Legion World
Beautifully drawn but so dark I have a very, very hard time seeing what's going on.
But, maybe that's good since there seems to be a lot of kid killing.

I hate when stories are about children as cannon fodder.
frown

There was no other way to introduce the Ravagers?
I don't know.
The world is rather crazy anymore, imho, anyway.
Agreed Candlelight very dark and depressing.

As for the Legion's lost, Tom DeFalco seems to be writing off the whole Alastor/hypertaxis plot and moving off into his own plotlines. Yera and Gim broken up. The Echo, whatever that is and secrets between Legionnaires. It doesn't feel like the same book or the same characters. and what's with Yera's antennae?
What is this? Hunger Games?
Yes.
Yuck. Count me out.
Still no explanation for where Gates disappeared to (not that I expected it this issue given the plot, but still!) On the plus side, at least Yera has no problems shapeshifting anymore...

I still don't see why the Titans and the Legion Lost team had to fight. The Titans didn't seem mind-controlled nor were they "whipped into a frenzy"; and when the other kids showed up they stopped fighting right away. What gives, other than the obligatory heroes-always-fight-upon-first-meeting cliche.

I am liking the use of the Legionnaires in action, though. Nearly all of them had good battle scenes. Dawnstar and Wildfire, especially.

Just read it; I think this is my favorite version EVER of Wildfire releasing from his containment suit... well done, Pete Woods!

I kinda LIKE that the hypertaxis virus was written off-- I didn't like that plot so much. Now had it been a zombie virus...

I know I am a tiny minority but I am enjoying LLOST much more since DeFalco took over.

As for the kid killing, I am certainly NO fan of that-- but there's been only one death that I've read-- everyone else is on the run or fighting back against Culling guy-- his name escapes me.

I do wish Rose had turned to the good side though.
"The Culling" episodes did not do much for me. I found it as more of an interruption to the flow of Lost than anything that enhanced their 21st century story. The one positive was the Gates discovery, which hopefully will become the mechanism for the eventual return to the 31st century.

I thought the first 6 issues of Lost was better than the main Legion title, but that has switched over the past three months.
Hm... rather the Snoring than the Culling... completely underwhelming storyline - I'm very glad I only bought the LL and the TT issue. More than enough to understand the story. Very interesting though is the fact that DeFalco is quickly undoing any stories that his predecessor might have had in might. The Virus? Forget about it, it was just a hoax of Harvest to get the Legion to the 21st century. Hm... I did not care much about this virus storyline so I'm okay with that, but I don't think I'll care that much more about the newest developments as well. I smell a canceled book in 2013... if it survives that long.

By the way, even worse in my eyes was the first issue of the Ravagers. I wanted to see how the mixture of Titans and Gen13 characters might turn out to be - but I thought #1 was close to abysmal and I'll quit the book immediately.

The new 52... there's no keeping me now (most books I have already skipped except for the Legion, GL and Stormwatch)...

This is what crosses my mind when I hear somebody say a relationship or kid had to go because *~yawn~* soooooo boring. I can't think of any relationships or kids in these stories that could possibly be any more dull than the prospect of yet another contrived-misunderstanding-leads-to-heroes-fighting-each-other storyline.
I decided after The Culling to never spend a penny on the Ravagers, I can only take so much dreck.

Just got the Teen Titans and Legion Lost issues for this, and, gosh, I can't stand characters like Harvest. He knows everything. He can do anything. Nothing can hurt him. Everything, even stuff that was literally pulled just now out of someone's butt, is retroactively all part of his grand plan.

Yawn.

What a lousy villain.
Actually, literally pulling things out of people's butts strikes me as a pretty disgusting power.

I think that we only saw 2 die on panel, Artemis and that guy killed by the thing with the strange teeth.
But there were supposed to be many more that were already dead and a number of culllings were already supposed to have happened.
shrug

As for Harvest, I really found him to be very confusing, scattered in his words and actions.
tongue

I DID like the LOST and the Titans, though.
The art was good, if dark.
I want Gates eye to heal, or something.
And loose the teeth.
Why do they want him to have teeth?

After reading what I did of it, I did like one tiny bit of characterization.

Catching up to Kid Flash, Dawnstar says, "You are fast child, but not to one who can soar along between solar flares!"

And Gates quips, "Don't read them your resume, Dawnstar!"

Heh. Dawnstar, still expositing, after all these years. And Gates, the perfect one to call her on it!

I've finally read this story and i have to agree with everyone's comments. the story was horrible and Harvest was a lame!

he did show some promise and i liked his look to degree.
Does anyone have an idea of what his plan was?

I can't figure it out.

I think the plan was to boost sales by getting...oh, wait, you weren't referring to DiDio's plan, were you?

i think that sadly Harvest is going to come back in like a year. another cross over between all the titles.
He'll have to come back. That's the only eat the lost Legion can head home.

Once Lost is cancelled, Brainiac 5 will suddenly locate the time displaced Legionnaires using Glorith's power and return them to their own time. They will then all take leaves of absence due to Levitz not being able to cope with that many active Legionnaires.
