It's amazing what lengths the obsessed fandom of a bit of sixties pop culture will go to.

Hadn't checked those out yet, but I heard of this from a blog:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nu0idBkBYA (the first 3/4ths of the episode, as YouTube made them split the file for size)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qRH_i6YNFQ (the last quarter of the episode above)

The Enterprise is caught in a warp and sent back in time to Earth in the latter 20th century... and back in space to... Gotham City!

C'mon, Lad Boy--Star Trek is wonderful and so are those fans making the amateur videos to keep the dream alive!

And if you (or anyone else) doesn't think so, and can't appreciate the magical wonderfulness that is Star Trek, then: LesterSpiffany

There was a piece about this on NPR some time ago. It's actually very well done. CBS (which now owns the Trek fanchise) allows them to do it, because they make no money at it.

Some of the New Voyages guys were guests at this year's Dragon*Con, so word is definitely out amongst the fan community.

If memory serves, one bunch (could be these guys) got George Takei to guest star in an episode.
