It's been far too long (at least from what I've researched scrolling through this forum) since we've done a Legion Survivor game. Those were my favorite back when I was a more active poster. I don't mean to step on Kid Prime or Invisible Brainiac's toes by running one, but I think it's about time again, don't you?

One thing I found fascinating about Eryk's 'Favorite Legionnaire' poll is how much I second guessed my votes thanks to there being a third version of certain Legionnaires now. Couple that with all the Three Worlds hype and it got me thinking: we'll soon learn who the favorite Legionnaire is from EDE's poll, but which reality are they from? I recall Lu and Mon tend to win things like this, but which version? Who will be the last threebooter standing? Postbooter? Who would make an Exiles-like 25 member Legion team? Let's find out!

I've listed below established Legionnaires from the three main realities. Some Legionnaires have two or three versions listed, some only one. There are no honoraries/reserves/false pretenses, as well as no versions of Legionnaires who were not members in their reality (such as postboot Tenzil or threeboot Mon). I decided against separate entries for SW6 & TMK Legions, but not the members exclusive to those teams. 111 Legionnaires should be enough.

Let's shoot for doing roughly one round per day. For this first round, vote for your 15 LEAST FAVORITE Legionnaire Versions, and we'll eliminate 10 tomorrow.

what? no Nemesis Kid? no SUBS members such as Chlor/ Dag? Infectious Lass? Color Kid? They were part of TMK era, so should be counted on the list! Gossmar, Alchemist, Inferno are missing from the list, as well (you have Apparition, Umbra and Leviathan on the list).

Superboy, those SW6 codenames present are the postboot versions. I hesitate to count the SW6ers since some of them are rather redundant to their preboot or postboot counterparts. But if people want the SW6ers, I can add them. I just thought the list would get too long.

I certainly have no problem adding Nemesis Kid though, and the arguement for some of the SUBS is good, as Drura did come back for a bit FYL. I'm just not sure how many to include of the Gap members. Visi-Lad? Reflecto? Atmos?

I'd say there's enough differences between the TMK versions of characters and pre-TMK versions of characters that I'd like to see that acknowledged in some way. I would suggest adding in the "SW6" versions, where it's understood that a vote for that version is a vote for TMK's portrayal of the character more generally.

I just may do this from the comments so far. EDE, I'm assuming that means adding BOTH SW6 and TMK versions and not one version to represent both, right? Just want to make sure I'm reading it right.

What does everyone else think? I'm fine with letting people edit their votes too by the way, as we sort things out.

I'm completely unqualified for this. 'My' preboot Legion has Mon-El in it, and the only Laurel is Laurel Kent, so I have no idea what this preboot Legion is!

I'd say that, if you add an extra roster or two, the number of picks in the first few rounds will have to go up.

But I thought the point of this was to tie-in to "Legion of Three Worlds" - i.e., based on Johns' versions, the postbootalike version, and the "threeboot" version. Adding extra rosters confuses that.

That was my logic for sure by exluding different preboot versions, Reboot. Going with what would be in Threeworlds. I admit sympathy on my part by adding in the TMK-exclusive Legionnaires, though it looks like I set myself up for disaster there.

I'd suggest that you should just draw a line, and say "it's started now, too late to change it", rather than fiddling after voting's started (whether or not people can edit). If you start adding in extras, what about people who want the 'toon LSH added?!

D.C. is right. My copy & pasting inability spared Threeboot Gim from elimination. So let's say goodbye to Colossal Boy (Threeboot) with four votes last round.

Round 2 is over!

This round was another close one. Even with previous round votes factoring, there's a three-way tie for our tenth spot. Since I eliminated a good excess of people yesterday, I'm going to just eliminate nine (plus Gim) for today. Devlin, Ferro Lad, and Flederweb (for those curious) are off the hook ... for now.

Chuck Taine (Postboot) is eliminated with five votes. The remaining eight eliminations with four votes each are Chameleon (Threeboot), Chameleon Girl, Dawnstar, Kid Quantum (Preboot), Kono, Neon/Celeste Rockfish, Superboy (Preboot), and Veilmist.

I love . And actually a fair amount of those eliminated. With age I'm learning to appreciate a lot more Legionnaires I hated for no real reason as a kid.

I just edited my vote, BTW, replacing Devlin with Polar Boy (Preboot) and Phantom Girl (Threeboot) with Catspaw (Preboot). Since it's not closed yet

Wanted to make sure I got D.C.'s vote in. And 'Boot, from now on I'm going to say no more vote changes after you post unless I was a goober and didn't eliminate someone properly. Round 3 is now over!

With 6 votes Reflecto/Devlin and Kid Quantim I (postboot) are rejected. 5 votes wouldn't change for Flederweb, Kinetix, Polar Boy (preboot), or Element Lad (threeboot), and four votes each with tie-breakers boot Wildfire (postboot), Thunder, and Laurel Gand (preboot). There are too many people tied for the last spot again, so let's just eliminate 9 which leaves us with 75 Legionnaires.

We've lost preboot Laurel, but have kept her ...interesting... postboot counterpart. It looks like a little faith does go a long way! The bigger the hair, the closer to Valor.

No, looking back at my R3 & R4 charts, you're right. Apparently, my "countbacks" sheet has a slightly messed-up R4 column (at some point, the Sunboys, the Starboys, Supergirl, Spider-Girl and Tellus' R4 columns had got swapped around).

However - although it doesn't make a difference to the elimination - I count seven prior votes for M'Onel, not eight (only LWL voted for him in R4, and he got two votes in each of R1-3). The others appear to be correct.

And good to know about the specific countback method

Sorry about the confusion earlier. It looks like there was some more, though. Lightning Lad (threeboot) was eliminated last round, but I neglected to take him off the list of Legionnaires. So everyone who voted for him this last round will receive an extra vote next round to make up for it.

With 6 votes, Shadow Lass (Threeboot) blacks out. 5 votes clobber Triplicate Girl (Threeboot), Leviathan (Postboot), Atom Girl (Threeboot), Phantom Girl (Threeboot), and Tellus. 4 votes and tie breakers phase out Apparition (Postboot).

Round Nine is over!

With 5 votes each, Dream Girl (Threeboot), Triplicate Girl (Preboot), and Wildfire (Preboot) are eliminated. 4 votes and tie breakers boot Lightning Lass (Preboot), Saturn Girl (Postboot), and Star Boy (Postboot). With Nura's departure, we say good-bye to the last of the Threeboot Legionnaires. She did pretty well, considering how quickly many of her teammates were eliminated. Ironic that the longest survivor was the Legionnaire "killed off" so early in that verse.

This leaves us with 25 Legionnaires, our cross-reality team. Some interesting Legionnaires still in the mix, with some interesting omissions as well.

With 9 votes, Chameleon (Postboot) morphs out. 8 votes whammy Cosmic Boy (Postboot), 7 votes make Invisible Kid (Preboot) disappear, and 5 votes with tiebreakers send home Colossal Boy and Spark.

Interesting to note as he departs is that Cosmic Boy (of the postboot variety) was the Legionnaire who went the longest without any votes against him. I believe he received the first vote against him in round nine.

Round 15 is over. So much for variety, as with 7 votes each, Cosmic Boy (Preboot) and Phantom Girl (Preboot) are eliminated. It's a postbooters game now. Our last technical prebooter would be Cos, as he had the least amount of previous round votes.

I'm really shocked Gates made it this far - he was on the cusp umpteen times, then votes for him seemed to tail off.

I'm not sure what to do here. I know who I want to win, and I know who I don't, but I'm not sure whether to vote for the other one since they're a relatively close second. If I only vote once now, can I add the other one later if it looks like it'll make a difference?

This was a very interesting game. I had no idea the postboot still had so many fans around here.

I think it's testament to the fact that one of the postboot's greatest strengths was its focus on characterisation that these three are left.

Two totally new, very interesting and instantly classic characters and one superb polish of an already very good but long ignored pre-existing character.

I love the preboot and (most of) the postboot equally but these three are in my top 5 of all Legion characters ever.

It's hard to choose one above the others but I have to go with the headband so -

2. XS

I was rooting for Cos as well... Anyways, I'll vote for just one:

Invisible Kid (Postboot) - I liked him, but thought he was too "white bread" (and I don't mean that in a racial way) during the postboot. I'd be happy with either XS or Gates to win.

I actually would have been happy with any Legionnaire winning from the last five rounds or so. I'm 100% happy with who looks to be the winner even though I'm voting against them. I owe Jenni. Without her, I wouldn't be a Legion fan.

As for votes, it's fine if you want to post just one. But I rather you hold off on posting over editing a second in. The reason being, much like previous rounds, is that I tally votes as we go. And even when I hold off and do it all at once, people have slipped changes in before I got the post up and gotten in a huff about it. So to avoid confusion and reworking that could happen either way, I prefer people to stand by their posts once they post them.

Well, it's fairly clear Lyle is going to win now, so I feel alright voting against him. Lyle (postboot) & Gates are two of my top three male Legionnaires [Cos (postboot, natch), being the third; with Spark, Umbra & Triad being the female top three in no particular order - I was really quite annoyed the round Ayla went out on a (particularly narrow, IIRC) tie-break]. Jenni's not one of my favourites, and while I most want Gates to win from the three finalists, I'm happy enough with Lyle. So, the votes:

And we have a winner!

With 9 votes against her, XS takes third place. 8 votes leave Gates in second place. Our Legion of Three Worlds Survivor is ... Invisible Kid (Postboot)! He only had 5 votes against him this round and 21 previous round votes.

I hope everyone has had fun, even though this game took time and we had some missteps. I like the insights we learn from such games about characters in the fandom eyes (from who remains or how long/short their stay is).

Would people be opposed to other survivor games in the future? Let me know.

Novelty had a great idea for perhaps taking this concept a step further, and voting for which iteration of each Legionnaire was our favorite (Adv era, v2-v3 preboot, TMK, SW6, Reboot, Threeboot, Toon, Elseworlds, etc). Each round would include a different Legionnaire. Let me know what you think about that.

Firstly - Yay, Postboot, Zero Hour, PMS, Archie Legion, whatever you call it victory.

As to continuing this game for different versions of each character, I'm whole heartedly in support of it. I'd suggest going in the order of membership based on preboot, then characters introduced postboot, then threeboot (are there any new 3boot chars), then anim. I'd be willing to help with the organisation of such a task.

The other things I'd suggest is that the end of each "round", the next character is picked and everyone gets to add their suggestions so that we have all possible versions of the character before the round for that character (aka next round) starts.

wow, I am sorry I missed this game! It looks like it was really interesting.

I'm surprised no version of Brainiac 5 made the top 10, but I'm pleased that Postboot Legionnaires did so well.

Go XS,Gates and Lyle! I very pleasantly surprised to see a top 3 of all Postboot Legionnaires.

Great job, Future!
