dangermouse question a little while ago, but let's have another one. Which character from Dangermouse had their own spin off series despite the fact that only their name and the very basic concept remained the same?

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Count Duckula

Posted by Bevis on :

Correct. Same name, same concept (vampire duck) but otherwise nothing to do with teh character in Dangermouse. Mind, it was equally as genius as Dangermouse if not more so on occassions.

You're up again Seth.

What was the name of Johan's horse on The Smurfs?

[ September 18, 2006, 03:16 PM: Message edited by: Matthew E ]

Posted by Matthew E on :

No guesses? Okay.

If anybody's forgetting who Johan was, he was the squire in a castle sorta near the Smurfs village. He and his sidekick Peewit would go around and have adventures, sometimes interacting with the Smurfs, sometimes not. Peewit had a donkey named Biquette.

Hint: Johan's horse had the same name as a legendary magical horse, and also a renowned French knight.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I remember who Johan was. I just don't rmember his horse's name.

From you hints, I'll guess Roland

Posted by Matthew E on :

Not Roland.

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

Lancelot?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Nope.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

Percival?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Not Percival.

This is not an Arthurian-type name we're looking for; the French knight I refer to was a real-life guy who lived rather later than what anybody might think of as an Arthurian period.

Hint: one of the reasons I remember the name is because of its alliteration with Peewit's donkey Biquette.

This seems to have stalled out so I'll just give the answer.

Johan's horse was named 'Bayard'.

Someone else ask one.

Name at least three superheroines depicted in the cartoons, that were also princesses.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Wonder Woman, She-Ra, & Princess Nida from the Arabian Knights.

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Wonder Woman and She-Ra were indeed two of the people I was thinking of. Looked up Princess Nida, and while she's skilled with disguises... she's otherwise a normal human, and isn't called by any other name.

I didn't think "superheroine" was too vague a category? I'd meant that the character has another name and/or costume while doing heroic deeds.

Princess Ariel from "Thundarr"?

Almost, but I specified dual identities. Like when Princess Diana of Themyscira puts on her costume, she's better known as Wonder Woman.

Since the computer's acting up and I may not be on again for a few days, I'm cutting short this question. Sorry, people... [Frown]

Someone go ahead and post.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

OK I would argue over Princess Nida. Having seen the cartoon, she didn't just don a wig or mask, her features and voice would magically transform, thus she had a super-power. The whole team act as superheroes even if they do not use costumes or code-names.

I would be interested to know your third.

OK, I am taking the question based on Seth saying someone should and having gotten two of the three officially correct.

Okay, I hadn't seen that series in recent times (though I know it's been on Boomerang). The info I found on the Net about Nila is that she was a master of disguise, not that she was Mystique. [Smile]

Let's see... I was thinking Gravity Girl, of the Galaxy Trio; unfortunately, while she was revealed as the princess of her world, her actual name was never given. So I may not have been able to count her, under my own rules. [Wink]

Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) was the reincarnation of Princess Serenity, and could mystically transform into that form to fight foes too strong for Sailor Moon's powers. Chibiusa (Rini in the English translation) is likewise a princess in her native 30th century.

In "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!", what was the initial reason for Velma losing her glasses at inopportune moments?

Posted by walkwithcrowds on :

Scooby or Shaggy would bump into her while fleeing in panic?

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Sorry, let me rephrase the question:

Why did the writers/animators decide to have Velma lose her glasses at inopportune moments? Not what event would make her lose the glasses; that was my fault. I was trying not to be too obvious in the initial question.

Posted by ActorLad on :

Because otherwise she'd always find all the clues?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Hm... because so she could accidentally find some clue while stumbling around looking for her glasses?

Still not right.

Hint: it was something that happened while they were still creating the first episode that decided this.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

One of their first sponsors was for contact lenses so they wanted to show why it's inconvenient to still wear glasses?

Posted by Bevis on :

Is it something as simple as they animated a scene and forgot that she should be wearing glasses so had to come up with an explanation for where they'd gone? Basically, a continuity fubar.

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Still not right...

Posted by Calybos on :

Because she was too smart to get herself into trouble otherwise?

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

Still not right...

And the only other clue I can think of that doesn't directly state the answer is this: it's based on something RL.

Posted by Bevis on :

The actress who played Velma (or, you know, her voice) kept losing her glasses and it was an in-joke?

Posted by Seth Gaterra on :

That's it, Bevis! Nicole Jaffe, the first voice for Velma, lost her glasses during a table read. And the writers decided to use that as a running gag for the series.

Posted by Bevis on :

Yay me! Right, new question.

Yes, but that was Brendon's problem with Dwayne's theme.

Who are the Terrific Trio?

Posted by ActorLad on :

No guesses yet? Here's a hint, it's from a Timmverse toon.

Posted by ActorLad on :

Sigh it's from Batman Beyond. They were 2D-Man, Magma, and Freon. They were a Fantastic Four homage. The next person to post gets the next question.

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

For what did the acronym OGRE stand in Drak Pack?

There are actually two acceptable answers. We'll take both or either.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Oliver's Grody Regiment of Evil?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

No, but if there had been a character named Oliver on the show that might have worked. [Wink]

Did anyone besides me watch Drak Pack? I loved it!

It's "Organization for Generally Rotten Enterprises", though it was given as "Endeavours" in at least one episode.

Let's have an easy one to get things going again:
On The Jetsons what company was Spacely Sprockets' biggest competitor?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Cosgrove Cogs

well I looked it up and I am partly wrong. I'll see if you want to give it to me or not.

Close enough. It's Cogswell Cogs.

Go ahead, Quis.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

What cartoon from 1972 had Superman and Wonder Woman as guest stars?

in separate adventures.

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Scooby-Doo?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Nope. Scooby had Batman and Robin, but never Superman or Wonder Woman.

Hint: this cartoon was based upon an live action show popular at the time.

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

The Addams Family?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Nope, not on the Addams Family.

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

It was in The Brady Kids. I believe that it was Wonder Woman's first animated appearance.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

It was indeed the Brady Kids.

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

Dovetailing on that, which Saturday morning anthology series included the pilot episodes for The Brady Kids, as well as Yogi's Gang and Lassie's Rescue Rangers, as well as a rather embarrassing cartoon featuring a meeting of Daffy Duck and Porky Pig with the Groovie Ghoulies?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

No idea ... new question?

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

Sure. BTW, it was The ABC Saturday Superstar Movie.

Okay, who was the original voice of Elmer Fudd?

It was not Mel Blanc.

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

[sigh]

It was Arthur Q. Bryan. I don't know of what hints I could have given.

Whoever can name any Hanna-Barbera cartoon has the next question.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Let's say the Flintstones.

Next question:

In the 1970s, Hanna-Barbera developed an animated character for NBC and CBC, for use in their hockey broadcasts, to explain hockey rules to the uninitiated. The character has become a beloved hockey icon and may be about to make a comeback. Who is he?

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Peter Puck? Was that Hanna-Barbera? I may be way off...

[Porcupine Pete]

Posted by Matthew E on :

Peter Puck is correct.

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Who shot Montgomery Burns?

[Color Kid]

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Maggie Simpson

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Correct!

[Rainbow Girl]

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

On South Park, who was declared the Biggest Douche in the Universe?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Changing my answer. Kyle's Mom

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope. She's a bitch, but not the Biggest Douche in the Universe.

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Barbra Streisand?

[Emerald Empress]

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope, but you're closer - the person in question is a real-life person, not a fictional South Parker.

Hint: he's a man.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Mel Gibson?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope.

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Rush Limbaugh?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Nope. Major hint: the person in question is not a political figure, and is not in any way politically controversial, but he ALMOST shares the name of a politician who is currently seeking presidential nomination for 2008.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Osama Bin Laden?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

John Edwards?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Correct enough, Quis. John Edward (no s), the "Crossing Over" psychic, was declared to be "The Biggest Douche in the Universe" in a South Park episode by that name. He won the title in an actual interplanetary competition in which ine of the other contestants was an actual giant douche.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Oops, forgot this one.

What was the name of the cat in "the Funky Phantom"?

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

"Boo" ?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Arugula?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Boo it is. Your question Bicycle Repair Man.

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

Who did The Wrong Trousers belong to?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Wallace, of Wallace and Gromit?

Posted by Bicycle Repair Man on :

Correct!

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

What animal could always be found in Mister Peebles's pet shop?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Magilla Gorilla?

Posted by Chaim Mattis Keller on :

Yup.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Whose secret identity is Brett Matthews?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

The Falconer?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Nope.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Going off of Drake's guess - The Blue Falcon?

Posted by Matthew E on :

Nope. Almost a decade later than the Blue Falcon.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Hint time. The character in question is the main character of a Saturday morning cartoon of the mid-1980s. The show ran a season or less.

Another hint, which may ring a bell for anyone who saw the show... this guy's superpowers were triggered by temperature.

Posted by Matthew E on :

Another hint, which should put this over the top for anyone who saw the show... the guy's superpower was that he could turn into a red sports car. (Which, I'm sure you'll agree, is an intriguing mixture of useful and inconvenient.)

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

I looked this one up. He was Turbo Teen.

What group had the Rampaging Sloth as a member?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Super Team Big Justice Buddies?

Posted by KryptonKid on :

Justa Lotta Animals?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Nope, and nope.

Hint: The group also featured Mole Mom and Bat-bat.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

No more guesses?

One more hint: This group made only one appearance on Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Gosh, I killed this thread.

The answer was the League of Super-Rodents.

If anyone else wants to ask a question, go ahead.

Posted by Blacula on :

OK. Here's an easy one to get things rolling again.

If I had friends named Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby who would I be?

No need to wait for confirmation.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Velma.

Another easy one

What were the names of the three singing chipmunks?

Posted by Lance's realm on :

Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. (A tougher question would be, what was Dave's last name?) I am just gonna ask a question, ok? Ok, here we go...

On the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, what was the biggest thing Presto ever pulled out of his hat?

I will give periodic hints.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

hint: It was bigger than a house - most houses, anyway.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Dave's last name was Seville.

As for your question: a Dragon?

Posted by Lance's realm on :

nope. Big hint: It floats.

You are of course correct about Dave's last name, though.

Posted by Lance's realm on :

Bigger hint: It is very large, it floats, and you can land planes on it.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

An aircraft carrier

Posted by Lance's realm on :

Thanks for getting me off the hook, Quis. Yeah, Presto yanked an aircraft carrier out of his pointed green hat. Shame it was on land, though. Anyway, your question.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear a question. hmmmm.. oh dear...

Semi-easy. Name one of the members of Top Cat's gang. Top Cat is not an acceptible answer though.

Posted by Stealth on :

Choo-Choo.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Correct along with Benny the Ball, Fancy-fancy, Spook, and Brain.

Your question, Stealth

Posted by Stealth on :

Mel Blanc was famous for originating many memorable voices for Warner Brothers during the Golden Age of Animation. But there was one Golden Age of Animation character from a rival studio that Blanc originated the voice of, only for Blanc to have to abandon the character after Warner Brothers signed him to an exclusive contract.

Who is this character?

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Woody Woodpecker?

Posted by Stealth on :

Woody Woodpecker it is. Congratulations, Drake.

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

Cool beans.

Ok, 80's cartoon trivia time:
Which character from "Bionic Six" shared a name with one of the Transformers?

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

Hmmm this is a question for Kid Prime.

I'll guess Bumblebee

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

nope

Posted by DrakeB3004 on :

The Transformer in question was one of the later additions to the G1 series, the Bionic 6 character wasn't a villain or one of the 6, but was bionic

Posted by Stealth on :

Perceptor.

(I had to look it up on Wikipedia, because I never saw Bionic Six -- I'd never even heard of it until now)

Another Transformers-related question, which should be a lot easier:

What living legend among voice actors played more than twenty roles in the G1 Transformers cartoon?

Posted by Stealth on :

A hint:

He's also been the voice of Fred in almost every incarnation of Scooby-Doo including the current one; the only one where he wasn't Fred was A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.

Posted by Stealth on :

My god, nobody got the Fred hint??

Okay, it's Frank Welker.

Anyone who wants to post a new question is welcome to.

Posted by Fanfic Lady on :

[Bump]

...and almost four years later...

This one should be easy. What actor from "Mr. Ed" did the voice of Uncle Scrooge on "DuckTales"?

Posted by Shining Son on :

Well I can't name ANY actor from Mr. Ed other than Alan Young, and I doubt many people can, so I might as well be the first to guess that it's him.

Posted by Fanfic Lady on :

Alan Young (who, if he's still alive, is at least as old as Uncle Scrooge) it is.

What's your cartoon trivia question, Shining Son?

Posted by Shining Son on :

Name a Saturday Morning cartoon series that started on Earth and inexplicably became space-based for its final season.

Posted by Quislet, Esq on :

Josie and the Pussycats

So sorry I missed this thread back then...I had it at the initial question.

Gilligans Island.

Posted by Shining Son on :

Josie and the Pussycats is a correct answer.

I had Gilligan's Island in mind as the second when I originally wrote the question as "Name TWO cartoon series that..." but I double checked and IMDB didn't have an animated Gilligan's Island listed, only Gilligan's Planet.

But now that Dev has guessed it too, I googled "animated Gilligan's Island" and "New Adventures of Gilligan" came up, so I guess by not having "Island" in the title it evaded my first search.

Anyway, having named one first, Quis goes next.
