Um, I really am liking that first cover, and Mon-El's costume. No matter what everyone else says.

People who dislike it can always take consolation in the fact that his 31st-Century incarnation might well end up back in the "old" outfit anyway.
^^^ I'm sure he probably will, if Lo3W is anything to go by.

I don't have a problem with them changing Mon-el's costume for his 20th century adventures - in fact I wish they'd changed it more.

My big problem with it is that they all they did was make his fairly unique 'loose' original outfit more generic by tightening it and then added on a little Superman symbol. It seems so uncreative to me.
Um...no Legion?!?!?

No Legion???!!! And more Superboy Prime? Bah!

I hadn't really thought about it, but Mon-el's costume could have been changed drastically, different colors as well as form. It's not as if there's an identification problem. But I suppose Superman family members have to keep the Superman look. Maybe Krypto could get a new cape.
And what's with the gray hair?
Is it because he's dying?

I hate the blue shorts.

Anyway, I love the dotREBELS cover.
I'm so sorry to see that Stealth is dead, I really cared about that character.
Surely the prime story should have been a Blackest Night:Superboy Prime Special so that no-one need buy it?

5 issues in and the Legion is dropped for this!!!!
At least Superboy Prime will never again appear in a Legion book, if Levitz is smart. So, let's all help REBELS this month, because a great book it is and it deserves to continue publication.
Wanna laugh? I just subscribed and paid for 12 issues of Adventure just to see the Legion. Goodness Sake, ain't DC the dickins...?
Ugg! No Legion?!? That sucks!

Here's a hypothetical - what if the Legion don't replace Kon as the leads in this book? What if the Legion keep their back-up spot and Prime takes his place? lol

/quickly changing subject while dodging flying vegetables/

Re: R.E.B.E.L.S. - When did Stealth die? I don't remember seeing it anywhere and that's a fairly big death to just occur off-panel.

Kinda crappy too. DC needs to develop their 20th Century space characters - not keep killing them off.

/angrily remembers that shitty Omega Men mini of a few years ago that stupidly killed off 90% of the team OFF-PANEL - including all of the cool new members that Andy Diggle had JUST introduced in his awesome Adam Strange: Planet Heist series/
Omega Men had a mini-series????? When??
2006/2007

And Stealth died in the <strike>last</strike> latest R.E.B.E.L.S. issue. frown
Wow!

I owned and read the last dotREBELS issue and I don't remember her dying!
I sort of remember Lyrl as a real acting baby and Vril & Stealth discussing taking care of him.

I makes me terribly sad to think that I don't remember, or didn't catch, Stealth's death.

How did she die?

Thanks NC. I guess one thing to remember about Stealth though - hasn't she died before? And isn't one of her powers the ability to come back from the dead? I vaguely remember reading that happening in one of the earlier issues.
Whew!
Thanks, Nightcrawler.
I'm sorry I'm so literal and stuff.

She was turned into goo at one point, and restored by Vril. During her labour, she went through all sorts of transformations, so who knows what she's capable of.
Well, I dunno much about LEGION except that Elseworlds annual they did, but if she CAN come back from the dead, I don't think that's happening until they get the ring off.
STEALTH getting killed really torques me off.

Anybody getting killed off in a flashback or off-panel torques me off.

Lame.

I believe it was Dox who came back from the dead (via a cloning) after dying when mating with Stealth.
^^^ You're right Man From Cargg but I've just had a memory flash of a shocking final splash page showing Stealth getting stabbed through the chest with a sword by Ignea and later left for dead.

If memory serves correctly she was later revived by Vril who slipped her a pill that jump-started her body's regenerative abilities.

This may be the occasion Cramer alluded to above. Or I could be completely misremembering. It's been many years since I read those comics.

Even if she does have the ability to come back from the dead though, I guess it's no guarantee that she'll do so now that she's been Black Lantern-ised.
Does anyone else all the black lanterns to be alive at the end of Blackest Night - well some of them like J'onn J'onnz
It wouldn't surprise me. In fact, I'm expecting something like that, perhaps a selective restoration based on some of the characters inherent powers.
I hope so.
I certainly want Stealth back, since she was killed just for the mini!

Well, it looks DC is helping me save money by not putting Legion in issue #5. I suppose I am casting a vote for more Legion by not buying this one.
Anybody else getting sick of all this Black Lantern hype?

Maybe... hopefully... possibly... some of the Legion members will be incorporated into the lead storyline as has been shown previously.

Expect an Adventure Comics/Superman crossover soon with all the Legionnaires in the 21C in it. I hope TPTB include Drura.
It's really hard to keep track of what little Legion there is out there. I tend to buy Superman cause of Mon-El. But if his name is not even mentioned in Previews, I do not preorder it. Same goes for Adventure. That way, I can show DC what I think of books without Legionnaires smile But the problem is the danger of missing something that way - still try to track down the Action issue AFTER the Legion story for example.

I really hope that soon there will be a time when the Legion gets its regular book back. Soon. With Levitz on the helm, it should be a no-brainer.
My 1st thought after seeing that Alan Davis cover was hoping that a trade of Superboy's Legion was coming out since I have no idea where both of my issues are.

The Mon-El vs Parasite fight sounds cool.

No Legion? That bites!
And you never know when a Legionnaire will show up.
In the last 'Superman' that I got, #692, another Legionnaire 'in cognito' was revealed and got 3+ pages in the story!

'Superman' in particular is that way.

And in 'Adventure' #3, Cryo King said that we should be looking for LSV characters in the past, too.
