Here is a new game I thought I would try out. Just like the "I'm thinking of an animal" thread, posters ask yes-or-no question to find out what city/town/village I am thinking of. This should give us all a chance to beef up our geography, huh?
There are only a few rules:
1) Questions should be of the "yes or no" variety.
2) Try to make the towns something that is visible on a map. A fishing village of 3 Innuit might be too small, for example.

Pay attention to the third paragraph where it talks about students from Indiana going to Krefeld. In 1982, for 7 glorious weeks, I was one of those students. BTW, that's why I had to give such a detailed answer on the north/south question. Where El Paso lies on the East-West direction, it touches both the north and south borders of the state of Texas, so I couldn't give a simple answer as I might have for a different city, where the state is wider.

Sorry, lance, I guess you don't listen to much "classic rock." Most of the odder lines after I revealed the answer to be El Paso came from the Steve Miller Band's song "Take the Money and Run", which is pretty memorable for its terrible forced rhymes. (El Paso - Hassle - Castle; Texas - Facts is)

According to Wikipedia, it's pretty close, but Panama City is indeed south of San Jose. San Jose is 9 56 N, Panama City is 8 59 N. And since my El Paso adventure, I am certain that this makes San Jose further north.
But you're clearly on the right "trick hint" track. It looks like Caracas, Venezuela is actually further north (10 30 N) than San Jose - that will be my next guess.

yes that s the capital I am thinking of! the highest capital city in Europe....
when I was 6 or 7 can't remember my age...when I was younger, my grandmother had an old set of Encyclopedia and Nursery Rhyme (I remember that it has about 33 books...maybe I misremembered....oh well)....at first I opened up the Encyclopedia....which showed a NEAT picture of the map of each countries all over the world...(remember it was in 1970s...) and I was fascinated by it....beauty kelly forest green color and details on mountains, roads, rivers, lakes, ahhhh I read the maps all through A to Z encyclopedia books...ah....it was the most quiet time that My mom ever appreciated.
when I came across Europe and its countries - Spain and France - I noticed a small dot between Spain and France - and it said "Andorra"....I was mystified by that name and wondering why I have not heard of it before....I knew France and Spain, but not Andorra..(and Luxembourg, too! ) ....but it was Andorra that really won me over and been fascinated...I was in awe that the country is so small and stood up to the "giants" such as France/Spain/Germany/Italy...I have been fascinating to that for many years....and even saw the pictures...wow so much beauty there and makes me want to visit there someday. So I am hoping I ll be able to visit Andorra sometimes soon...real soon.

I am in Metropolis, Illinois.
The Mason-Dixon Line is at 39 dgrees, 43 minutes north. Metropolis, Illinois is at 37 degrees, 9 minutes north. Illinois extends quite far south and Metropolis is near the very bottom of the state.
As for the coastline, Illinois borders on Lake Michigan (admittedly at the other end of the state), which is considered coastline in at least the sense of the term of tidal shoreline. There has been at least one other round where Pennsylvania was described as having a coastline--which it does on Lake Erie. If that's too confusing, the word "seacoast" may be less ambiguous.

For the record, PA also has a coastline on the Delaware Estuary (which one might argue is part of the ocean). I'd agree with counting coastlines on the Great Lakes for the general question of "Does it have a coastline?", however.

Yes I am on Ballast Key! the southernmost point of the USA, (48 contiguous states)....I have a picture of me and my sister standing on my Uncle's boat and the island is a private owned by someone I don t know...but it was famous filmed such as James Bond movies..(which one I dont know...) and that many famous artists and writers and others visited there. been there a few times. one of the most beautiful islands and ocean ever. I do miss Florida.

Not there either, but you're right, it is beautiful! Love the Vigan delicacies (empanadas or meat pies, and longganisa - a type of sausage), and the old Spanish architecture. There's also a nearby (well, relatively) church that's overlooked - Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion in Santa Maria, about an hour or two south of Vigan. It's a beautiful red brick structure in the Baroque style.

I am indeed in Pennsylvania, which has a tidal shoreline on the Delaware Estuary, but whether that is a coast on the ocean is debatable. Also, Pennsylvania's border with Canada is on Lake Erie.
